This is a 1973 Jeep Jeepster Commando 4X4 with only 63555 original documented miles. Powered by a 258 cid 6 cylinder engine. Has an automatic transmission and power steering. Has new Goodyear AT tires with less than 500 miles on them. Has the original hubcaps. She's just been completely tuned and purrs like the proverbial kitten. Trans shifts perfectly and has she has adequate power. The engine does not smoke and there are no major leaks. 4WD works perfectly and has locking front hubs. The top is removable although I'm not sure it has ever been removed. Some rust in the lower rockers and behind the rear wheels on the inside, both are relatively easy fixes. This vehicle will make an easy restoration or just drive her as the survivor she is. Most of it's life has been spent indoors but a cover is included if she has to stay outside. She's virtually unmolested with the exception of a chrome valve cover. The original valve cover is included however for the purist. I do have the title in hand also for this Jeep classic. I have the original sales contract, the original owners manual and receipts to document the mileage is correct. The original vinyl seats are in great condition, not perfect but really, really nice. The rubber floor mat is also very nice except for a heel worn spot under the accelerator pedal. Spare tire and jack are also included. Rear tailgate and liftgate work perfectly. The liftgate locks and releases effortlessly. Radio even works, will need an antenna though. This has been a one family vehicle since purchased new, I was told and it certainly appears the paint is original, no body filler anywhere to be found. Undercarriage is solid also. Sun, 23 Jun 2013Earlier this month, a very significant Jeep was celebrated at the Toledo North Assembly plant. No, it wasn't the upcoming reincarnation of the Jeep Cherokee, but instead it was a 1943 Willys MB that visited the Toledo grounds where it had been built exactly 70 years ago to the day.
Of course, the actual building where the MBs rolled off the assembly line before heading to Europe for World War II no longer exists, but that didn't stop Italian owner Vittorio Argento from having the vehicle shipped to the US to make its trek back to its birth place. According to Chrysler, Argento's MB is still 95-percent original and it drove 1,000 miles from New Jersey to Toledo.

Four Wheeler crowns Ultimate Factory 4x4... who wins?
Thu, 15 Nov 2012Nearly every automaker doing business in the SUV or pickup truck segments offers a package designed to improve the off-road capabilities of its wares. But, of course, not all such factory kits are created equal. How, then, to separate the wheat from the chaff? Gather each of them up and put them through their paces, naturally.
The folks from Four Wheeler and PickupTrucks.com joined forces to run just such a comparison test, with the winner named the Ultimate Factory 4x4. A total of seven vehicles showed up to the fight: the 2012 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor, 2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, 2012 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X and Xterra PRO-4X, 2012 Ram Power Wagon, and 2012 Toyota 4Runner Trail and Tacoma TRD T|X Baja Series.
With the contestants in place, the whole crew put each vehicle through a battery of tests that included skidpad and acceleration measurements, a hillclimb, a rocky stairstep course and a rock garden. Considering the nature of the beasts, on-road ride and comfort were not part of the routine.
