2005 Lotus Elise.
This car is in EXCELLENT condition! Just look at it!
It's like brand-new but it isn't perfect!
Pictures speak a thousand words, so please look at each picture or have someone come and inspect if you are
worried about the condition of the car. It runs great and drives strong.
It has NO leaks. It has one main problem - the check engine light for the aftermarket exhaust. It has never been
"tracked." It has never been "curbed"
This car is currently located in the greater Salt Lake City, Utah area and I will assist the new owner with
shipping or picking up, so long as your requests are reasonable; e.g. - pick you up at the airport, etc.
It drives AWESOME with no stearing problems or any other problem except those noted in here.
The car has EAGLE F-1 Rear Tires that were put on in 2008.
Factory Stereo that plays CDs and MP3 CDs (works great).
Touring Package.
SOFT TOP INCLUDED and in excellent condition (as seen in pictures)!
NO HARD TOP, REPEAT - IT DOES NOT COME WITH A HARD TOP. SOFT TOP ONLY.
I've never driven it in the rain or snow and have kept it garaged since I've owned it (I am the 2nd owner). I
HAVE ALL SERVICE RECORDS FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER - Originally a Florida car). Between 2005-2008 the car was in
Florida and got about 9,500 miles on it. The rest of the miles have been between 2008 and today. I have the
original owner's manual.
Sorry, no factory warranty.
It is NOT due for an oil change until March 2017.
New battery in 2015.
You should be aware that it has an aftermarket exhaust on it and if the car sits too long the check engine light
comes on. The car just needs to be driven and the code cleared and it will stay off (that's what the Lotus
dealership told me).
No other problems other than those listed in here.
2 keys and 2 remotes with owner's manual (one of the keys is a blackwatch key).
Never been smoked in.
No accidents.
It's a blast to drive and I love it!
BUT my wife HATES the car because "EVERYONE STARES AT YOU WHEN YOU DRIVE IT"
Body Style Convertible
Mileage 12,345 - I still drive it, so it might be slightly higher. (I only put 155 miles on it last year)
Exterior Color CHROME ORANGE (it sparkles in the sun)
Interior Color BLACK LEATHER
Engine 4 Cylinder Gasoline (with aftermarket exhaust and air intake that sounds AWESOME)
Transmission Manual
Drive Type 2 wheel drive - rear
Fuel Type Gasoline
Doors Two Door
VIN SCCPC11175HL32298
Installed Features
* Driver's Air Bag
* Anti-Lock Brakes
* Air Conditioning
* Alloy Wheels

Lotus Evora S IPS automatic transmission option arrives in October [w/video]

Sat, 28 Jul 2012

The Lotus Evora S IPS that the company showed drifting all around its test track earlier this year will be available in October, says Car and Driver. The kinder, gentler Lotus is fitted with the six-speed Intelligent Precision Shift transmission, an Aisin unit swiped from the Toyota Camry and retuned with Lotus electronics and actuators.
There are two 'regular' modes and two 'sport' modes on the IPS gearbox. The former include a traditional hands-off automatic and an auto mode with shifts handled by wheel-mounted paddles. The latter are a sport automatic setting that sharpens the car's responses and a manual sport mode for total driver control. The Evora S IPS hits showrooms in October. For now, you can take a look at Lotus' test driver giving it the beans in the video below.

Race Recap: 2013 Indian Grand Prix mostly calm with chances of Championships

Mon, 28 Oct 2013

The smog around the Buddh International Circuit got so bad over the weekend that the FIA had to change the practice sessions. Then the soft tires that Pirelli brought to be the options were found to degrade so quickly that teams had to change their qualifying and race strategies. The only man it didn't seem to affect was - guess who? - Sebastian Vettel, who put his Infiniti Red Bull Racing on pole position.
Behind him came Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton in the Mercedes-AMG Petronas, Mark Webber in the second Infiniti Red Bull and on medium tires, Felipe Massa in the first Ferrari, Kimi Räikkönen in the first Lotus, Nico Hülkenberg in the first Sauber, Fernando Alonso in the second Ferrari, and the McLaren duo of Sergio Perez and Jenson Button. The tire strategizing didn't work out for Romain Grosjean in the second Lotus, who didn't get out of Q1 after only running the medium compound tire and lined up 17th.
The Indian Grand Prix has been held twice and Vettel has led every single lap of both races. If nothing else, we knew there would be at least one new thing about this Indian Grand Prix: there'd be a lap not led by Vettel since he qualified on softs and would have to pit before Webber and Alonso who were both on mediums.

Lotus recalls 2008-2011 Elise, Exige and 2011 Evora over fire fear

Mon, 07 Jul 2014

Lotus is recalling 860 vehicles after discovering that the oil cooler hose could detach from its fitting. Should the hose separate, it could spray oil on one of the lightweight car's tires, giving new meaning to the phrase "sudden loss of grip." The other case is, believe or not, more dire, as the spraying oil could hit the engine and ignite. Of course, neither situation is desirable, hence the recall.
The vast majority of the affected vehicles (780 of the 860) are the 2008 to 2011 Elise and Exige, built between November 2007 and July 2011. Another 80 Evora S coupes from 2011, manufactured between September 2010 and September 2011, are also included in the recall.
All repairs will, naturally, be completed free of charge. In the Elise/Exige's case, that means replacing the hose fittings, while the affected Evoras will get a new hose assembly.
