2004 LOTUS ESPRIT - YELLOW / BLACK - ONLY 15K MILES!!
8-CYLINDER 3.5L 350HP TWIN TURBO
It has been 10 years since Lotus ended production of their most iconic and longest produced vehicle of all time!! Although there have been many different variations of the Esprit since 1976, it has always retained its famous wedge shaped body design. As all things, it has been refined and changed through the years to compete with the current sports car market. For the money the Esprit was always the good looking under dog that was loaded with power and ability! Adapted from a 4 cylinder turbo to a V8 twin-turbo set up in 1997 this beast became a raging monster that is still one of the most under rated sports cars avaiable today. With 350 HP to the rear wheels and 295 Ft/Lbs of torque this beast gets off the line in a big hurry (4.2 sec 0-60). Brand new, the Final Edition cars sold for just a shade under $100,000, which was a great deal compared to its most recognized competition of the Lamborghini Gallardo (400HP) at $165k base price and a Ferrari 360 (400 HP) at $150k base price. Now the thing you need to remeber is that the Lotus is rated at 350 HP to the rear wheels, so at the crank it puts out more like 375-380 HP. And of course when you start to add on options to your Ferrari or Lamborghini you will see the price hit $200k and more. So for a touch more performance, people were paying nearly double the money. The best part is, the Esprit is far more exclusive then either of these cars. There were only about 10,675 made since 1976 and only about 13 total for 2004. This is a rare piece of Lotus history, and best of all it is in the true Lotus colors, Yellow/Black.
This is the final year for the Esprit and 2004 models include Eibach springs, Bilstein shocks, and adjustable spring platforms. Updates include stainless steel grilles in front spoiler, restyled rear valence, engine builder's signature on intake plenum, diamond pattern seat stitching, shortened gear lever with brushed aluminum knob, and tire pressure monitor.
You will not find a nicer Final Edition car around. They do not come up for sale very often, but this car was sold to one of our local customers a few years ago and after some chasing we were able to buy it back. We are proud to offer this 2004 Final Edition Lotus Esprit for sale!! It offers both keys, 2 tops (glass and body colored) and original books. This car also had the OEM wheels Chrome dipped which are still in excellent condition!! This Esprit, looks runs and drives like a car with no miles!! It has been well kept and preserved for the owners to come. This 2 owner Esprit is worth every penny and will be collectible for many years to come!!
Do not miss out on this fantastic piece of Lotus history!! It will not last long!!
This Gorgeous Esprit Comes with 2 Keys, 2 Remotes and Books!!

Detractors will tell you that there's little to be applied from Formula One racing to the cars we drive, but what about the cars most of us could only dream of driving? We're talking about supercars from the likes of Ferrari and McLaren - two hugely successful F1 racing teams that have successfully made the transition into building exotic sports cars for the road. And soon there may be one more.
That would be the Lotus F1 Team, which is rumored to be working on a sports car project of its own. Now we know what you might be thinking: Lotus already makes sports cars. Indeed they do, only the F1 team has nothing more to do with the automaker behind the Exige and Evora than the name they share. Today the team (formerly known as Toleman, Benetton and Renault) is owned by Genii Capital, whose chairman Gerald Lopez recently confirmed the rumors to Auto Motor und Sport: "We are going to develop a carbon chassis for a sports car that can be built in large quantities.... But this has nothing to do with Formula 1."
With little to nothing in the way of details available, the circulating rumors had tied the venture to on-again, off-again Italian auto marque De Tomaso. But our source at ATS (which recently bought the rights to the De Tomaso name following Gian Mario Rossignolo's aborted attempt to revive it) firmly denied the prospect of any such collaboration. Spokesmen for the Lotus F1 Team would not divulge any information; neither would the press office for parent company Genii Capital, leaving the door wide open to speculation once again.

The team currently known as Lotus has had a long string of accomplished drivers behind the wheel, including world champions like Nelson Piquet, Michael Schumacher, Jenson Button, Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen. But Kimi is returning to Ferrari next season, leaving a big question mark over who would fill his seat. And now we have our answer.
Lotus has just announced that it has signed Pastor Maldonado to partner with Romain Grosjean for next season. The surprise winner of the 2012 Spanish Grand Prix has been driving for Williams for the past three seasons, signed after he won the GP2 title in 2010. Though lauded as an emerging talent, Maldonado is clearly not the accomplished champion Raikkonen is, however Lotus apparently needs the money which Maldonado brings with him in the form of sponsorship from the Venezuelan state oil company PDVSA.
Meanwhile, Romain Grosjean, also a former GP2 champion, has been with the team for some time now, starting as its test driver in 2008, promoted for one season to the race seat in 2009, and returning again in 2012. He's been the second driver at Lotus ever since, achieving career-best second-place finishes at the 2012 Canadian Grand Prix and 2013 United States Grand Prix. Whether it will be Grosjean (who gets the higher number) or Maldonado that emerges as the dominant force at Lotus remains to be seen. Scroll down for the complete press release.

Two years ago, we were gobsmacked when humble Lotus shocked the automotive world by wheeling out no fewer than five new models - admittedly in various stages of development - at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. The ambitious onslaught of new sheetmetal came at the behest of then-CEO Danny Bahar who aimed to broaden the British marque's appeal by dramatically expanding its portfolio. Bahar was later thrown out by new Malaysian owners DRB-Hicom in a management shakeup that seems to still be, well, shaking out. Bahar was deposed over accusations of financial wrongdoing and the controversial executive has fired back with a $10.6M lawsuit.
Against this chaotic background, a cornerstone of Lotus' revival plans hinged on the rebirth of its Esprit supercar (shown in 2010 concept form above). According to new reports, however, the Esprit has been cancelled, a victim of the company's uncertain finances and direction. Depending on which rumor you choose to believe, the two-seat coupe was slated to receive a house-built V8 and possibly turbocharging or hybrid power. That may all be moot now, however, as DRB-Hicom is reported to have scrapped Bahar's plans wholesale, a development that apparently includes killing off the mid-engined Esprit, too.
UPDATE: And this, friends, is why we have this story with a question mark and a Rumormill tag - Lotus is denying that the Esprit has been killed off.
