Jaguar E Type S3 V12 2+2 Auto on 2040-cars

Year:1971 Mileage:46000
Location:

Newbury Park, California, United States

Newbury Park, California, United States

Listed for auction is a totally original unmolested Jaguar E-type V12, 2+2 Auto, LHD. Finished in Old English White with Light Tan Interior.
Both trim and paint are factory original.

Recently bought this E-type had not run for ten years. The car is now running and the following items have been replaced in order to present the car in running condition. Reconditioned Water Pump, all coolant hoses & Clips, Fan Switch, new complete Stainless Steele Exhaust System including Fantail, New Spark Plugs, Oil Filter, Oil change,  Air Filters and reconditioned Radiator. Following all these new items the car fired up immediately with no tapping noises or rattles and the oil pressure is excellent.

The car will require a good tune, the suspension all looks good but I would strongly recommend a full check over before going back on the road. The brakes appear to work but again I would recommend a flush through of the clean Brake fluid, new pads and check complete system. Everything appears to work, even the A/C pump clicks in and there was gas in the system until the radiator was removed.

The transmission changes through the gears although I have only driven the car a two or three hundred yards.

The body is exceptionally Straight with superb panel fit as would be expected with an original car such as this, however there is some slight damage on the front edge of the bonnet which is shown in the pictures. The paintwork is original but is faded and thin in places where it has worn though to primer or bare metal. I was intending to repaint the car but thought it would be nice for the new owner to take a view on this.

The interior is completely original including the carpet although the drivers side footwell mat is missing. The Seats are intact with no tears or holes, these with come up well with a good quality cleaner and hide food.

This car is exceptionally original car showing only 46,000 miles which from the wear on the steering Wheel and trim I would think is genuine. The car will require a full check over and inevitably some work as a result, however this is an ideal car to be enjoyed whilst it can be improved. It makes much more sense to buy a original genuine car in good solid condition rather than a poorly restored car with shinny paint.

The car is currently Located in Southern California. I do regularly export cars to the UK and Australia so shipping can be arranged at extra cost.

Please feel free to call should you have any questions or would like to arrange a viewing on 001 805 267 6795.

The winning bidder will be required to pay a ten percent deposit within two days and the balance within five days of the auction ending.

Good luck and happy bidding.

Harry

Jaguar F-Type Project 7 leaks in production trim ahead of Goodwood debut

Tue, 24 Jun 2014

Just yesterday we brought you word that Jaguar was planning to bring something special to the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year - the first product of its Special Operations division - and now we have it right here.
Previewed in concept form last year, Jaguar's big reveal appears to be the production version of the Project 7 show car - an extreme speedster version of the F-Type. Though we still don't have official details, these images leaked courtesy of 4WheelsNews show that the roadster seems to have lost little in the transition from concept to reality.
The bright blue paint job has been replaced by a more British shade of green, but the white trim - including the racing stripes running across (not up) the hood, the grille surround and the number circle on the door - appear to have carried over. As has the D-Type-inspired, fin-like, single raised cowling on the rear deck, though now positioned behind the left-hand driver's seat instead of the right. The wheels are fresh and the front lip spoiler looks even bigger, and the rear wing appears to have been reshaped.

Jaguar-based Eagle E-Type Low Drag GT makes its bid for most beautiful car ever with EVO

Fri, 28 Feb 2014

The Jaguar E-Type is one of the icons of automotive design, and British company Eagle has made a business out of restoring, upgrading and building their bespoke versions for the last 30 years. It does for the E-Type what Singer does for the Porsche 911 - takes an already great classic car and updates its mechanicals for the modern age.
The firm's latest creation, the Low Drag GT, might be its greatest ever, at least according to editor Henry Catchpole in Evo magazine's latest video. The car takes its inspiration from a trio of low-drag E-Type coupes built in the 1960s, but thoroughly modernizes the concept. The engine is based on Jag's inline-six, but made from aluminum and bored out to 4.7 liters to produce 346 horsepower and 360 pound-feet of torque. Catchpole says it's enough to propel it to 60 miles per hour in about 4.5 seconds. The body, transmission and differential are all also made from aluminum to cut the weight to 2,288 pounds, and modern upgrades include Ohlins dampers, AP Racing brakes and even extras like concealed GPS navigation and an Alcantara headliner. There's more head- and legroom than the originals, too.
Each car is built bespoke for each buyer, so prices vary, but Catchpole says the one he is in would run about half the cost of a LaFerrari - around $700,000.

Jay Leno's Garage features funnyman's 1963 Jaguar E-Type

Thu, 25 Apr 2013

Jay Leno looks inward on this episode of his eponymous garage, checking out a 1963 Jaguar XKE that he bought earlier this year. It is an example of his favorite kind of car, that being original and unrestored. He bought the E-Type from its first owner, a woman who purchased it new, held on to it for 50 years and took excellent care of it. Having never been in an accident, Leno says even the paint is 85- to 90-percent original.
In the video, the XKE sits in front of two heavily modded XK120s and another '63 XKE, but Leno said all he's done - and all he plans to do - is clean it up and put on a modern set of wire wheels for safety.
He's not on any junket and there are no guests, it's just a guy talking about an object dear to his heart. If you need a refresher on the excellent genes of the new F-Type, check out the video below.
