Classic 1987 Mitsubishi Montero Swb 4x4 No Reserve on 2040-cars
Arcadia, Florida, United States
Nice classic 1987 Mitsubishi Montero for No reserve auction. The truck is silver with blue and gray interior. Its roof is painted with a black enamel to simulate a removable top. Looks good! Custom roof rack is sturdy but is making a little whistling sound. Interior is a good 6 out of 10 I think. Radio and cassette work well. Seats have good support, driver seat has a split so it has seat covers. No rear seat, it is open for cargo and gear and has a fair amount of space. Carpet is worn, but ok. Headliner has been removed because it was in disrepair. I was going to clean it up and paint it, but didn't get to it. Gas gauge only works when the tank is full to 3/4 full, float mechanism probably needs to be lubricated. The dash has some sun fade and one crack near where the driver enters the truck. No AC. Not sure it ever had it. Awesome crank windows for reliability. The engine runs well. The truck shows high mileage. I have no paperwork that came with the truck so I don't know what kind of work it has had or not. The transmission shifts well through all gears as well as reverse. I have never used the 4WD on the truck. I have no reason to believe it doesnt work. I feel like the trick needs new shocks before being driven off road or put in extreme situations. I just use it to cruise around town and to go to work 5 miles away. Wheels are original and painted black. Tires are just ok... I would replace them if I were to keep the truck. This is a great starter truck with virtually no rust, straight body, and nice glass. I got a new vehicle that I want to focus on so I want to put this Mitsubishi in the hands of someone who will enjoy it! No reserve auction, sold as-is to the lucky winning bidder. Deposit due at the end of the auction and full payment with in 7 days via paypal or cash in hand. Thanks for looking and Good Luck! |

Consumer Reports says these are the worst new cars of 2014
Thu, 27 Feb 2014Consumer Reports has announced its annual list of worst vehicles, a cringe-inducing contrast to its list of top vehicles. Ignominiously leading the way in 2014 is Chrysler, which has a staggering seven models listed.
Jeep nearly sweeps the small SUV segment by itself, with its Compass, Patriot and 2.4-liter version of the new Cherokee, while the only midsize sedans listed by CR were the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger. The new Dodge Dart and the Dodge Journey round out CR's condemnation of Chrysler.
Ford is taking heat as well, with the Taurus, Edge and their counterparts from Lincoln all listed as the worst vehicles in their respective segments. Toyota doesn't fare much better, with its Lexus IS, Scion iQ and tC also making the list.
Mitsubishi scores record global operating profits
Thu, 24 Apr 2014In the minds of many auto enthusiasts, Mitsubishi has become an afterthought. It has transformed from a company known for its turbocharged, all-wheel-drive rally machines into an automaker with a very boring lineup. Maybe we are being unfair, though. While the company doesn't have much of a performance presence anymore, the Japanese brand is doing quite well financially.
According to Reuters, Mitsubishi Motors had an operating profit of 123.4 billion yen ($1.2 billion) worldwide for the fiscal year that ended in March. That's twice as much as last year and a new all-time record for the Japanese automaker. It's even paying dividends to investors for the first time in 16 years, and its expected profit of 135 billion yen ($1.3 billion) in the new fiscal year matches a goal it had set for itself to achieve two years from now.
The automaker currently focuses much of its efforts on Southeast Asia, which accounts for about a quarter of its sales. It will put even greater attention there in the coming years with more local production, according to Reuters.
Mitsubishi CEO vows to stay in US on heels of Suzuki's departure
Wed, 07 Nov 2012By now, you're surely aware that Suzuki is pulling out of the US market. It was a bit of a foregone conclusion to most who've been paying attention to the automotive realm, but it still sent a small shockwave through the industry. And one of the most oft-heard retorts goes something like this: "Next up: Mitsubishi."
It's easy to understand why many question Mitsubishi's existence in the States. After all, now that Suzuki is gone, Mitsubishi is the Japanese automaker with the fewest sales in America. Furthermore, the automaker's market share has dropped from .7 percent to just .4 percent after seeing sales fall 29 percent to 50,103 units through October.
In any case, Mitsubishi fans needn't worry. Speaking to Automotive News, Mitsubishi President Osamu Masuko said, "We have no intention whatsoever of withdrawing from the US market." That's about as clear as clear can get. It's also worth mentioning that Gayu Uesugi was just named chairman of Mitsubishi Motors North America, and his main responsibility will be to revitalize the brand in the US.
