Up for auction is a 1959 Ford Fairlane 500. This car was bought new here in Oklahoma City by the current owners Father and has been garaged it's whole life.

This car is completely RUST FREE. It went through a mild restoration ten years ago. Re-built the original 292 and automatic,( 4K miles current) all brakes, complete paint job and re-plated bumpers.
Sorry, The car does need to be washed but we didn't have time. His father had the Air Conditioning installed at Sears in 1960 and its always been kept up and charged.
It blew very cold air today. Everything works perfectly as it should in the car, Heater, clock, radio, power steering, air, lights, everything. It starts and drives wonderfully every time.
We are very motivated to sell this car. The owner is now very old himself. I will handle the entire sale for him. I've shipped several cars to Europe and Australia and familiar with the
process so don't be afraid to bid if your over seas. There is a Loves truck stop 2 miles from the car right next to I-40 for easy transport loading. I also use a very reliable transporter
that we can use to get the car where you would like it. We will accept a certified bank check or wire transfer and will release the vehicle and title at that time. If you would like to call or email
with any questions feel free After 5PM Central (Oklahoma City) 405-281-6007 Leave a message if I don't answer I will call you.

Daimler consulting with Ford about 3-cylinder engines

Mon, 27 May 2013

Soon enough, Ford will offer its 1.0-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder engine under the hood of the Fiesta here in the United States, building on the success of the small powerplant overseas. In fact, this success has caused other automakers to take notice, and according to Automotive News Europe, Daimler is now talking to Ford about this engine for use in its own products.
In other markets, Ford offers the 1.0-liter mill under the hood of the Focus (we had the chance to sample this package on our home turf), as well as the B-Max MPV. For this new collaboration, Daimler would use the turbo-three in the next-generation Smart ForTwo, as well as the Renault Twingo, which the German automaker will be collaborating on as part of its alliance with Renault-Nissan. Speaking to AN, a Mercedes-Benz engineer called the 1.0-liter mill an "interesting and impressive engine."
In exchange for details about the EcoBoost inline-three, Daimler will supply Ford with information regarding its Euro6 stratified lean-burn gasoline engine, which is found in the new E-Class sedan.

Ford Explorer is America's new favorite police car

Mon, 24 Mar 2014

There is a new vehicle that you should keep an eye out for when you're going a little too fast down the Interstate. Ford's Explorer-based Police Interceptor Utility was the bestselling new law enforcement model in the country last year, and signs show that won't be changing anytime soon.
Ford sold 14,086 Interceptor Utilities in 2013, up 140% from the year before, and 10,897 Interceptor Sedans, up 31%, according to USA Today. Overall, the brand's police sales were up 48 percent, and they were enough to boost the company's law enforcement vehicle market share by 9 points to nearly 50 percent.
The success comes just a few years after it made the decision to finally retire the long-serving Crown Victoria-based cruiser for two more modern vehicles. "We had to reinvent the category," said Chris Terry of Ford Communications to Autoblog. The automaker had to convince police departments that a unibody chassis without a V8 could perform better than a model that had been a law enforcement staple for years.

Project Ugly Horse: Part VIII

Fri, 17 May 2013

Now With More EcoBoost
There's an EcoBoost 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder in there somewhere, and it's headed straight for Ugly Horse.
For the second time in my life, I'm staring at an engine in the back of a truck with no concept of how to get it safely into the garage by my lonesome. The first time this happened, I dragged home a $300 International 345 V8 in the back of my Scout Terra only to discover that the bounds of my manliness terminated well before my ability to muscle that 800-pound cast iron block out of the pickup bed.
