Up for sale is an AMAZING and RARE Solar Yellow 2007 Lotus Exige S with ~22,500 miles.
The car is in great condition and has always been babied. The Solar Yellow is one of the most sought after and rarest colors (along with Krypton Green!) and this baby will not last at this price. The color is essentially the equivalent of Lamborghini's $12,000 triple layer pearl yellow! This car came with the Touring Package (power windows, leather seats, etc.), traction control (crucial!), starshield (aka clearbra-- just as crucial!), and a few other cool bits. The car also has an upgraded exhaust custom made by 2bular, considered the experts in Lotus Exhaust systems. We wanted to make sure the car looked exotic... but also looked OEM. This was the best design. Twin tips coming out over the upgraded 5 element diffuser! This is the euro-style exhaust and turns heads everywhere it goes. It has a great, exotic bark to it when you are driving aggressively (people turn and take pictures!)... but it isn't obnoxious or overly loud. You can easily have a conversation on your cell phone! Check out the pictures and imagine this bad boy in your garage or driving it to grab a bite to eat and having them park it right in front. It's phenomenal! By far, the most reliable and fun exotic out there... Oh, and it's FASTER than most other exotics out there too! 3.8 seconds to 60 is pretty hard to beat! Get the attention you deserve everywhere you go! And don't worry about crazy maintenance costs! NOTE: Had a small crack in the back above the license plate (~1 inch) that was fixed by the #1 lotus body shop in the country! That is the "minor incident" on the carfax... Lotus renames Russell Carr its head of design
Wed, 22 Oct 2014There's been a changing of the guard at Lotus recently. The legendary British sports car manufacturer fired its controversial chief executive Dany Bahar and replaced him recently with Jean-Marc Gales. And now it's named a new chief designer. Or rather, renamed its old one to the post.
That designer is the appropriately named Russell Carr, who had previously held the post until Bahar brought in his former compatriot Donato Coco (with whom he had previously served at Ferrari) and charged him with designing a series of ambitious but ill-fated concept cars that debuted at the 2010 Paris Motor Show and were subsequently axed on Bahar's way out. Now Coco has been shown the door as well, effective at the end of this month. In his place, Carr - who has been with Lotus since 1990 - has been given back his old job after having been demoted to playing second fiddle to Coco for five years.
Although both Gales and Coco both served in senior positions at PSA Peugeot Citroën, Gales didn't join the French automaker until 2009 - the same year that Coco joined Lotus, five years after having left PSA to work at Ferrari.
Lotus Exige S Roadster coming this summer to a circuit near you
Wed, 01 May 2013We haven't heard much about the Lotus Exige S Roadster since we first saw it at the Geneva Motor Show last year, but Lotus is now confirming the car will go on sale this summer. Of course, unless anything has changed since the car was introduced, Lotus' "ultimate roadster" will still not be coming to the US.
Lotus has released a new video showing its 345-horsepower roadster in action, and while it doesn't even show that much of the car, you can check out our live images of the Exige S Roadster in our gallery. The video, which looks like a knockoff of a Universal Studios movie trailer, is posted below.
Race Recap: 2013 Japanese Grand Prix flips several scripts [spoilers]
Mon, 14 Oct 2013Japan's Suzuka circuit is a great track that all the drivers love, but it doesn't usually provide the most thrilling, head-to-head racing. Where it does excel, however, is with surprises and "What just happened there?!" moments, and this year it was no different.
It started with Mark Webber in his Infiniti Red Bull Racing out-qualifying his teammate Sebastian Vettel for the first time this year. They were followed closely by Lewis Hamilton in the first Mercedes-AMG Petronas, the still-solid Romain Grosjean again outdoing teammate Kimi Räikkönen, Felipe Massa racing for another seat in Formula One and putting his Ferrari in fifth, then Nico Rosberg in the second Mercedes, Nico Hülkenberg in the first Sauber, Fernando Alonso in the second Ferrari, and Räikkönen continuing to do himself no favors by qualifying tenth.
For the second year in a row, the lights going out was the cue to start the first corner action...
