Up for sale is a 2002 Mercury Villager Estate Mini-Van/Wagon. This mini van/wagon is for parts or repair only. The transmission went out on the van and it has some smog issues so that's why it's being sold for parts or repair only. The motor starts up good and has no issues with the motor's functionality. There is a hose, behind the motor, close to the firewall, that is leaking and needs to be replaced. There are some sensors that need to be replaced so that the van will pass smog. The van is registered but it doesn't have the 2014 sticker as it hasn't passed smog and registration is due next month. The tires are about a year and a half old and are still in good shape, about 3/4 tread on them. The battery is new, this year. The interior is in ok shape, not the greatest. The body is in ok decent shape, except where someone side swiped the passenger side of the van. The tranny went out when we were driving the van. It has tranny fluid so we don't know what happened. The van has 137,000 miles on it. We have had the van since 2005 and it's been a great van. We have never had any major problems with it other than this. I would fix it but I've been out of work for quite a while and I just can't afford it. This is a local pick up auction only. You will have to have it towed to your location as It does not drive and you will need a tow truck or tow hitch to do this and I will not have it towed for you because once you buy it, it's your responsibility. If you don't understand this, please don't bid. If your looking for a motor, tires, body parts, then here it is. I prefer cash on this auction as eBay is going to take alot from me in fees. If you prefer to pay through Paypal, payment is due within 3 days of the end of the auction. Ford recalls Five Hundred, Mercury Montego sedans over fuel tank woes
Mon, 18 Jul 2011Ford has announced through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that it is recalling nearly 3,000 examples of its Five Hundred and Mercury Montego (pictured) sedans from the 2007 model year.
The action, which affects 2,945 vehicles, is due to potentially defective welds between the filler neck and the fuel tank, a condition that could result in a fuel leak or the smell of gasoline reaching the occupants. In the worst-case scenario, a leak could cause a fire. Cars with the affected fuel tank problem could see an illuminated dashboard warning light as a result of the evaporative emissions leak being detected.
Ford will inspect and replace the fuel tank at no cost to owners (those who have already had the procedure done at-cost can apply for reimbursement), and the Dearborn automaker will begin notifying Five Hundred and Montego owners beginning August 15. Feds open investigation into Chevy Express, Ford Freestar rust issues

Well, for Ford and General Motors, a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation. According to The Detroit News, NHTSA is looking into potential recalls issues with Chevrolet Express vans and Ford Freestar minivans.
The feds have received five complaints that rust has caused leaking fuel filler pipes on 2003 Express vans. Separately, seven complaints have been filed over excessive rust in the rear wheel wells of 2004 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans. The Freestar and Monterey went out of production in 2007. Neither issue has resulted in any crashes or injuries, according to the report.
