Up for auction is a 1965 Ford Thunderbird with a Numbers Matching 390 and a C6 transmission. This car is a project that has been sitting for many years. She does run, but she will not go into gear. The car will start right up, no smoking, no knocking, and will idle. I'm sure she could use a tune up as she runs rough with old wires, plugs and everything else. This car has NO RUST!! The car still has the original radiator marked C5, along with the water pump too, as she has the C5 start to the Ford part number. The car still has the factory mufflers and they are in great shape still. You will find original Ford parts numbers all over this car. The car is very original but, she has sat for many years. The car needs to be towed to it's destination. The exterior is very straight with no rust, trunk is rust free also. The interior is very clean overall but, needs attention. I tried the windows and the driver front window went up, then down and stopped halfway, my guess she needs some grease. The right rear quarter window worked also, but the other two would not move. The car needs a full restoration of she can be a awesome parts car!! There is no reserve on the auction, as the high bidder will win the car. I have a clear title in hand for the car. Good Luck!!

The truck is a nice PROJECT type car! The winning bidder is required to pay a $500 non refundable deposit due within 24 hours of winning the car! The car is being sold " As Is" due to it's age. The deposit must be paid through Paypal. The remaining balance is due within 3 days of the auction closing, and the final payment may be made with Paypal, Cashiers check, wire transfer or cash in person. The car must be picked up within 2 weeks of the auction closing, and my zip code is 89131 for shipping purposes. Please email me with any questions, and good luck!!

William Clay Ford Sr. dead at 88

Sun, 09 Mar 2014

William Clay Ford, retired vice chairman of Ford Motor Company and the last surviving grandchild of company founder Henry Ford, died this morning after a bout with pneumonia. He was 88.
Ford spent 57 years with his grandfather's company, joining the board of directors in 1948 before graduating from college. Ford also held a position as chairman of the design committee, as well as the chairman of the executive committee and vice chairman of the Board of Directors during his tenure with the company. In a 2013 Detroit Free Press story, retired CFO Allan Gilmour said Ford had an eye for design, and was once able to pick out when a fiberglass model of a Ford Contour was asymmetrical, off by an inch on one side. He retired and assumed the position of director emeritus in 2005.
"My father was a great business leader and humanitarian who dedicated his life to the company and the community," said Bill Ford, Jr., Ford's current executive chairman. "He also was a wonderful family man, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him, yet he will continue to inspire us all."

Ford sells 7-millionth Explorer in America

Mon, 17 Nov 2014

Say what you will about the evolution of the Ford Explorer, from roofed Ranger to body-on-frame sport utility vehicle to unibody crossover - the bottom line is that it's been a tremendously successful model for Ford. In fact, the Blue Oval automaker has sold seven million Explorer models in the United States alone.
The milestone, marked nearly a quarter-century after the introduction of the original in 1990, comes on the eve of the introduction of a new Explorer at the Los Angeles Auto Show this week. We don't yet know how the new Explorer will shape up, but we're mere days away from finding out.
Now heading into its sixth generation, the Explorer has formed the basis of Ford's utility lineup for over two decades. The Explorer landed on the market right around the time that the Bronco was trailing off, predating the company's expansion into larger SUVs like the Expedition and Excursion and crossovers like the Escape, Edge and Flex.
