This auction is for 1984 Ford Mustang SVO. This car is equipped with the 2.3 Turbocharged 4 Cylinder, 5 Speed Manual Trans, factory 4 wheel disc brakes, factory 16 inch wheels, Leather, Sunroof and more. This is a very original SVO which had the same owner since 1992. The car does run and drive but has been sitting since the year 2000 so it will need some work to be considered a daily driver. I bought the car with the intention of restoring it but haven't had the time to devote to it. Here's some more detailed information. The car did not pass the strict California emissions test therefore the car cannot be sold to a resident of the state of California, NO EXCEPTIONS!. BIDDING IS OPEN ONLY TO NON-CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS.
Mechanical: As stated the car does run and drive. I have driven the car on a handfull of occassions and here is what I've observed. The engine starts easily and runs well. There is no smoking, knocking, overheating or odd noises. The car will occassionally hesitate on acceleration. I don't know if this is an issue with the turbo or something else. Turbo does kick in and work. The 5 speed trans will sometimes grind going into 2nd gear. If you don't shift too quickly it works fine. It will grind if you try to downshift into 2nd at a high speed. Transmission and clutch work fine other than the 2nd gear issue. Cooling fan doesn't seem to work. I never let the temp go higher than half way but the fan didn't come on at that point. Front end will need some attention. Noisy going over bumps. Brakes work fine. The tires look good but I'm sure they are quite old.
Exterior: The body and paint look good. There are no dents or rust on the body. The paint on the front bumper is scraped. The winshield has a large crack and will need to be replaced.
Interior: Interior is pretty nice for the age. Seats are good shape with no tears. Dash is solid with no cracks. The car has a sunroof which leaks and has damaged the front section of the headliner. Overall a nice interior.
Overall this is a great car to fix up and return to its former glory or perhaps drop a V8 in it.
Terms: As stated above because the vehicle did not pass the California emmisions inspection buyers must be in a state other than California. The vehicle will need to be towed or trailered from its current location in San Fancisco , CA. A nonrefundable deposit of $500 is due via Paypal within 24 hours of the auctions end. The balance is due within 7 days and the car must be picked up within 10 days.

2015 Ford Mustang to offer solid-rear axle, sort of
Tue, 17 Dec 2013One of the biggest knocks against the last Ford Mustang was its solid-rear axle. Not one to actively court criticism, Ford dutifully swapped out the old-fashioned rear end for something a bit more modern in the redesigned 2015 Mustang, adding an independent rear suspension across the board.
While an IRS Mustang is great news for those that value handling and ride comfort, there's one big group that it's bad news for - drag racers. See, a solid-rear axle is a big deal for drag racers, because not only is it more durable and cheaper, but it's better for the hard launches that can make or break a race.
To satiate this vocal demographic, Ford will sell a body-in-white version of the Stang, complete with a nine-inch rear axle, that will debut at the 2014 Performance Racing Industry show. The news came from gas2.org, which cited an unnamed employee of Ford Racing at this year's PRI show.
Ford F-Series Super Duty prototype reduced to smoldering mess of aluminum and steel [UPDATE]
Mon, 04 Aug 2014The most important bit of information you need to know after looking through our high-res gallery of images depicting a prototype 2016 Ford F-Series Super Duty pickup truck burning to the ground is that nobody was hurt. There were two engineers inside the vehicle when it caught fire, and both exited to safety.
That's the good news. The bad news is that the truck, which appears to have been testing in Death Valley, appears to be a total loss, minus, of course, whatever information Ford can glean from the conflagration - particularly tracing it back to its root cause. Besides that, we're also expecting the body of the next Super Duty to be hewn from aluminum, as is the case with its smaller brother, the brand-new F-150. Note the little aluminum droppings littering the roadway as apparent proof of that.
Our spy photographers report that it took just 21 minutes for the F-Series Super Duty to burn completely to the ground. The fire appears to have started in the driver-side front wheel well, spreading to engulf the entire front end in three minutes. We can't confirm the source of the blaze, but we're curious if the car's black vinyl cladding, meant to obscure the secrets within, contributed to the fire.
Brits recreate iconic Bullitt chase scene
Tue, 13 May 2014Recreating the famous chase scene from Bullitt has become almost an art form in its own right. We've seen it done in a music video, with scale models and even in commercials. There are few films that are as defined by a single scene as the 1968 classic. Even if you don't know a single beat of the plot, the Highland Green Ford Mustang racing a Dodge Charger through the hilly streets of San Francisco is famous. It's so well known that the Silverstone Classic has created a homage to promote its celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Mustang at this year's event in July.
Filmed around the famous UK circuit, the short film generally gets the key points of the scene right. It even has a green Volkswagen Beetle that keeps reappearing, as in the movie. Unfortunately, its Steve McQueen stand-in looks a little too old for the role. While the video shortens the chase considerably, it's still great to see these '60s behemoths leaning and sliding around the track. Scroll down for a touch of nostalgia thanks to one of the greatest scenes ever in cinema - we've got both the recreation and the original chase seen from the movie waiting for you.
