Up for sale is a 2009 Mini Cooper S Convertible.

Here is the story of it:

This car carries a salvage title with "flood" marking, however, this particular Mini was not flooded at all.

The previous owner slightly scratched the car from the back of the driver's door to the rear wheel and subsequently brought the car to a body shop.

The body shop removed the plastic trim on the driver's side and prepared it to be painted.

I guess then came the storm (Hurricane Sandy) and while the insurance companies were in the correct mood of writing off all those flooded vehicles, the owner also decided to claim it flooded and get paid for it.

No evidence of water intrusion has been found ANYWHERE.

The car starts, runs and drives fine and none of the warning lights are present.

Mechanically it is in excellent condition with just 34 211 miles on it.

You would be able to come and drive the car home, and then repair it later. Just bring your own plate.

The light brown heated leather interior is in perfect condition. It is a little dusty inside due to the missing driver's side window.

What needs to be done to make the car look perfect again:

1) Repair the driver's door and rear quarter panel.

2) Buy and replace approximately $400 worth of missing parts: driver door glass $80, fuel filler door $50, front wheel housing flare $80, rear wheel housing flare $60, side marker light $25
, fuse box cover ($20), plastic pistons. Given are approximate prices of NEW OEM parts ordered online.

3) Wash the car and detail the interior.

4) The radio turns on but there is no sound. Not sure why.

5) The convertible top opens half-way (to sunroof position) but it does not go all the way down. Needs to be looked at.

The driver's side door mirror and
driver's side door interior panel came from a salvage vehicle and are of a different color.

The Mini Cooper S comes with 1 (ONE) key. It has a 6-speed manual transmission and a 1.6 turbo engine.

The successful high bidder will need to submit a $500 deposit within 24 hours in order to secure the vehicle.

I can ship the vehicle worldwide, including Russia.

2013 Mini John Cooper Works

Tue, 30 Apr 2013

Location, Location, Location
Back in February, Mini invited me to come try out its brand-new Paceman coupe-crossover-hatchback thing in Puerto Rico, and not long after, I spit out a Quick Spin detailing my impressions of the little-big two-door. But here's what I didn't tell you: Mini also let me loose on those fine, curvaceous, tropical roads in its hottest hatch, the John Cooper Works GP. And while that behind-the-wheel gigglefest would have no doubt made for a story laden with positive notes and warm regards, the truth is, I only drove it for 15 minutes, so I couldn't in good conscience offer much of a story to you. (European Editor Matt Davis also got a short stint behind the wheel of the GP late last year.)
So for the sake of due diligence, I buckled down and spent a full eight days with the JCW GP back home in Detroit, just as springtime was starting to stick here in southeast Michigan. But after my time with the Mini, I was wishing that I could have just been left with my GP memories from Puerto Rico, where I was pushing the little hotbox hard around smooth corners and flexing every one of its muscles to eke out the full JCW GP experience in only a short timeframe.

Mini reveals new John Cooper Works concept ahead of Detroit

Tue, 17 Dec 2013

BMW effectively hit the reset button when it unveiled the new Mini at the LA Auto Show last month, opening the door to a whole raft of new variants to follow - and this is the first.
Set to be unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show next month is the new Mini John Cooper Works Concept, a show car that previews the next hot hatch from the Anglo-Saxon automaker. Mini isn't saying much about what makes it tick, focusing instead of the design that sets it apart from the standard version we've already seen.
This JCW concept features a lustrous grey paintjob with bright red accents, 18-inch alloys and an upgraded aero kit, all aimed at making the Mini look that much sportier. It's got bigger air intakes where the fog lights would be, LED headlamps, a black grille frame, side skirts, a rear bumper with diffuser insert and a roof-mounted spoiler.

2013 Mini Countryman gets updates

Thu, 01 Nov 2012

It's been two years since the debut of Mini's Countryman crossover. In that time, the general public has indeed warmed to the idea of a big Mini - we grew to rather like it during our long-term test - and for 2013, a few small, thoughtful updates are on tap for the brand's range-topper.
The big change for the Countryman concerns the power window toggles, though Mini would also like you to notice the new Carbon Black ring around the center speedometer and new interior colors. Mini window controls have long resided in the center console, lost among the number of other buttons. The new Countryman breaks with that trend by moving the buttons to the door armrest, where it is located on most other passenger vehicles. We first saw this on the production Paceman that debuted in Paris earlier this year. This location also allows for a multi-button panel on the driver's side door. Previously, opening and closing all windows meant hitting each button individually.
Also of note is the removal of the two standard bucket seats in the second row, instead being replaced with a bench seat. Those who appreciate the customizable center rail in four-seat models can still select rear bucket seats, however. The 2013 Countryman is scheduled to hit European dealers sometime in November with US sales to follow shortly thereafter.
