Sweet V12 5.3L Classic Jaguar, 1972 E-Type series 3 coupe, representing an opportunity to acquire an investment while enjoying great fun and the thrill of owning and driving one of the greatest classic cars.

Unique Red on Red combination with matching numbers.

Desirable 4 speed with original factory wire spoke wheels and White wall tires (matching new spare).
Nice straight car in great condition with Red-Burgundy exterior with no notable blemishes to mention and matching Red interior with minimal wear. The original chrome bumpers have minor pitting. I believe this car was repainted by previous owner (keeping ordinal color and looking at it, by professionals as it still looks great after more than 19 years).
66k original miles with recent total engine /engine bay/suspension/steering, rear-end assembly and 4 speed gearbox rebuilds (New clutch) using original equipment by professional engineer and Jaguar enthusiast and all in last 1k miles. Underside recently detailed and all brake lines replaced with stainless.

I originally purchased this vehicle while living in North Carolina and have always kept it in my dry garage /heated-cooled basement, so no rust and nothing to hide. Photos’ show floor pans, trunk floor and hood hinge points in great clean condition.

All original equipment, apart from an aftermarket Crane Electric ignition system, original is still on vehicle for clarity.

All gauges, heater, original factory radio and Air Conditioning work apart from Clock, which can be sporadic in keeping time!

Currently I am the second owner having had the car for over 19 years, where this vehicles condition is beautiful and a rust free example and a joyful driving experience and truly pampered. It still has its original interior in good condition, which if desirable, can easily be replaced to make a pristine example and boost your investment.

Jaguar F-Type pitted against Porsche 911 Cabriolet by Tiff Needell

Wed, 24 Apr 2013

You knew it wouldn't take long and it looks like EVO is first onto YouTube with a battle between the 2014 Jaguar F-Type and the 2013 Porsche 911. Tiff Needell spends a few laps warming up the tires (read: drifting like mad) in each droptop before getting in a timed run to see who's champion and who's second best.
Before the bell rings, its the Porsche that's got everything to lose, the 50-year-old era-defining sportscar getting on with a 3.4-liter flat-six, 350 horsepower, a seven-speed manual and a 3,197-pound curb weight. Other sportscars, like the F-Type, continue to eye the 911 like a flag atop Everest that they plan to first touch, and then rip from its socket. The mid-trim Jaguar rolls into the contest with a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 with 380 hp, an eight-speed automatic with paddle shifters and a curb weight of 3,521 pounds.
The video below shows you what happens when you let all those numbers fight it out on the same stretch of curvy track. Check it out.

Jaguar Project 7 Concept

Mon, 26 Aug 2013

The Jaguar Project 7 Concept debuted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed just last month. But unlike most concepts, which serve only to collect fingerprints on a stage, the track-ready one-seater spent its days barreling past the hillclimb crowds with Mike Cross, chief engineer of vehicle integrity at Jaguar, beaming behind its right-hand-drive steering wheel. What's more, the powers that be at Jaguar even let yours truly drive the Project 7 during the Concurs d'Elegance festivities at Pebble Beach last week.
Built on an all-aluminum V8 F-Type chassis with modified suspension, the Project 7 (a name acknowledging Jaguar's seven Le Mans wins between 1951-1990) is best thought of as an F-Type masquerading as a D-Type. The two-door is fitted with a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 good for 550 horsepower (no pictures as Jaguar wouldn't allow us to open the hood). An eight-speed automatic, with a torque converter, sends the power the rear wheels, allowing the single-seat roadster to crack the 60-mph benchmark in just over four seconds.
Modifications to the bodywork include a new lowered windshield, carbon-fiber aerodynamics and a rear fairing with integrated rollover hoop. The driving position has also been lowered by more than an inch, allowing the sole occupant to not only escape the airflow, but take advantage of a lower center of gravity.

Jaguar opens new engine plant in the UK

Thu, 30 Oct 2014

The heads of Jaguar Land Rover are having a busy couple of weeks opening factories. Just days after inaugurating the company's first overseas plant in China, the automaker's new Engine Manufacturing Center in the UK is being inaugurated, as well. The plant near Wolverhampton, England, marks the first time in decades that JLR is building its own powerplants in-house. Further signaling the importance of this launch for the business, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip were on hand and even tweeted about it.
The factory's first major project is to build JLR's latest Ingenium four-cylinders, starting with the 2.0-liter diesel version. "Our new Engine Manufacturing Centre is an important step in advancing the competitiveness and capability of the UK automotive sector. The production of in-house engines will support the expansion of the UK supply chain providing critical mass for inward investment," said Trevor Leeks, plant operations director in the automaker's announcement.
Opening the doors to the Engine Manufacturing Center has been years in the making for JLR. The plant was first announced in September 2011 and broke ground in June 2012. Building it cost the company 500 million pounds ($800 million) and created 1,400 new jobs. Of course, being a state-of-the-art factory, considerations were made to make the place as energy efficient as possible. That meant installing the UK's largest solar array with 21,000 panels to produce about 30 percent of the site's electricity needs.
