1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer
A Fine 'Woody' Specimen
This is a truly great example of a classic and one that's incredibly hard to come by with this few original miles.

This is the first Luxury SUV in existence. Jeep Grand Wagoneers are widely regarded as one of the best SUV's of all time. This "Woody" is in excellent shape. It is a 2 Owner Jeep with 87,227 original miles. This Jeep has been garaged its whole life in Idaho. We purchased the Jeep in May and restored the mechanical function to near perfect and have decided to sell. My wife decided she just likes the feel of a modern fuel-inhjected SUV for every-day driving. This Wagoneer is ready for the road though. I have and will be driving it daily until we sell it. It is truly a Wagoneer that can be driven anywhere. Even at 65 miles an hour on the highway she stays steady and straight down the road.

The exterior is in amazing shape, as is the interior, and mechanically we have put a lot of money into it to make it perfectly road-ready. The AC has been converted to R134 Freon and blows cold as ice, the Carb has been completely overhauled, leaks in the transmission lines and in the pinion seal have been repaired. The valve cover gasket has been replaced, corroded wiring has been replaced, the fuel pump was replaced, a fuel supply pump was also added, the cooling fan clutch was replaced, a brand new pair of Michelin tires was put on in late June, it has a brand new exhaust and catalytic converter, the steering and tilt joint on the steering column were replaced and tightened, and a few lock cylinders were also replaced. Many other items have been repaired or addressed, but the overall goal was to make it a daily driver and thats what it is! the few things left to do if someone wanted a 10/10 would be to address the rear main seal leak in the engine, add door lock actuators for the power locks to work (not expensive at all if you're handy), and the wood spoiler needs re-finishing, re carpet the tailgate as a few spots are torn, and an after market radio could be added. There are minor cosmetic flaws along the interior and exterior that would be generally expected for a 24 year old car.

Here is what works in addition to what was repaired: All power windows and seats, head lights, tail lights and turn signals, the jeep starts runs and drives very well, the back window DOES work and allows you to put the tailgate down, wipers, AC / Heat, interior lights, temp gauge compass and clock, powers seats, power mirrors, and horn all work perfectly. Almost everything works and works well for normal daily use.

This Beauty is Ready for the road and for an owner who wants her on the weekends or for everyday commuting.
You'll be hard-pressed to find a better original condition Wagoneer with under 100K Miles for this price.
This truck is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early.  Email me with any questions you may have.

Chrysler, Nissan looking into claim that their cars are industry's most hackable

Sun, 10 Aug 2014

A pair of cyber security experts have awarded the ignominious title of most hackable vehicles on American roads to the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, 2014 Infiniti Q50 and 2015 Cadillac Escalade.
Charlie Miller and Chris Valasek are set to release a report at the Black Hat hacking conference in Las Vegas, Automotive News reports. The two men found the Jeep, Caddy and Q50 were easiest to hack based not on actual tests with the vehicles, but a detailed analysis of systems like Bluetooth and wireless internet access - basically, anything that'd allow a hacker to remotely gain access to the vehicle's systems.
Considering this lack of hands-on testing, the pair acknowledge that "most hackable" could be a relative term - they point out that the vehicles may actually be quite secure.

Total auto recalls already on record pace in 2014

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

If you've noticed that there have been more recalls than usual this year, you may be on to something. According to a report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the US market is on pace to break a record for recalls. In 2013, 22 million cars were recalled. We're only a third of the way through 2014, though, and we've already halved that figure, with 11 million units recalled. That's wild.
Considering the past few months, it shouldn't be a surprise that General Motors is leading the charge, with six million of the 11 million units recalled coming from one of the General's four brands. Between truck recalls, CUV recalls and the ignition switch recall, 2014 hasn't been a great year for GM.
Other recall leaders include Nissan (one million Sentra and Altima sedans), Honda (900,000 Odyssey minivans), Toyota (over one million units in a few recalls), Volkswagen (150,000 Passat sedans), Chrysler (644,000 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs) and most recently, Ford (434,000 units, the bulk of which were early Ford Escape CUVs). So while it's been a bad year for GM so far, its competitors aren't doing too well, either.

Ward's releases 10 Best Interiors list for 2014

Thu, 10 Apr 2014

While we're still a ways off from the automotive awards season proper, where things like North American Car and Truck of the Year, Motor Trend's Car of the Year and Car and Driver's Ten Best are named, that doesn't mean there aren't trophies being handed out to deserving automakers. Ward's 10 Best Interiors being one of them.
As the name might imply, the magazine focuses on the very best interior treatments in the US market. Whereas some awards purposely exclude extreme, high-dollar offerings, Ward's considers them - the only requirement is that a vehicle has a "new or significantly redesigned interior."
Ward's offered up the list of winners in simple, alphabetical order, and it only seems fair to do the same:
