1991 Grand Wagoneer Rare Hunter Green Final Year on 2040-cars
Santa Rosa, California, United States
You are looking at the "Needle In The Hay Stack" -- The Holy Grail of Jeep Wagoneers.......a 1991 Final Production Hunter Green, Rust Free, Near Perfect Car! It is estimated that fewer than 150 were produced. How many are still on the road and for that matter of the few remaining how many are in this pristine condition? This car is a 10 out of 10 both mechanically and cosmetically. The rare Hunter Green has been renewed and it just shines. The wood graining is in great condition with only one or two very tiny nicks. The interior shows very little wear and has the very rare optional factory sunroof with the drain hoses just replaced. The interior benefited from a new headliner kit and carpet set. The car has been gone through from stem to stern mechanically. For starters all the windows work including the usually troublesome rear window. Our rear window moves freely from the dash and the rear key. Even our rear wiper wipes on command. Even though there are 124,900 miles on the frame the engine was treated to a full rebuild 14,000 miles ago. It runs strong and benefited from a complete tune up including fluids, filters, plugs, ignition wires, rotor cap, etc. A new carburetor was fitted as well as a new starter motor, new alternator and alternator belt. The brake rotors and shoes are new, as well as two wheel cylinders. The shocks are new, new U joints, new motor mounts, new motor mounts and the transmission filter replaced. The original radiator was replaced with a new unit and the fluids flushed and replaced. The exhaust system was replaced with a new muffler and tail pipe. A new set of Ryan Axle Bearings, Carrier Bearings and a new set of Pinion Bearings were installed. New water pump, new rear seal, new power steering pump, new drive belts, new thermostat, new relay. To wrap things up all four corners have brand new tires. Where can you find one this nice, other than paying $40,000 or $50,000 at "you know who" Grand Wagoneer? If you want the rarest and nicest Grand Wagoneer at a fair price this is it. It's not cheap but is very fairly priced for it's condition and rarity. If you have any questions about the Wagoneer, please email. The Car is being offered without any Warranty offered or implied and is being sold "As Is'. Thank you for your interest in this wonderful example of the Mark I |

2014 Jeep Cherokee facing production delay
Fri, 17 May 2013Jeep's bold-faced new direction spearheaded by the 2014 Cherokee is facing some teething issues. According to a report by the Detroit Free Press, production start-up of the controversial new utility vehicle at its Toledo North facility is running about a month behind schedule "due to a wide range of issues." That's according to Mark Chernoby, senior vice president of engineering at Chrysler.
Chernoby maintains that the issues being encountered aren't unusual for the launch of a new vehicle - particularly one with a new powertrain - and he downplayed the delay, telling Jeep dealers that they "will have ample inventory of the midsize SUV by fall." Among the kinks being worked out? Calibrating the Cherokee's cutting-edge ZF nine-speed automatic transmission and refining assembly line tasks to make the process more efficient.
Chrysler expects to start building retail-ready versions of the Cherokee around mid-June, with official sales slated to start in September.
Jeep Cherokee Trail Carver is a more rugged Trailhawk
Wed, 06 Nov 2013We briefly mentioned the Jeep Cherokee Trail Carver that was heading to SEMA last week when discussing the Mopar lineup set to be shown in Las Vegas. At the time, though, we weren't able to dive too deeply into details. But with SEMA in full swing, we were able to sneak over and grab some snaps of one of the first modified Cherokees we've seen. The Cherokee is, after all, kind of an unknown quantity in the modification department, being so new and featuring such a polarizing design. We were quite interested to see what Mopar could come up with.
Starting with the Trailhawk 4x4 and its 3.2-liter V6, the engine is fitted with a Mopar cold-air intake and a new exhaust, although it's not clear what sort of power boost has resulted. We'll admit, we were hoping Jeep and Mopar would get a bit more aggressive with the Cherokee's suspension (has anyone thrown a few-inch lift on the new Jeep yet?), but there's no mention of upgrades beyond the knobby, off-road tires. Those should do some good when the going gets rough, while rock rails are there to protect the Auburn Pearl paint on the body.
Speaking of that paint, it's complemented by an interesting graphics package in contrasting black and Crush Orange. The cabin sports Katzkin Amaretto leather seats, along with tech-friendly items like a wireless charging system for cellphones and wireless internet.
Fiesta-sized Jeep coming in 2014
Wed, 03 Jul 2013We've heard rumors before about a new, baby Jeep to slot below the new-for-2014 Cherokee (pictured) in the automaker's lineup. Now, Edmunds is reporting that the new crossover will arrive sometime in 2014, and will be about the same size as the Ford Fiesta. This currently unnamed vehicle will effectively replace both the Compass and Patriot in the Jeep lineup.
Speaking to Edmunds, Jeep CEO Mike Manley said that the new, small Jeep will be assembled in Italy and marketed globally beginning sometime next year. Manley did not provide many details on the new model, but did say that it will be 4.2-meters (165 inches) long. The Cherokee, by comparison, is 4.6-meters long (181 inches). Furthermore, Edmunds reports that while the new small Jeep will offer diesel power in other markets, there are no plans for an oil-burning version here in the US.
Many other automakers are exploring this smaller crossover segment here in the US. General Motors recently launched the Buick Encore, which is loosely based on the Chevrolet Sonic subcompact's platform. Ford has already launched its Fiesta-based EcoSport in other markets, and has reportedly been pondering the idea of offering it in the US, as well.
