For Sale: 1990 Ford Mustang GT 5.0L black with black interior. Car is in excellent shape and pretty much totally stock, only modifications are a K&N air filter, Hurst shifter, and a BBK h-pipe with flowmasters. Car runs and drives perfect. The entire a/c system has been replaced with new parts including: compressor, evaporator, drier, condenser, and all hoses. Also replaced heater core while replacing evaporator. The engine had a basic rebuild recently by the owner who is a master Ford technician, also has a NEW, not rebuilt, T5 transmission. The guy I bought it from was very meticulous and kept the car in great shape. never dogged or raced it. Was his daily driver. I bought the car and shortly after lost my job, so I have to sell it. Getting harder and harder to find these in this good of shape. Only issues I know of are as follows: has a few hail dings, mainly roof and hood only. And hatch has small rust hole at right bottom corner of spoiler mount (typical on these cars and that is the only rust spot on the car). Paint is original and looks really good for its age, my plan was to just replace the hood and hatch and fix the few dings in roof, but of course the hood and hatch can also be repaired. either way. The interior is in tip top shape, only issue in the interior is a small tear on outside corner of drivers seat (typical of all cars). New seat cover and cushion from Latemodel Restoration Supply and the interior will be immaculate. Even the map light works and ashtray door isn't broke, a rarity for sure!! So if you're in the market for a good clean unmolested fox body, and also does NOT have any collision damage, look no further, this is a great driving car. Thanks for looking.

Watch the Hennessey Ford GT makes its record run at Texas Mile

Wed, 27 Mar 2013

We said they'd probably be out with an official video, we did not lie. The Hennessey-powered camouflage Ford GT sat at one end of the runway at the Texas Mile sitting still. At the other end of the runway it had broken its own speed record, the twin-turbo 5.7-liter V8 pushing the aerodynamic supercar up to 267.6 miles per hour, a 4.3-mph improvement over the old mark.
There's not much in the video you haven't already seen, this just makes it official. That said, who doesn't want to see a twin-turbo Ford GT set an incredible speed record? You can watch it below.

Feds looking into Ford Explorer exhaust leak complaints

Fri, 20 Jun 2014

There may be a burgeoning problem with exhaust leaks in the 2011-2014 model year Ford Explorer. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is examining multiple complaints of a gasoline smell in the cabin of these SUVs. However, the exact cause of this problem is still unknown.
"The agency is reviewing all available data and will take appropriate action as warranted," said a NHTSA spokesperson in an email to Automotive News. Owners seem to generally complain on the regulator's website of the smell entering the cabin through the air vents. At this time, the government organization has not yet opened an official investigation into the problem, though. When it does begin inspecting vehicles, NHTSA posts a detailed breakdown of its public data online.
Similar problems have been reported about the Explorer in the past, though. In 2013, Ford issued a recall for the 2013 model year of the SUV due to a fuel leak that could cause drivers to smell a gasoline odor and repaired them again later for another possible leak. In response to Autoblog's questions, Ford responded via email: "We are not aware of a NHTSA investigation. We are currently reviewing the case and in the event that any action is required, we will address it promptly."

Rowan Atkinson crashes at Goodwood Revival

Sun, 14 Sep 2014

To quote Harry Hogge (played by Robert Duvall) in Days of Thunder, "rubbin, son, is racin'." That can mean some unfortunate damage to high-end racing machinery, which may be repaired easily enough in stock car racing, but when it comes to vintage racing, the stakes can be that much higher. And yet incidents do occur, like at this weekend's Goodwood Revival.
Among the many competitors taking part in the retro racing event in England was none other than Rowan Atkinson, the actor perhaps best known for playing Mr. Bean. Driving a classic Ford Falcon Sprint in the Shelby Cup event, Atkinson (pictured above at the 2012 revival) reportedly crashed head-on into another car on track.
According to reports, the two cars up spun out. The driver in between managed to avoid a pile-up, but Atkinson couldn't steer clear and hit the obstructing vehicle. Fortunately Rowan walked away unscathed (and, we imagine, in a humorous manner), but while we don't know how extensive the damage was to the Falcon, it was enough to take it out of the race.
