I sold my business so I no longer need the truck.  We used it for moving Vending Machines.  The lift is great for moving motorcycles and atvs. The perfect toyhauler for a dunes crew.

I just used the truck to move from Iowa to Southern CA (the truck is back in Iowa).  The truck ran great and pulled the loaded 18' trailer effortlessly.  It turned over 200k on the 4500 mile trip. I did not have to add any oil.  The trani and engine temps did fine even pulling the load up the mountains.  It runs good.  The 4wd works good, just used it this week in the snow.  The tires have decent life left on them.

It is equipped with an HydroPak.  This unit is approved by California for use.  It produces hydrogen gas which is mixed with the air intake.  It burns the fuel cleaner which keeps the oil cleaner and the engine running longer.  You just add water to the HydroPak. It removes the hydrogen from the water.

The lift is manufactured by Xtra Lift. I had it customized with more tie-down points.  The lift can handle around 1200 lbs.  I just replaced the hydraulic pump motor, it has hardly been used since.  The lift bed is 4' wide, length is about 7' +/- with the gate closed.

I bought the truck used with around 150k miles on it.  The engine had been replaced with the newer-style good 6.0L.  I have not had any problem with the engine. The water cooler for the EGR valve failed. I had a by-pass kit installed.  You will not have to worry about that failing again.  I just replaced the alternator last week while in CA.

The problems.
The back up lights like to randomly work when you are driving down the road.  It seems to be a short in the ground wire to the relay. It is worse when it rains or on rough roads.  On this last 4500 mile trip they came on a couple times and went right back off.  You can hear the relay click when it happens.

It has quarter sized rock ding in the windshield. It has been glued to keep from spreading.  It was that way when I bought it 3 years ago.  It has not spread. (See the last two pictures)

There is some rust starting to show. The fenders have some scrapes and dings.  The drivers side rear door was damaged at the bottom before I bought it. I'm not sure what happened.

It does have a gooseneck recessed ball in the bed below the lift. I cut the gooseneck/fifth wheel electrical connection. It was a home splice job that was causing problems.  The wire and plug are still there if you want to re-splice it.

The drivers seat is worn from getting in and out of the truck.

The power sunroof  and the information center (compass, temp, mpg, etc) do not work.  The controls for the sun roof and the information center are both located above the rearview mirror.  Seems that the problem is probably related.

I may be willing to deliver the truck. Especially if it some where between Iowa and Southern California.  I would just ask you to cover the fuel cost.  Please make arrangements with me about this before buying, if you don't, please understand that I may need to charge more than fuel cost for delivery or I may not be able to do it at all.

Ford F-150 SVT Raptor sales jumping to new heights

Thu, 12 Sep 2013

Ford can't seem to build F-150 SVT Raptors fast enough. The off-road-ready trucks have been one of the Blue Oval's most reliable sellers, with record sales in eight of the last 10 months and a 14-percent jump in 2013. That's impressive enough, considering that the least expensive Raptor starts at $44,000. Factor in the modded F-150's fuel economy (it's rated at 11 miles per gallon in the city and 16 on the highway) and a national average gas price, as of this writing, of $3.55 per gallon, and its success is as unlikely as Ford's home team, the Detroit Lions, winning the Super Bowl this year (sorry, Lions fans, we're just quoting the experts in Vegas...).
Yet for some reason, Raptors spend an average of just 15 days on dealer lots before being snapped up, which is a quarter of the 60-day industry average. According to Ford's truck group marketing manager, Doug Scott, it's capability that keeps the Raptor selling strong. "What's helping drive Raptor sales is that Raptor delivers unmatched off-road performance to our customers. Raptor is also proof of our commitment to offer a truck for every customer and continuously improving them to meet our customers' evolving needs."
To address the strong demand for Raptors, Ford will bump production from three trucks per hour to five. Not much, we agree. But building an extra 48 trucks per day, at most, seems like a prudent way of addressing demand without oversaturating what is ultimately a niche market. Check out the press release below for more.

Alan Mulally talks about why Ford's Falcon had to die

Tue, 20 Aug 2013

When Ford made the decision to end production of the Falcon sedan and Territory CUV in Australia, it wasn't a popular move Down Under. The large, four-door Falcon had been in production for 50 years, and while Ford has reaffirmed its commitment to the Australian market, it's understandable that some people still aren't all that crazy about the Blue Oval's decision.
Speaking to CEO Alan Mulally after Ford's Go Further event in Sydney, Australian site Go Auto reports that the decision was not one made lightly, and that the automaker is doing everything possible to respect the Falcon and Territory's "stakeholders." It's an interesting piece that shows a softer side of a corporation, while demonstrating that Ford is doing everything in its power to make the end of production as smooth as possible for all parties.
Head over to Go Auto for the full series of remarks from Mulally, and then let us know what you think of Ford's handling of the Falcon and Territory discontinuations, in Comments.

Meet Floyd Pullin, 102-year-old honorary president of Ford trucks [w/video]

Wed, 28 Aug 2013

When we talk about trucks we often talk about how loyal truck owners are; it's men like Floyd Pullin who provide the proof. The 102-year-old man from Confluence, Pennsylvania has only owned Ford products since the 1920s, and he's done so well by Ford Trucks that the division named him honorary president for a day, not long after he took delivery of his latest ride, a 2013 F-150 STX.
That's the 16th Ford he's owned. If he bought his first when he was 16, he'd have flipped into a new car or truck about every five years. For 86 years. Not a bad run of business for either side.
Ford Trucks made a video to wish Pullin a happy birthday, which was celebrated at his local Ford dealership and was visited by a Pennsylvania state senator. You can watch it below.
