Please read all of description! I have a very detailed description so all bidders including out of state buyers have a fair shot at buying with confidence. Must sell this week. NO RESERVE   I am selling my 1996 Ford Ranger XLT Extended Cab 2 door pickup truck. It has been in our family for at least 5 years. I bought it from my father in law. I used it as a 2nd vehicle until my daughter needed a vehicle. She drove it her last 2 years in college. She got a new car upon graduating college, so I got my truck back again. It has been great to have around. From hauling trash, picking up lumber or what ever, it served its purpose. I bought a full sized 4x4 4door truck so we have decided to sell it. I will describe it as well as I can.

It still has a lot of life left. I hate to sell it because it's always handy to have a truck around that your not worried about getting a door ding or a scratch on. I just can't justify having 2 trucks. Keep in mind this truck is 18 years old. It's not without any issues. If you are looking for a show truck or one with no issues keep looking, but if you want a truck that will get you from point a to point b and still have a decent look to it without breaking the budget this may work for you. Perfect for a construction worker, a young person that wants a truck with good bones that they can make their own or a reliable truck just to have around.

The Good: V6 automatic, xtra cab, power equipment-still works! Alloy wheels, decent tires, A/C is cold, stereo works well. Body in good shape, no rust or damage. Bucket seats no rips or tears. New battery, New windshield (replaced because of rock chip that spread)

The not so good:  check engine light and abs light come on periodically. (Has done it since day 1) Doesn't affect the drivability so I never addressed it. Headliner material has splits in several places. The black and white plastic controls on the steering wheel have come off over time. The cruise control still works though. The top surface,(paint) mainly the hood is getting that crow feet look. If you're 5 feet away it looks great. There are scratches here and there, the largest one on the drivers side. Nothing you wouldn't expect a truck over 15 years old to have. The speedometer works fine. The odometer does not. I am selling it to have true miles unknown. I do not know when it stopped working all together. We would change the oil and filter every 4 months. We didn't put very many miles on it so we serviced it based on time.

I am putting the truck up for auction at No Reserve. Bid to win!  I am marketing the vehicle locally for $3500. If you want to buy it now for that price I reserve the right to end the auction early. I need to sell it in the next week so act quickly. Good luck and thanks for bidding.

Ford Transit customs ready to work for SEMA

Fri, 31 Oct 2014

Ford's booth at the SEMA Show this year looks to have two, big themes. The Blue Oval is bringing over a dozen takes on the 2015 Mustang to the event, and it's now also announcing five customized versions on the 2015 Transit to join the modded pony cars. Each of the vans shows off a different use for the spacious commercial vehicle, from plush luxury to offroad ruggedness.
You probably don't think of the Transit as hitting the trails, but that's just what the take on the design from the Vegas Off-Road Experience (pictured above) is for. The company gives people the opportunity to drive a desert race truck, and this custom is meant to drive them to events. It should be able to take on the terrain a little better with off-road wheels and tires and fender flares, but inside passengers get serious luxury thanks to a 60-inch LED TV and video game systems.
Alternatively the blazing red Designed Travel Transit (right) is all about long road trips. The interior features four captain's chairs with heating, cooling and massage functions, and there's a 4K 50-inch TV to watch. For a touch of added class, the floor is made from hickory.

Ford says utility vehicles are key to global growth

Tue, 26 Nov 2013

While most of us believe that small, fuel efficient cars are the key to global expansion for US automakers, Jim Farley, Ford's vice president of Global Marketing, thinks otherwise. Last week, we attended an exclusive sneak preview of the Ford Edge Concept in advance of the Los Angeles Auto Show, and Farley told us that it's actually utility vehicles that will help the Blue Oval gain market share overseas. "There is no other segment in our industry that is growing like utilities," he said. "We expect over the next five years this full family of [utility] vehicles to really drive our growth as a company."
And Farley has the numbers to back it up, too. Ford projects overall automotive sales to grow 23 percent from 2012 to 2017, but the company's utility vehicles are expected to boom by an impressive 41 percent during that same period. Much of that growth will be in China, where Ford estimates its utility sales will explode. "The biggest opportunity for us globally for utilities is in China," Farley said. "China utility growth is expected to more than double from where it is today to 2017, which isn't that far away." Most astounding is that Ford projects its own utility sales in China will eventually increase by more than 2,000 percent when smaller crossovers, such as the EcoSport and Kuga (sold as the Escape in North America), and the Edge and Explorer, are factored in.
Ford's VP also expects utilities to lead the way in the struggling European market. "With all the difficulties of the European market, there is one segment that has actually expanded in volume over the last several years even though the market is way down, and that's utilities," Farley told us. Ford estimates that their utility sales will grow 65 percent in Europe from 2012-2017. "The utility segment is projected to grow we think about thirty percent between now and 2017 in Europe, and we think we are going to grow twice that rate as a brand," Farley continued.

Road & Track names its 2013 Performance Car of the Year

Thu, 14 Nov 2013

Road & Track recently staged its first annual Performance Car of the Year test, pitting 13 new and updated performance cars against each other on track, then graduating the top six to a road test before picking a winner. Additionally, the magazine staff picked the best automobiles of the year in eight categories.
But first, let's cover the PCotY segment. Here's the list of cars brought to the comparison test: Audi R8 V10 Plus; BMW 435i; BMW M6 Competition Package; Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51; Ferrari F12 Berlinetta; Ford Fiesta ST; Jaguar F-Type V8 S; Jaguar XFR-S; Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S-Model Wagon; Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series; Mini John Cooper Works GP; Nissan GT-R Track Edition; and Porsche Cayman S.
To find out the results of the comparison, head over to Road & Track's website or check the press release below, where you'll also find the magazine's top-rated vehicles in eight categories. Want more? Head over to the 2013 PCotY hub. But before you do that, take a stab at guessing the winner of PCotY (we'll give you one hint: it isn't a Porsche).
