Carrollton, Illinois, United States
1969 JEEPSTER COMMANDO 2 DOOR AND HAS A REMOVABLE HARDTOP. ENGINE IS BUICK DAUNTLESS V 6. THIS JEEP HAS A CLEAR TITLE AND IS A RUNNING VEHICLE THAT NEEDS SOME TLC. I BELIEVE THE ORIGINAL COLOR WAS RED, THE SEATS HAVE BEEN REPLACED WITH CLOTH BUCKETS, THE ORIGINAL SEATS WILL COME WITH THE VEHICLE. THE DRIVERS SEAT LOOKS NEAR PERFECT, THE PASS SEAT CAN USE SOME ATTENTION. THERE IS A CHROME ROOF RACK FOR THE AVID HUNTER OR CAMPER. THE REAR SPARE TIRE AND FUEL CAN HOLDER HAS BEEN REMOVED BUT WILL ALSO COME WITH THE VEHICLE. NEW FIRESTONE DESTINATION A/T TIRES WITH LESS THAT 20 MILES ON THEM. THERE ARE A FEW OF THESE LEFT AND ARE GETTING MORE SCARCE. A REALLY NICE PIECE OF JEEP HISTORY.

eBay Find of the Day: Jeep Comanche Zombie Response Unit
Sat, 02 Feb 2013We've seen some pretty fantastic apocalypse vehicles in our day. We've even owned one or two, but this particular Jeep Comanche tugs at our heart strings in all the right ways. Let's start with the basics: there's a stout 4.0-liter engine underhood hooked to a five-speed manual transmission, and while we wish this truck was four-wheel drive, the two-inch lift and oversize tires should help you overcome obstacles with enough momentum.
Details like handy shovels, Jerry cans and a brush guard inspired by the hardware on a CUCV help lend the truck a no-nonsense appeal, and the functional CB whip antenna means you can ask for backup when the undead hordes come your way. If you like what you see as much as we do, you can head over to eBay Motors to place a bid. The auction has inched up to $4,000 with just two days left on the clock.
Chrysler's Jefferson North plant builds 5-millionth SUV [w/video]
Thu, 15 Aug 2013Chrysler's Jefferson North Assembly Plant opened in 1992 for production of the first Jeep Grand Cherokee, but in the subsequent years, the Detroit plant has gone on to produce some of the company's biggest SUVs including the Jeep Commander and Dodge Durango. Earlier this week, the plant produced its five-millionth SUV, which, fittingly, was a Grand Cherokee.
Celebrating the plant's five-millionth unit, the silver 2014 Grand Cherokee was promptly donated to the USO. In addition to this milestone SUV, Chrysler also had a near-perfect 1993-95 ZJ Grand Cherokee on hand for the photo op. Scroll down for the Chrysler press release as well as a video showing some of the speeches from the celebration.
Chrysler recalls 350k vehicles over ignition switches
Thu, 25 Sep 2014Chrysler has announced a recall covering 349,442 vehicles due to ignition switches that can either become stuck or move without warning. All of the affected vehicles are from the 2008 model year, and were built before May 12, 2008.
The automaker has learned that ignition keys on some vehicles "may not fully return to the 'ON' position after rotation to the 'START' position during engine-startup," the company said in a statement. Additionally, "an ignition key may not fully return to the 'ON' position after rotation to the 'START' position and may inadvertently move through the 'ON' position to 'ACCESSORY' or 'OFF.'"
Chrysler says it is unaware of any related injuries, and notes that while reduced braking, engine or steering power is possible in such instances, the airbags are not affected. The later stands in contrast to General Motors' recent rash of high-profile recalls, and it's an important distinction that Chrysler (understandably) felt necessary to call out in bold print in its press release.
