1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer.  This is a Rust Free solid Arizona Jeep.  Everything works.

New 360 V8 engine at 122K miles.

4 wheel drive works great.  I have taken this on many adventures.  I would not hesitate to drive it across the country right now.

No rust.

All 4 side windows and the rear tailgate window work properly.  Professionally tinted windows.

The interior is very nice.  The seats are excellent.  Sony CD player and good speakers.  Rear wood has been installed on the sides in the rear cargo area.  I think it adds to the woody Jeep.

The original paint has some chips and dings.  The rear tailgate wood grain is fading.

Complete new air conditioning system in 2011.

No rust.

Rare and very cool Nardi steering wheel.  This is a $500 Nardi wheel.  I will include an original Grand Wagoneer steering wheel if you want it.

New radiator and radiator hoses in July 2013.  New tie rod ends and bushings in 2011.  New gas tank in 2011.  Rebuilt transfer case in 2012.

31 x 10.5/15 Michelin LTX M/S tires with great tread.  The tires have approximately 10K miles on them.  The Jeep has an add-a-leaf kit that gives it 1 - 1.5" of lift to give it the right stance.  It rides very nice.  This is how Jeep should have built them.

$500.00 deposit due within 48 hours of auction end by Paypal.  Full payment is due within 7 days of auction end.  Shipping is your responsibility.

This is a great Jeep.

Jeep Cherokee faces on-sale delay

Sat, 23 Mar 2013

A report in The Wall Street Journal looks at some of the obstacles to the 2014 Jeep Cherokee that go beyond its mootable yet "very contemporary" looks, almost all of them based on Fiat's financial position. Starting with that sheetmetal, in defense of it SRT president Ralph Gilles and Jeep design head Mark Allen said they wanted to "make sure the design still looks modern five years from now."
The WSJ piece doesn't cite longevity as a factor, instead saying that its features originated in a design for an Alfa Romeo, the transformation into a Jeep design meant allowing Chrysler get it to market more quickly and save "hundreds of millions of dollars" in engineering.
The need for Fiat to save money while it weathers the European situation has cut budgets for development, engineering and the pace of retooling the Toledo, Ohio plant to build the Cherokee. In a familiar case of snowballing at work, among the effects will be pushing back the Cherokee's volume sales date and delaying updates to some of Chrysler's other products.

Australian Jeep marketing stunt goes awry [w/video]

Tue, 15 Jul 2014

Jeep fans in Australia are none too happy with the off-road brand following a contest that saw ten new Cherokees sold for just $10,000 Australian (about $9,400), roughly a quarter of the vehicle's price Down Under.
The contest, called the "World's Most Remote Dealership," gave Aussies the chance to snag an ultra-affordable Cherokee Longitude (analogous to the US-spec Latitude trim), provided they could get to a secret dealership in the remote wilderness of western New South Wales, near the border with the state of South Australia.
In order to get the exact location of the dealership, though, potential customers needed to download an app, which would release a phone number 9:00 AM AEST on Thursday (7:00 PM EDT, Wednesday night). The first ten people who could call in and prove they could afford to finance $10,000 and get to the remote dealership, were given the location of the remote dealership.

2013 Jeep Wrangler Moab Edition

Wed, 11 Dec 2013

There will forever be a soft spot in my heart for the Jeep Wrangler. The last one I owned was red, and, as a 1990 model, had the square headlights derided by Jeep enthusiasts who grew up on the Civilian Jeeps that descended from their General Purpose military ancestors. As a teenager, I couldn't have cared less what shape its headlights happened to be - to me, a Jeep Wrangler represented freedom; a carefree do-it-all machine equally at home with the top stowed away in the summer or with the heater on full blast in the snowy clutches of Old Man Winter. In Dr. Seuss parlance, my square-headlighted Sneetch was just as worthy as any round-headlighted Sneetch.
All that said, I'll be the first person to advise against buying a Jeep Wrangler of any sort for owners who don't plan to use it as its makers intend. There's no good reason to punish yourself with a stiff and springy ride, a loud and somewhat drafty (though generally water-resistant) interior or the poor fuel economy expected of a block-shaped vehicle if you don't enjoy its other, more exciting benefits.
Of course, Jeep has done its darndest over the years to make the Wrangler as civilized as possible while keeping it as capable as federal law will allow. The 2013 Jeep Wrangler Moab edition is one of Jeep's latest attempts to attract attention from the upper reaches of the active lifestyle set, and I spent a week with one to see what makes the Moab special.
