4 Door Convertible Suicide Doors on 2040-cars

US $35,000.00
Year:1967 Mileage:144400
Location:

Encino, California, United States

Encino, California, United States

I purchased this car in 2006 and to date have spent about $30,000 restoring it as a hobby project.

I'm in the middle of buying a house and it's time to sell the project I haven't finished.

John Cashman (a known specialist on Lincolns) rebuilt the convertible top, doors with new window motors & switches and will vouch for it's condition and value.
Car has a few dents & needs a paint job.
It needs the steering column rebuilt: I have an extra one with a new turn signal switch, which I will provide.
I rebuilt the brakes, master cyl, booster, power steering, and recently put 4 new whitewall radial american classic tires.
New battery, starter, solenoid, cables, new headlights.
Engine has 20,000 miles on it.  Transmission was rebuilt 5 months ago.
I've gone thru the entire vehicle and replaced everything.
New brake lines, replaced all bearings front and back and all bushings, steering arms....

I have the receipts of everything I've done in an organized folder and in Pdf and can email it

I'll also provide the manual & a digital copy on a disk.

New carpet & black convertible top. All the chrome is nice.
I kept the car as original as I could other than electronic ignition conversion.
Installed a 4-Core high density radiator.

This car is mechanically restored and just needs a paint job, otherwise it's a really nice running vehicle.

I prefer a local buyer but I'm not opposed to selling to anyone who is serious and does not waste my time.

Buyer pays for any shipping and handling.

Funds must be verified before the vehicle is released.

If you are looking for a 67 Lincoln Continental that never breaks down, is in great condition and drives nice:  this is your vehicle.

If you are new to these cars and have always wanted to own one, I'll help you with the knowledge and resources to be able to maintain your vehicle and allow your investment to mature and continue to run without ever being stuck for any reason, like finding parts....

Please feel free to contact me for questions anytime.

Good luck bidding.

Lincoln MKC prototype caught partially covered, reveals some changes

Tue, 14 May 2013

When Lincoln pulled the wraps off the MKC Concept at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year, we said that the very attractive concept was going to closely mirror the production vehicle. With few exceptions, a clad prototype recently caught running on public roads seems to substantiate our statement.
From what the pictures reveal, the disguised Lincoln MKC production mule and show concept seem to share the same waistline with identical sculpting over the wheels. The midsection of the two also appear to match with the same flare and styling. The lower rockers have been cleaned up a bit, mainly to be more practical in the real world (the deep chisels on the show car would have collected mud and snow).
Taking a look at the exposed front bumper, we see a very similar lower fascia complete wtih the metal skid plate on the chin. The window profile also seems to match the concept, though we're still unclear exactly how that C- and D-pillar section is going to look. Of course, and it always seems to be the case when concepts evolve into production vehicles, the MKC gains four normal door handles, standard-sized mirrors and a slightly smaller wheel/tire package. We expect the production version of the Lincoln MKC to debut later this year.

Consumer Reports explains its disdain for infotainment

Thu, 20 Mar 2014

One of the perks of reviewing all manner of cars and trucks is that we're exposed to all the different infotainment systems. Whether Cadillac's CUE, Chrysler's UConnect, BMW's iDrive or MyFord Touch, we sample each and every infotainment system on the market.
Not surprisingly, some are better than others. It seems consumers have come to a similar consensus, with Consumer Reports claiming that Ford and Lincoln, Cadillac and Honda offer the worst user infotainment experiences. Not surprisingly, you won't find much argument among the Autoblog staff.
Take a look below to see just what it is about the latest batch of infotainment systems that grinds CR's gears. After that, scroll down into Comments and let us know if you agree with the mag's views.

Ford's J Mays feels vindicated by Fusion reception

Tue, 25 Sep 2012

It's hard to think back now, but the same man overseeing the design of the 2013 Ford Fusion also presided over a rather lackluster period in Ford design, highlighted by vehicles like the Five Hundred and Freestyle. With the redesigned Fusion receiving high praise, J Mays tells Automotive News that he feels vindicated from criticisms suggesting he's not a daring enough designer.
When Mays took over as lead of design in 1997, he admits to having quite an ego ("My head would barely fit through the door some days. I've long since gotten over myself") and the workload to match. With the Blue Oval's portfolio full of premium brands like Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo at that point, along with the bread-and-butter Ford, Lincoln and Mercury models, Mays certainly had quite the challenge.
It was in the mid-2000s that Mays took over just the premium brands, and took on the new title of Chief Creative Officer. At the time, Mays endured some criticism for looking backwards to retro styling, rather than setting a new standard for American car design - criticism that Mays says he is free from with the all-new Fusion.
