MUST SEE THIS CAR IN PERSON. Only 78,000 original, single-owner miles. This was my wife's grandfather's car until March of this year. The paint and body are in excellent condition. It had been garaged every night until it was given to us. The paint is in unbelievable condition and the body is literally flawless. Upholstery and other cosmetics inside are in great shape. As far as items that are showing their age; A/C does not work, it may be something simple, I have not investigated it. The stereo speakers need some attention (a little crackly, I assume just old wires), the wipers only work in the medium speed, and the back-lighting for the environmental panel is out. With two kids, we can't justify owning this car any more, and Granddad says to sell to it. It really is an incredible find, and it's time for someone else to enjoy this great car. Of note, those are water spots on the ground in the pictures, because I had just washed it. Thank you. |

NFL player Alfred Morris receives his thoroughly restored 1991 Mazda 626
Tue, 15 Oct 2013Washington Redskins starting running back Alfred Morris might not drive a flashy sports car or SUV, but after today, he'll be driving the nicest 1991 Mazda 626 on the planet.
Back in July, Morris temporarily traded in his 626 - cheekily named Bentley - for a 2014 Mazda6 loaner courtesy of Mazda, and today the sedan was presented back to him after the ultimate PR stunt: a reported 275-man-hour restoration that left this 22-year-old daily driver looking like it just rolled off the assembly line.
Not everything was brought back to original condition, though. The expired sticker from Morris' final year at Florida Atlantic University was left on the windshield, but to fit the car's nickname, a few high-end touches were added to the interior. This includes the quilted, cross-stitched leather seats (just like a real Bentley) and the touchscreen Pioneer audio system. There's also a plaque under the hood marking this car as the "Alfred Morris Project."
Tow truck driver hilariously bad at righting a flipped Mazda
Wed, 30 Oct 2013Can rolling your car get any worse? The correct answer is yes, as this poor soul found out when he rolled his Mazda3 onto its side. Calling a tow truck might be a logical, post-rollover move, but in this case, it kind of made the situation worse.

Mazda CEO predicts record US sales in next 2 years
Mon, 18 Nov 2013The recently appointed CEO of Mazda is apparently quite the optimist, claiming that the Japanese brand, renowned for its Zoom-Zoom driving character (and more recently its sleek, refined designs and Skyactiv efficiency), is claiming the company will record its best-ever US sales within the next two years. According to a report from Automotive News, Masamichi Kogai expects Mazda to move 400,000 of its Kodo-styled vehicles in the increasingly competitive US market by March 2016, with the recently launched Mazda3 leading the charge. "It will impacted considerably by the trend of the U.S. industry. But... it's my hope we achieve the record by that time," Kogai tells AN.
The brand is currently targeting 300,000 units by the end of this fiscal year in March 2014. Given that production and sales of the Mazda3 (and consumer awareness of the 2014 Mazda6) is still picking up steam, it isn't a stretch to imagine Mazda, which sold 240,000 vehicles from January to October of 2013, hitting its target.
Along with the overall increase in sales numbers, Kogai is expecting the independent brand to take an even larger slice of the US sales pie, claiming 2.5 percent US market share, improving from its current 1.9-percent foothold so far in 2013. "I think the upper limit may be 2.5 percent for the time being," Kogai told AN, before pointing out, "We don't want to use a lot of incentives. That is not the sales approach we aspire toward."
