1955 Ford Truck Custom Cab F100 Hot Rod!! Rat Rod!!! on 2040-cars
Fresno, California, United States
This is a 1955 Ford Truck F100 Custom Cab! I recently picked this truck up and have not had it long. The truck was built back in the day! late 70's- early 80's. This is a Running Driving Truck! I had to do a few things to it because it had been sitting for quite a few years. I got it running and it runs really good! I have driven the truck around for the last few days, not too far because it is currently on a Ca Non Op. It might still have a few Bugs I would kit carb at some point but she still sounds and runs good down the road. Gears have been changed by previous owner, it will get down the freeway with no problem! I'll try and give my best description of the truck but a lot has been done to it. Body is good, sheet metal is straight! Paint is older and does have Clear coming off at different areas on truck. There are a few places where paint has pealed so either run like that or it will need paint! your choice! This Truck does have the Tilt front Hood which is set up with Hydraulic tilt that is some how connected to the power steering pump. (I could not get it to work) so u can lift the hood Manually. Interior is straight out of the 70's has that cool old look. Has after market Gauges and they work! Has Under the Dash AC Unit and it blows but will need service!!! Owner told me it worked when parked!! Nice original Seat and has Seat Belts!! inside looks good!!could use a little cleaning like (carpet). Very Nice Grille and YES the Bumpers are off another Truck!! He want that Big Look for the Truck!! Tailgate is custom with Hidden Cables! Ok now for the Rust The Rear Cab Corners will need replaced or repaired! (please see Pics). The Bed is Custom Made! Sides Super Straight and Smooth, also Custom Tailgate Smooth! The Top of Bed Rails have been replaced with Stainless Steel (please look at pics) I have Ply wood in Bed that I put in and will have a couple bolts holding it down. Motor is Ford SB either a 260-289, It has a 3 Speed on the Floor mated to it. Fun to Drive with the Floor shifter!!! It starts right up! and sounds good with the Dual Exhaust and I believe the pipes are Glass Packs (sounds Great)! I really don't know a lot about the engine I think the only thing I would do it maybe Kit the Carb, it idles good after it warms up. I think the engine is around 1964-66. The motor does need some cleaning has oil here and there. I have had this trucked parked in my garage for a month or so and no oil leaks on the floor, (not sure where the old oil on block came from). Chassis is all Original Ford! This Truck Does have Power Steering and Steers really Nice down the Road and when stopped it turns easy!! I drove the truck at high speeds and she drove Straight and Brakes work Like 1955 Brakes Should!! (if you know what I mean you have to put some foot power on them) lol It does not wonder down the road but if you hit a bump it does pull a little nothing bad at all! Electrical is all there and does have a few too many wires on fire wall but I guess that's the way the guy did it back then. Lights, Blinkers, Hazards, Taillights. Brake lights, Dome light, Wipers all WORK!!! This is a Running Truck! I have not had it long at all so I 'mtelling you what I know and see on the truck. Its not a show truck its a Hot Rod, Rat Rod or Cruiser, Its Old School and Looks Old School. The Truck sat for a few years before I got to it, so I only know what I see. Still a nice little 55 that you can drive and still do your own stuff to it. If You Have any Questions Please ask!!! I am trying to describe the truck the best I can. I have not have it long. Title is Clear and in My name with a Ca Non Op. I will sell overseas and will help with loading on my end as much as possible. There will be a $500.00 Deposit due within 3 days at end of auction through pay pal with the remaining balance to be paid within 6 Days at end of auction Unless other arrangements are made! it will be Cash, or Certified Bank Cashers Check Or Bank Transfer. Chris Harris pits Fiesta ST against Mercedes G63 AMG in 0-60 battle... sort of
Thu, 01 Aug 2013Vehicle performance tests are serious business, with reputations made or broken by things like braking distance, top speed, and lateral g-forces. King of the metrics, though, is the 0-60 run, which for unknown reasons has become the benchmark for what truly makes a car a performance machine.
Now, Chris Harris from Drive has turned the whole idea behind the sprint to 60 on its ear. Taking a new Ford Fiesta ST, Harris asks a simple question: would the ST be quicker to 60 on its own, or on a trailer being towed by a Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG?
It's a fair question, really. The Fiesta Harris tested hit 60 in 7.2 seconds on a slightly uphill section of runway. It should be noted that Harris quotes his ST at 182 horsepower, which is about 15 ponies less than what we're getting in the US, so these numbers might not hold up all that well against an American model. The G63 AMG, meanwhile, is a 536-horsepower monster, powered by a twin-turbo V8 that, able to propel the big SUV to 60 mph in just 5.2 seconds without towing a Fiesta.
New car market raining on convertibles' parade
Mon, 08 Jul 2013Whether fitted with soft or hard folding lids, today's droptops are better than ever for year-round motoring. Advancements in power top mechanisms, sealing, aerodynamics, structural rigidity, rollover safety and creature comforts like heated and cooled seats mean that modern convertibles are more versatile and better to drive than ever before. Yet the segment's sales took a dive during the recession and haven't come back, Automotive News reports.
Part of that is because automakers are looking at today's more sensible buyers and simply not developing as many new models, and that lack of fresh iron is curbing sales. AN cites R.L. Polk data which notes that only about one percent of new vehicles registered in the US last year had tops that folded. Back in 2009, it was 1.4 percent, and it was 2 percent in 2006. All-in, some 151,636 convertibles were registered in 2012. That's more units more than were registered in each of the past three years, but the market has also grown as the economy has picked up speed, and as a percentage of new vehicles purchased, convertible sales are lagging.
Thus far in 2013, the Ford Mustang is America's top-selling convertible, with 6,421 units registered through the end of April, followed by its rival, the Chevrolet Camaro, at 4,751 units. The Volkswagen Beetle isn't far behind, with 4,305, but from that point, it's a steep drop off to the fourth-place Mercedes-Benz SL-Class and its 2,380 sales.
Bill Ford wins National Pond Hockey Championship with employees
Tue, 11 Feb 2014Who says executives aren't people? This past weekend, Bill Ford, executive chairman of Ford Motor Company, and a group of employees trekked up to Eagle River, WI for a few games of pond hockey. Team Ford took part in the 2014 Labatt Blue/USA Pond Hockey Championship, capturing its fifth title in the 50+ Tier 1 Division.
"It feels great to win," Ford, who plays on the team alongside other Ford employees, told the USA Hockey website. "It was fun to play [River Valley Pioneers] because they're great guys and we play them every year. We finally beat them, which we were due. It was a very clean game, a tough game."
The FoMoCo team managed to score seven goals to River Valley's two, and went undefeated in all five of its games during the tourney. Take a look below for the official press release on Team Ford's win.
