I've had this 1978 jeep CJ7 for a few years and have enjoyed every minute of it! But, with new babies, it's time for a change. Title in hand and ready to go. It has the original 304 Automatic v8 Engine. Runs strong!! See Video below! Turns heads wherever I go....especially car shows. I haven't taken the jeep off roading, but as you can see it's very capable. Also has the very rare Quadra-Trac wheel locking system that only some cj-7s came with, and was a very desirable option to have! Lots of things have been upgraded on the jeep as you can see. Has ALWAYS been garaged! - V8 304 Engine - Rare Automatic Transmission - Rare Quadra-Trac system!!! - Fuel injection system put in!!! - Brand new battery! - Brand New Fuel pump! - Fresh paint - Custom color-match role cage! - Nice suspension lift (~6 inches), body lift (~2 inches). - 35" tires. (35x12.50) I'd say they have about 85% left. - Beadlock wheels. Micky Thompson! - Custom Swing Tire Mount - Brand new Bestop Soft-top - Brand new Soft doors and soft windows - Original 304 engine. Runs strong! straight pipe as I don't need to have emissions or inspections for an antique car in virginia, It sounds amazing! (See video!) Should be a quick fix. - Brand new seats (Bestop) - Brand new Bluetooth stereo system along with very loud speakers. - I bought this from California. so, very little rust. There's a small rust area near the jeep logo as seen in the picture. very small rust underneath the windshield. - Carpet looks nice and clean. Car is as-is of course. Airbag fault on 1M recalled Jeeps getting second look from NHTSA [UPDATE]
Mon, 02 Jun 2014UPDATE: Here is the statement we received from Chrysler regarding NHTSA's query: "Chrysler Group LLC advised the National Highway Traffic Administration of the six reports and, in accordance with the Company's long-standing practice, is cooperating fully with the resulting investigation. Customer safety is paramount at Chrysler Group. Customers who are concerned may call 1-800-853-1403."
It appears that Jeep's repairs for nearly one million Grand Cherokees from 2002-2004 and Liberty models from 2002-2003 might not be over yet. The vehicles were first recalled in November 2012 because the front airbags could suddenly deploy without being in an accident. Now, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is opening a recall query into them because of reports of inadvertent activation on some already corrected vehicles.
The original problem affected over 919,000 vehicles worldwide, including 744,822 in the US, and was caused by a degrading circuit in the wires that control the airbags. In some cases the airbag warning light would come on just before the premature activation, but in other cases it would just happen. The automaker installed an "in-line jumper harness with an integrated electrical filter" meant to eliminate the power spikes believed to be the cause.
Chrysler nets $1.6B income in Q4, Fiat profit up 5%
Wed, 29 Jan 2014Chrysler announced its 2013 financial results today and unveiled its new name and decidedly bank-like logo. Amid the announcement, Chrysler posted big gains in income, while Fiat didn't perform to analysts' expectations.
For 2013, Chrysler had revenue of $72.1 billion, up 10 percent from 2012. Net income reached $2.8 billion, a 65-percent increase. It was the company's third straight year of annual profits.
In terms of unit sales, Chrysler sold 2.4 million cars worldwide in 2013, up 9 percent. According to Automotive News, 1.8 million of those vehicles were sold in the US, a 14-percent increase. The sales growth boosted Chrysler's US market share to 11.4 percent, up 0.2 percent.
2014 Jeep Cherokee gets official in a hurry
Fri, 22 Feb 2013Automakers work very, very hard to keep their new vehicles under wraps until they can present them in exactly the way they want it - typically choreographed under the bright lights of an auto show, or perhaps with photos or video in an idyllic location. Spy shooters and leaks, in other words, keep executives and public-relations types up at night.
This is likely to be one of the most polarizing designs to come out in 2014.
Take today, for instance, when the team over at Jalopnik got a big scoop - the first undisguised shots of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, a model whose name wasn't even officially confirmed yet. The clandestine images taken inside of a factory were blurry and didn't exactly show off the crossover's radical new contours in the same sort of flattering light that Jeep probably would've wished for its product reveal. So the Auburn Hills automaker has wisely reacted by spilling at least some of the beans on the new model, giving us these four photos and confirming the Liberty replacement's name, Cherokee.
