1969 Morris Mini for Sale

......please be patient while the many photos load.....

Very cool and clean little 1969 Morris Mini for sale. Super clean, newer interior and nice body with no rust or rot on an older, shiny but nice looking paint job. Good glass, trim & chrome. Starts; runs and drives great with lot's of power. I don't know when the engine was built but our British mechanic checked it and compression is 140-145 across the board. Recent tune up, spark plugs and he just installed a new manifold gasket. (You'll see that when I shot the photos that the bonnet was misaligned from having it off the car to do the work, we just took care of this). The syncromesh 4-speed transmission shifts great up and down through all of the gears. The brakes are quick and responsive with 7" discs upfront and drums on the rear and the car has brand new tires on the 10" rims. It has been wired with antenna and speakers and ready for your sound system. The lights are all in working order as are the gauges. It's turn key and ready to enjoy.

The car is Australian built which is why it has a Mk1 body. When the Mk2 cars were released in Australia, cost constraints on production meant they did not inherit the changes made to the body, such as the grille and the larger rear window. In addition, the Australian Mini was a bit different from the UK car because they already had made several smaller changes as well such as roll up windows. In the end it was the non-Cooper S that received greater improvements than it's sportier sibling. The biggest change for this early Mk2 was a syncromesh transmission.

I've been driving the car a lot over the last few weeks and know it well so feel free to call me at 707-332-8331 if you'd like. Thanks for checking it out.

There are another 105 pictures in addition to what you see here as well as video so you can see and hear her run. See the link at the bottom of the page following the first 51 image slide show.

Mini Superleggera Vision Concept keeps us hangin' on [w/video]

Fri, 03 Oct 2014

Mini's Superleggera Vision Concept may not be a Paris Motor Show debut, but this is the first time we've seen this stunning all-electric roadster in the metal, having been first shown on the tony shores of Lake Como at Villa D'Este in May. While it's small in stature, it's still big on both presence and detail, from its overall stubby yet sleek proportions to its Union Jack taillamps, Jaguar-esque rear fin and elegant rearview mirrors.
We still don't know much more about what powers this Touring Superleggera coachbuilt showcar, as any powertrain specifics are conspicuous by their absence, but we'd welcome both a pure electric version and something powered by the BMW/Mini turbocharged three-cylinder currently making the rounds in the new Mini Cooper.
Last we heard in September, any decisions on a production future for the Superleggera Vision have been tabled, with word being that a further six months of study is planned before Mini decides to greenlight or nix the project. We'd love to tell you that the fact that it's here in Paris is a great sign, but we wouldn't believe us, either.

Mini Cooper five-door exists and has been spotted

Fri, 09 Nov 2012

The two-door Mini Cooper is getting two additional portals in its next generation. A coming five-door Cooper S with central exhaust has been spotted out testing, the idea presumably being that it will pose a better challenge to other small, premium hatches in the segment like the A1 Sportback from Audi. Based on the same UKL platform that will support the production version of the BMW Concept Active Tourer, the wheelbase has been lengthened to make more room for rear passengers.
It should be revealed on the auto show circuit at some point next year, getting buyers ready for its production in 2014. We'll find out then if it gets a special name and how it fits in with - or perhaps replaces - the Clubman.

Road & Track names its 2013 Performance Car of the Year

Thu, 14 Nov 2013

Road & Track recently staged its first annual Performance Car of the Year test, pitting 13 new and updated performance cars against each other on track, then graduating the top six to a road test before picking a winner. Additionally, the magazine staff picked the best automobiles of the year in eight categories.
But first, let's cover the PCotY segment. Here's the list of cars brought to the comparison test: Audi R8 V10 Plus; BMW 435i; BMW M6 Competition Package; Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51; Ferrari F12 Berlinetta; Ford Fiesta ST; Jaguar F-Type V8 S; Jaguar XFR-S; Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S-Model Wagon; Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series; Mini John Cooper Works GP; Nissan GT-R Track Edition; and Porsche Cayman S.
To find out the results of the comparison, head over to Road & Track's website or check the press release below, where you'll also find the magazine's top-rated vehicles in eight categories. Want more? Head over to the 2013 PCotY hub. But before you do that, take a stab at guessing the winner of PCotY (we'll give you one hint: it isn't a Porsche).
