1975 Ford F-100 Xlt Ranger 4x2 ((low Miles)) ***survivor*** on 2040-cars

Year:1975 Mileage:10347
Location:

This is it!!!  A virtual time capsule!!  A true survivor in GREAT shape for a 39 year old truck!!  This is the one you've been looking for!  All of the green paint appears to be original, some of the white has been repainted.  It does not appear to have had any rust repair.  The pictures show some minor paint "bubbling".  Also, the truck has some hail damage mainly isolated to the hood.  I'm not sure if the hail shows in the pictures.  Even inside the bed of the truck is very good with normal scratches but no rust!!  Tailgate is nice, the trim around the truck has some dings etc but the body shows no dents.  Pretty good for surviving almost 40 years!!  The interior is very nice.  The seat is firm and not broken down, there is however some rips in the driver's area of the seat...as you can see.  Nice door panels with some minor warping. Original headliner that's a little warped also.  Dash is excellent with NO cracks or discolorations!!

Options:  390 V8...C6 automatic, factory AC.  It is unknown if the AC works, the compressor is not frozen up.  High line trim package XLT Ranger.  Factory box side tool box.  Please note: The lock is frozen and the door hasn't been opened for YEARS.

Mechanically the truck starts, runs and drives very nice.  The cab is tight with very minimal air leaks.  It's amazing how tight this truck is after all these years!!  Underneath, the truck has some normal seepage around the oil pan, but it's also amazingly dry underneath!!!

The truck has 110,000 actual miles. The listing required the exact 5 digits, so the miles have turned over 100,000.

Any questions??  If you have any I prefer phone calls as I don't check my email regularly. So for a faster response to any questions just give me a call.  Tom 402-650-3849

The fine print:  The reserve is set far below the $5000. mark!!  I feel it's a fair number to allow anyone to own this very nice 1975 F-100.  The winning bidder to send a $500. non-refundable deposit via Paypal within 48 hours end of auction.  The balance to be paid in the form of certified bank funds, bank to bank wire transfer or cash at the time of pick up FOB Omaha, Nebraska. The truck is sold in AS-IS WHERE-IS CONDITION!!  This is a 39 year old truck and I've done my best to honestly describe it's condition and runability.  BID TO OWN...BUT BID ONLY IF YOU FULLY INTEND TO FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THE TRANSACTION...PLEASE!!!

Again...any questions call me anytime!!  Thanks!!

Ford confirms 1.5-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine for 2014 Fusion

Thu, 11 Apr 2013

Earlier this week, reports were swirling 'round the internet about the 2014 Ford Fusion getting a new 1.5-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost engine. That was... half correct. Ford today confirmed that the 2014 Fusion is, in fact, getting a new 1.5-liter EcoBoost mill, but it has four cylinders, not three.
The new 1.5-liter engine will be the fifth EcoBoost powerplant from Ford Motor Company. Initially to be built at the automaker's Craiova, Romania plant, it will also be offered in the Fusion's twin, the Mondeo, in other markets. This engine will debut at the Shanghai Motor Show next month, and the 1.5-liter is of particular importance in the Chinese market - there is significant tax relief in the People's Republic for vehicles powered by engines with a capacity of 1.5 liters or less.
At a media briefing Thursday, Ford declined to divulge exact power or fuel economy numbers, though Joe Bakaj, vice president of powertrain engineering, told Autoblog that power output should be similar to that of the current 1.6-liter inline-four, and that overall efficiency will be "better than the 1.6." Our earlier report stated that the 1.5-liter four will produce 177 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque - losses of 1 hp and 7 lb-ft versus the 1.6-liter engine. Ford states that the 1.5-liter four will feature many of the same technologies used on the company's 1.0-liter EcoBoost inline-three, including an integrated exhaust manifold that recaptures much of the engine's heat.

BMW V8-powered Ford Model A is the definition of Hot Rod

Thu, 20 Jun 2013

Today, hotrodding has a pretty staid definition. Take one classic American car, add one classic American V8, sprinkle with tire smoke and you pretty much have every hot rod to roll out of a shop in the last 40 years. Mike Borroughs knows it wasn't always this way. Once upon a time, getting your bucket to go faster meant grabbing whatever parts were lazing about the yard, bolting them together with a bit of ingenuity and laughing your way down the quarter mile. It's in that spirit that Burroughs built his 1928 Ford Model A.
Rather than turn to the tired flathead or the common Chevrolet small block, Burroughs plucked a 4.0-liter V8 from a 1995 BMW 7 Series. With 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, the engine has no trouble shuffling the old A around town. He had to build a custom chassis to get everything to cooperate, but the result is a 1,500-pound heathen that looks built to harass dry lake beds. You can check it out in the video below. Be warned, the soundtrack by Hanni el Khatib may not be safe for work - awesomeness of this caliber rarely is.

Toyota, Ford and Honda again top Consumer Reports Car-Brand Perception Survey

Fri, 01 Feb 2013

Consumer Reports has released its annual Car-Brand Perception Survey, and the list looks awfully familiar. The top six brands are identical to last year's results, with Toyota, Ford and Honda continuing to occupy the podium. All told, Toyota walked away with 133 points, putting it 15 ahead of second-place Ford. Honda jumped 26 points this year, narrowing Ford's lead to just four points in total.
Consumer Reports polls buyers from across the country on how they see multiple brands in seven categories, including quality, safety, value, performance, design/style, technology/innovation and environmentally friendly/green. Researchers then combine the findings to come up with the total brand score.
While value and performance remain important to buyers, CR found quality and safety are still on top when it comes to significance. Scion and Mitsubishi found themselves at the bottom of the pack with the worst score of all, tied at just six points. Ram, Fiat and Mini filled out the lowest five with scores of seven, eight and 10 points, respectively. You can read the full press release below for more information, or head over to the Consumer Reports site.
