I'm selling my 1987 Nissan 300ZX turbo with the 5-speed manual transmission. The car is solid overall and currently runs, idles and drives nicely. Engine, transmission, and full drivetrain are very good. No leaks and it doesn't burn oil as far as I know. There are no vibrations at speed or under braking. No cracks in the dash or windows. T-tops are sealed and do NOT leak.
Really, there are only minor things that could use some attention, especially considering it's age:

Taillights don't work
Key doesn't crank it (It has a fully functioning push button start instead. Not an issue, just obviously not stock)
Probably tires
3rd gear can grind with aggressive up-shifting. It doesn't do it if you shift up normally or while downshifting.
Minimal rust

If you're interested in this car you probably already know what you're looking at. It's a great car for being 27 years old. Call/text me anytime at 5867074777 with any questions.

Nissan Murano production fires up in America for first time [w/video]

Fri, 07 Nov 2014

Production of the new, third-generation Nissan Murano has finally kicked off at the company's Canton, MS factory, marking not only the eighth vehicle built on the facility's lines, but also the first global product to be built there since it opened in 2003.
"The strategic investments that Nissan has made in Canton serve as a testament to the flexibility, efficiency and talent of our workforce and suppliers," said John Martin, Nissan's boss for manufacturing, supply chain management and purchasing. "In Canton, we build high-quality vehicles that compete and win globally, and the bold new Murano will build on that reputation."
The addition of Murano production, which joins Altima, Armada, Titan, Frontier, Xterra and NV, brought a further 1,300 jobs.

YouTuber TJ Smith is your singing Lyft driver in Nissan Sentra ad

Fri, 11 Jul 2014

Perhaps you've seen Nissan's latest commercial, promoting the Sentra. It's a fairly simple little spot, showing the compact's driver blaring Billy Idol's Mony Mony, singing along and encouraging other motorists to join in.
We'd have been fine had it been left at that. It's a simple commercial that shows the car with a catchy tune and smiling people. Nissan couldn't leave well enough alone, though, and has come back with this. Starring TJ Smith - the driver from the original ad and an apparent YouTube celebrity famous for the kind of thing shown in the original commercial - the new ad expands on the old, with more people, and more Mony Mony. This time round, Smith is serving as a driver for the Lyft service, who just happens to break into song with his fares in the car.
Scroll down for the full video. If you've no idea what we're talking about, we've also included the original commercial.

UAW calls on US State Department to help with Nissan plant

Tue, 29 Apr 2014

The United Auto Workers is calling for reinforcements in its ongoing battle with Nissan at the manufacturer's Canton, MS factory, where the Altima, Armada, Titan and NV (and eventually, the next Murano) are built. The union has been attempting to organize the employees at the factory for several years, but it's been largely unsuccessful.
Now, Reuters is reporting that the UAW is teaming with the IndustriALL Global Union and requesting intervention by the US State Department, with both groups accusing Nissan of using "threats, intimidation and fear" to keep the 5,600 workers at the facility from organizing. The two unions say this violates the guidelines of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, an international organization dedicated to stimulating economic growth.
The UAW and IndustriALL are asking the State Department's National Contact Point to serve as mediator with Nissan, to make sure things play out fairly. Speaking to Reuters, though, there's at least one Michigan-based labor adviser that's skeptical of the move.
