1950 Ford F Series. Excellent Condition. 1990's Frame Off Restoration. on 2040-cars

This beautiful 1950 Ford truck was built in Canada and is virtually the same as the F1 build in the US.  The only differences I have noticed between the F1 and F47 are the heavy duty oil filter, the built in engine block heater, and the heater box in the cab. The original flathead v8 looks and runs like new. This vehicle went through a frame off restoration in the early 1990's. Since then I believe there have only been 640 miles put on the truck. I have had it 2 years and have put on less than 100 miles. This vehicle even has the original oil filled air filter. the bed conditions and underside are in excellent condition.

The vehicle includes 5 new correct Coker tubed tires.

The car starts right up and runs great. Just performed a full tune up and replaced all fluids. 12 Volt conversion. Everything works, wipers, headlights, brake lights. I have replaced the 2 water pumps and the radiator. I still have the originals and will include.

I did add the rear bumper from LMC so I could pass inspection in NY.

The only known issue is that the heater core in the heater box leaks. I pulled it out and sent it for repair, but it just came back leaking.

Negatives of the original restoration project are available.

Watch live as Mark Fields is officially named Ford's next CEO

Thu, 01 May 2014

We've heard rumblings of a changing of the guard at Ford, and this live stream from The Blue Oval itself is set to confirm the rumors: Alan Mulally will be succeeded by the automaker's current Chief Operating Officer, Mark Fields.
Mulally, who is 68 years old, has served at the head of Ford for eight years, and his official retirement date will be July 1st, 2014. Fields, who is 53 this year, has been with Ford for 25 years and has been groomed to take the helm from Mulally for the last several of those years.
There's an official press release that you can read, but if you're more of a visual person, you're welcome to watch the live video feed of the announcement down below.

Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang is a track-day weapon with 500 hp

Mon, 17 Nov 2014

Ford promises more than 500 horsepower and a torque peak above 400 lb-ft.
The wait is finally over. After months of spy shots, rumor and innuendo, Ford has officially pulled the wraps off its new Shelby GT350. Judging by the spec sheet and the promises being made - especially that the Shelby GT350 will be "an all-day track car that's also street legal" - the wait appears to have been worth it.

The history and future of the Ford Bronco

Tue, 17 Jun 2014

Some have suggested that the Bronco's demise was hastened by the fallout from the O.J. trial.
Twenty years ago today, ex-NFL linebacker Al "A.C." Cowlings drove his friend and onetime running back Orenthal James "O.J." Simpson on a parade lap of the Los Angeles highway system and onto an ignoble page of the history books. If you're in your late 20s or older, or a fastidious young student of 1990s American history, you're absolutely aware that Al and O.J.'s steed for the 'chase' was a white Ford Bronco. The white Ford Bronco, even.
