2001 Ford Ranger Xlt Extended Cab Pickup 2-door 3.0l on 2040-cars
Sullivan, Illinois, United States
For sale is a 2001 ford ranger xlt super 195XXX miles. I am the second owner my father was the first. He sold it to me with 130XXX miles. This is a good running truck I hate to see it go. I am selling because my wife doesn't drive stick and we have a baby on the way. There have not been any major problems with this truck. About 4 years ago the slave cylinder was replaced and a year later the clutch was replaced. About a month ago I had to bleed the slave to get out a air bubble out. Works good now might need replaced in the future. There are a lot of minor things as expected with a truck 13 years old with 195xxx miles on it.
Here they are: The belt squeaks when it is wet out, there is a nickel size rock chip on windshield (has not got bigger in the last 7 years) , The driver seat had a 4" rip that was stitched up and wear on arm rest (could use seat covers), minor scratches and dents here and there, Rear driver tire has some steel belts showing(rotated from the front broken sway bar fixed I think it caused the wear), Needs windshield wipers, The ABS light is on ( I was told it was a burnt out bulb on the passanger turn off switch, check engine light is on (it has been on for the last 10 years) The carpet is dirty and the truck needs a good wax job. The AC worked great last year but it needs recharged. If there are any questions feel free to ask. I would drive this truck anywhere with no worries. Thanks for looking |

Ford recalling nearly 24,000 Focus EV and C-Max models over door chime
Fri, 04 Oct 2013Ford will be voluntarily recalling 23,830 Focus Electric and C-Max Hybrid and Energi models equipped with push-button ignition, according to The Detroit News. Why? Because the cars don't make a noise when the driver's door is open, and are therefore in violation of federal regulations. It's not as silly as Honda's badging recall that isn't a recall, but it's close.
Actually, that's not exactly fair. The chime is supposed to come on when the driver's door is open, as it reminds drivers not to leave their cars on or leave key fobs in the car, an easy thing to forget when the cars in question make virtually no noise at idle and do not require keys in ignitions.
The recall, which Ford is conducting voluntarily, covers 2012 and 2013 Focus Electric hatchbacks and 2013 C-Max Hybrid and Energi models. The overwhelming majority, around 22,900 units, were sold in the US, while the remaining 900 units are in Canada. How many of each model are covered in the recall is not immediately clear.
2015 Ford F-150 named Truck of Texas, Lincoln and Jeep also awarded at Truck Rodeo
Tue, 14 Oct 2014The Ford Motor Company has a lot of reasons to celebrate after winning eight categories in this year's Texas Auto Writers Association's annual Truck Rodeo. Most important among them, the Blue Oval's latest 2015 Ford F-150 earned the prestigious Truck of Texas award, ending the Ram 1500's two-year winning streak. The 2015 Lincoln MKC also grabbed the honor as the CUV of Texas, and Ford was named Truck Line of Texas.
FoMoCo even took trophies for best technology with its extensive use of aluminum on its latest F-Series and best commercial vehicle for the new Transit 250. It wasn't a total sweep, though, because the Jeep Grand Cherokee grabbed the title of the SUV of Texas for the fifth straight time.
This year's event put 60 auto writers in 75 pickups, SUVs and crossovers and challenged them to find the best in a plethora of categories. All of the winners are listed below, and scroll down to read the full announcements from the Texas Auto Writers Association and Ford.
2016 Ford Focus RS may yet be AWD, US sales likely
Fri, 29 Aug 2014When it comes to forbidden fruit, few vehicles are spoken of in as hushed a tone as the Ford Focus RS. The turbocharged, five-cylinder hot hatch could only be seen from afar by American customers as it tore up the roads of Europe. And while it's safe to say that Ford's Yankee fans are quite happy to now be on equal footing with drivers in the old country thanks to the Focus ST, we doubt there'd be much protestation over a successor to the RS arriving stateside.
Of course, we've seen images of the new RS undergoing testing, but a new story by Road and Track aims to fill in some very large blanks in our knowledge of that car, thanks to a pair of mysterious insiders at the Ford. Chief among those is this - the RS will almost certainly make its way to the US, albeit in limited quantities. It gets better, though.
Under hood, the new RS is unsurprisingly expected to borrow the 2.3-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder from the 2015 Ford Mustang and 2015 Lincoln MKC. While that twin-scroll turbo produces 310 horsepower in the Mustang and 285 ponies in the MKC, R&T expects the RS to deliver quite a bit more firepower - 325 to 350 hp, with preference going to the higher output due to the limited-edition nature of the RS. This roughly fits with previous reports.
