Jaguar 1969 XKE  E-type.   A well running, good looking , babied, sexy roadster.   When you gas it/it jumps up and goes.
Triple Black.
We have owned this automobile since 2005.
Since that time, the rear suspension was rebuilt and new SS exhaust put on.  New brake calipers and Cool Cat radiator fans,
Speedometer rebuilt ( when rebuilt it was reset to 0 - currently reads 2,375 .....  when car was purchased it had 57,889 miles on it)  Total actual miles are 60,264.
New water pump.  New alternator.  New ignition.  Original radio works.
A/C test started and found leak in compressor.  A/C was converted to 134a prior to our ownership.
This car only uses non ethanol gas supplied by the Sunoco filling station at the corner.
The Body:  Is in excellent condition for it's age.  Prior to ownership there was bodywork done on the hood and on an area approx. 1" x 1" there is a crack in the surface of the finish.  Possible rust formation.  Hard to photograph due to reflective surface but if requested I can try.   Always garaged.  The convertible top is still in new condition that was put on in 2005 by prior owner.  Top is rarely up in So. Fla.  Seats may be original,  in almost excellent conditioned....fed hide food.
Reason for selling is Dad just retired wants the mortgage to be paid off.

Dick Van Dyke escapes his flaming Jaguar on the 101

Wed, 21 Aug 2013

Actor Dick Van Dyke was caught in a dangerous situation on a Los Angeles highway (who are we kidding, every situation on an LA highway is dangerous), when his Jaguar XJ spontaneously caught fire. The 87-year-old actor/comedian pulled to the side and attempted to call emergency services when another motorist pulled him from the car. There seems to be some confusion as to whether Van Dyke was passed out or merely calling emergency services.
According to the photos and video from NBC and The Today Show, the car was thoroughly cooked in the blaze and is now a total loss. After the incident, Van Dyke's wife, Arlene, posted that the actor was "fine," sharing a Vine video of the star, the car, and a few CHP troopers that were on hand. Later in the day, Van Dyke tweeted a photo of his toasted sedan, saying, "Used Jag for sale REAL CHEAP!!"
You can view the Today show segment on the incident as well as Arlene Van Dyke's Vine video, below.

Watch the trailer for Jaguar's short film staring the F-Type and Damian Lewis

Thu, 07 Mar 2013

Jaguar continues to think well outside of the box when it comes to marketing it's new F-Type, now furthering plans for a short film which highlights the sexy roadster. Desire, featuring Damian Lewis (star of the hit series Homeland), Jordi Mollà (unforgettable in Bad Boys II) and Shannyn Sossamon (that girl you had a crush on for like a month in 2002 after you rented A Knight's Tale), Jaguar is clearly pulling out all the stops for this one. Well, nearly all the stops anyway - the "Ridley Scott Associates" billing isn't quite the same has having the man himself, if we're splitting hairs.
The short video below is still just a trailer for Desire - the full film will make its debut sometime in April, we're told. The sketched out plotlines tell us that Lewis' character Clark, "...delivers cars for a living, running into trouble after a chance encounter with a mysterious, young woman (Sossamon) in the middle of a lawless desert." The car looks good, at any rate.
Call us crazy, but the Desire trailer feels an awful lot like a spoof on the cool-but-overly-serious short films that BMW has done in this vein, already. Maybe we're just being cynical? Tell us what you think in comments after watching the clip.

Jaguar F-Type 'Design Study' headed to Goodwood

Mon, 08 Jul 2013

With the Goodwood Festival of Speed taking place this weekend, Jaguar has announced it will be there with its new trio of R models as well as a design study version of the hot new F-Type sports car. While we've already seen the XFR-S last year at the LA Auto Show and the XJR and XKR-S GT at the New York Auto Show, the F-Type design study has our attention.
Based on our recent sighting of a fixed-roof F-Type being tested in full camouflage, this could mean that we'll finally get to see a sexy F-Type Coupe in near-production form. Of course, with all of the other R branded models on display, Jaguar could also unveil a sporty new R - or maybe even an RS - F-Type roadster. Whatever is planned, it will not be a static display - Jaguar says the design study car will be in action, making the fabled run up Goodwood Hill with chief engineer Mike Cross at the wheel. Scroll down for more information about what Jaguar has planned for Goodwood.
