Putting my super clean, white, no option 5 speed, 87 LX 5.0 Hatchback up for sale...

I bought the car from the original owner who purchased it from Croft Ford, Athens, PA, in 1987.

 !!!*** NO RUST WHATSOEVER ***!!!

Odometer reads 31k, but I believe it has rolled over (meaning 131k), and obviously no proof either way... but I can assure you that this car runs, drives and looks like a 70k car. Its not all worn out and beat to like most of the fox body mustangs out there. The original owner drove it to Florida and back numerous times throughout its life, so I was told that almost all of the miles are highway.

The carfax shows one very minor accident back in 1991 - No body damage to my knowledge, paintwork to the rear bumper only. All factory VIN tags are on all panels where they should be, and I have a clean and clear PA title in my hand!

 -No winters, no bad weather
-Near perfect red and black interior 9/10
-paint is about 7/10 (not bad for being 26 yrs. old)
-Lowered very little (1.5 front/1 rear - just enough to clean up wheel well gap) on Ford Motorsport springs (have stock springs)
-91-93 Mustang pony wheels with new tires (wheels could use refinishing)
 -Flowmaster weld in mufflers
-I have an off-road H pipe that will come with the car when it sells also
-pioneer cd player (have factory tape deck)
-kicker, and eclipse speakers throughout (factory locations only)
- cervinis front molding fill piece (to cover up factory license plate holes)
- Shorty antenna
- the car was "super sealed" back in 1987 the day before it left the dealership - I have the certificate and the receipt from 3/23/1987 to show that this was done...the insides of all panels, parts of engine bay, and the under carriage were all sealed before the bare metal that Ford leaves from the factory could ever see any elements whatsoever. Just throwing that out there with the proof (paperwork) that the car was not undercoated in the past to hide any imperfections.

Everything else is the way it came from Ford. I also have a lot of maintenance records from the original owner that come with the car as well.

The car runs excellent, and really needs nothing major...has new front and rear brakes, rotors, drums, new water pump.

The only small issues with the car are:
-small chip in windshield (can be repaired for $75 - Safelite Auto Glass
-small dent in driver front fender (paintless dent repair can fix easily)
 -temp gauge doesn't work
-some stone chips, minor scratches/dings here and there (like I said, paint is 26yrs old!)

I've had 7 fox bodies, and this is by far the cleanest I've seen around here. You will not be disappointed if you come look at it. The original headlights aren't even yellowed!...must see to appreciate! I do have more pictures and can take a photo of any area of interest on the car if needed. Just ask!

Shelby to auction 2012 GT350 No. 1 in Vegas

Thu, 19 Sep 2013

With Shelby preparing to wind down production of its brutal GT350, a 624-horsepower Mustang that's meant to go up against the Roush Stage 3 in the world of tuned Ford ponycars, the Las Vegas-based tuner is looking to give back to one lucky customer. It'll auction off the very first GT350 ever produced, at the 2013 Barrett-Jackson auction in Las Vegas, a three-day event that runs from September 26 through September 28.
The GT350 is a monster, with a 5.0-liter, supercharged V8 that's been tuned well past 600 horsepower in a time when Ford's own Shelby-branded GT500 barely reached 550 horsepower. The GT350 is much louder than Ford's effort, too, both visually and audibly. The wide body look isn't what we'd call conventional, but on a car that sounds and goes like this, something extreme is needed. According to Shelby American's vice president of production, Gary Davis, "Carroll was very excited about the new wide body option, so that was included on this car. It's the first 2012 GT350 serial number from our anniversary year. It is a very special car." Wilwood brakes, a massaged suspension, and some very fat, sticky tires add to the Shelby experience.
This particular GT350 will be lot number 750, and will cross the Barrett-Jackson stage on Sunday, September 28.

Hennessey completes first VelociRaptor SUV conversion [w/video]

Mon, 20 May 2013

Start with a Ford F-150 SVT Raptor as your base vehicle for modification, and chances are high that you'll end up with something pretty cool. Now, have those modifications done by professional lunatics Hennessey Performance, make the project turning the pickup into an ultra-long SUV, and the result stands a real chance of being a total kick in the ass. Let us present the Hennessey VelociRaptor then, in all of its awesomeness.
Hennessey has taken care in grafting a "Expedition style" rear cabin onto the Raptor, complete with an optional third row. The pictures we have show a cabin that's up to the fit and finish standards of the original Ford truck, too. The cab added over the bed also makes room for a massive load space out back, accessible via split out-folding doors and long enough for a person to lay down in (see video).
Mechanically, the truck-turned-SUV sticks with Ford's stock 6.2-liter V8, rated at 411 horsepower, or can be had with a supercharger and some 600 hp. Hennessey says the stock-motor VelociRaptor will run from 0-60 miles per hour in 7.5 seconds, while the hi-po version takes just 5.9 seconds. The SUV does take some of the off-road ability away from the Raptor, with the company saying it hasn't yet had the opportunity to test its capabilities. On-roading and "moderate off-road duties" are the current prescription.

Leno talks racing with NASCAR racer Joey Logano

Wed, 02 Jul 2014

Jay Leno has to be under significant pressure knowing the appetite his fans have for a new Jay Leno's Garage video every week. This time, Jay takes a break from his usual format (something he's been doing with some frequency as of late) and goes back to his roots as a talk show host. There's no classic in the garage his episode with an interesting story to tell and a sumptuous exhaust note. Instead, the focus is purely on interviewing 23-year-old NASCAR racer Joey Logano about what it's like to be a racecar driver in his Ford Fusion.
Logano started racing at the tender age of six and has risen up the circle-track ranks to the big show of the NASCAR Sprint Cup. The two of them talk about what it's like to compete in the sport today compared to yesteryear, and Logano shares some racing anecdotes. Of course, they also get into what it's like to be on the racetrack controlling a car with about 850 horsepower, a four-speed manual transmission and brakes without any power boost. Scroll down to watch the video.
