I am selling my father's 2004 Kia Amanti. Don't let the miles fool you! My father bought this car brand new in April of 2004, with 101 miles on it. He is the only and original owner. I have maintenance records backing all the way from day one. My father commuted from Massachusetts to New Hampshire and Maine for work. That is the reason for high miles. Drives as if it was brand new again. Options include, leather seats, Infinit sound system, 6-disc cd changer, Cassette player, digital display of temperature, climate control, MPG, Miles to Empty, etc. People often confuse this car with a Jaguar S-type. He also had an automatic starter put in the vehicle. There is not one spot of rust on this car! There are no check engine lights on, service lights on, etc. No stories!! Car also has a current Massachusetts Safety and Emission sticker on it. Car is flawless and has a clean title. My father paid cash for it brand new so there was never even a loan on it. 2014 Kia Sorento garners five-star NHTSA rating
Wed, 25 Sep 2013The 2014 Kia Sorento has just earned a five-start crash-test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, as well as a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
According to Kia, the new Sorento scored well in both frontal and side-impact crash tests, while also netting high marks in rollover testing. Orth Hedrick, Kia's American director of product planning said, "Already a compelling entry in the compact CUV category, earning a five-Star rating from NHTSA makes the Sorento an even stronger contender within its segment while underscoring Kia's overall commitment to delivering safety and exceptional value to our customers."
The Sorento joins the Sportage within the Kia range, and the Honda CR-V, Hyundai Santa Fe Sport, Mazda CX-5 and Subaru Forester in netting a five-star score in the small, CUV segment. Take a look below for the official press release from Kia.
Insider trading ahead of Hyundai-Kia MPG debacle suspected
Fri, 21 Dec 2012Reuters is reporting that large-scale insider trading may be at the heart of some particularly fishy stock-selling behavior, just prior to the original announcement about the Hyundai-Kia fuel economy ratings debacle.
On November 1st, Hyundai-Kia shares traded roughly 2.2 million times (the single highest-volume day of the year), and the stock price fell by about four percent. For reference, a standard daily trading volume for the stock in 2012 saw about 600k shares trading hands. On November 2nd, the company made public the bad news about the dropping fuel economy ratings for many of its models. In other words: No one outside of the company (and only a smallish group inside the company, we'd imagine) should have known anything about the impending bad news as of the first day of November. After the announcement, the stock price tanked, as you'd expect, and trading volume was way down as well.
Experts seem fully aware that the whole thing reeks of leaked information and subsequent insider trading. If chicanery on this sort of scale seems wacky to you, you'd be inline with the experts who report to Reuters that the level of trading is absolutely suspicious.
Kia GT4 Stinger concept headed for Detroit with 315 rear-drive horsepower
Thu, 02 Jan 2014With reveals expected to include the 2015 Ford F-150, the new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and the high-strung Lexus RC F performance coupe (among many others), there are plenty of vehicles we're looking forward to seeing at the Detroit Auto Show. But now, with a rendered teaser image and short press release that includes some savory details, Kia may have just hit the top of our list with its GT4 Stinger Concept. Not even looking at the above image (which you can click to enlarge), Kia managed to grab our interest with just one sentence in said release detailing the car's powertrain: "A turbocharged 2.0-liter that pumps 315 horsepower to the rear wheels."
This low, wide concept has the face of a Kia-fied Audi R8, but the previous teaser stated that the concept will be a 2+2 hatchback. There is little other information to go on, but we'll see the concept car live in just 10 days. Until then, scroll down for the brief press release.
