This is the nicest, lowest mile 1995 Ford Explorer you will run across this year. This vehicle has absolutely no mechanical issues and drives beautifully with an engine and transmission I would trust to take me anywhere and back, in fact you can buy this one with confidence as I will put a guarantee that if you or a mechanic find anything wrong with this one you can gladly let you walk away and I will pay for your trip! As far as condition of the exterior and interior it is in extremely great shape for the age of the vehicle, there was a spot on the roof in front of the sunroof that was repainted ( an area about six inches around where a rock chip started and paint peeled, then the only other cosmetic issue was the front drivers side fender was painted as the previous owner ran partway through a barbed wire fence before backing right back out. the tires are good and the chrome rims are amazingly clean and nice. It has leather that is in amazing shape for the year and I put seat covers on the front to preserve them even more ( have pics with and without for you), it has a trailer tow hitch that I repainted black, it is all power and even a power sunroof, best of all everything in this almost 20 year old vehicle works just like the day it was new. 4x4 is in great shape with absolutely NO unusual noises or problems! I can not stress enough how amazing shape this 4 wheel drive vehicle is in and would trust to put my own family member in it and send them across country this afternoon and have no worries about them getting there and back again! I think whoever buys this great shape SUV will find what I am saying is 100% accurate and LOVE driving their as close to new for a 19 year old vehicle as you can ever expect to find! This is your chance to get an amazing driving, awesome looking SUV at a great price, so jump in here and get yourself the absolute buy of the year with this one! Thank you for reading and I hope you are the winner of this vehicle as you will not be sorry!

Ford Q3 pretax profits drop to $1.18B

Fri, 24 Oct 2014

Following positive third quarter financial results recently from General Motors, rival Ford took a tumble in Q3. The automaker posted pre-tax profits of $1.18 billion, compared to about $2.59 billion in Q3 2013, a drop of around 54 percent. Net income also suffered with $835 million made in the quarter, versus $1.272 billion last year, a decline of about 34 percent. The Blue Oval blamed the gloomy figures on three reasons in its release: "lower volume, higher warranty costs and adverse balance sheet exchange effects."
There were problems of one kind or another in practically every region. North America experienced higher warranty costs than expected, partially due to recalls. The sales volume for the quarter was 665,000 units, versus 725,000 in Q3 2013, and pre-tax results amounted to $1.41 billion versus $2.296 billion last year.
South America and Europe both posted worse pre-tax results than last year. On the bright side, European volume was up slightly to 321,000 vehicles, from 303,000 in Q3 2013. The Middle East and Africa also lost $15 million, but that was an improvement compared to the $25 million loss previously experienced in this region.

1947 Chevy rat rod pickup leaves rubber and smoke in its wake

Thu, 08 May 2014

Cool comes in multiple flavors. One one hand, we have the sophisticated attraction of svelte design and the efficient use of power. Of course, on the other hand there is the allure of being the bad boy and going against the grain. That is part of the appeal of rat rods. Ideally, they are built without rules to an owner's specific tastes, and this widened and heavily modified 1947 Chevrolet pickup rod is a perfect example of that spirit.
Coming down the highway with a bent grille, rusted body and pouring smoke, it looks like the pickup from hell. It backs up the looks with some very impressive mechanicals too. Owner Troy Gubser says that the truck packs a Ford Power Stroke diesel with to 42 pounds of boost that runs out of 8-inch exhaust stacks at the back. He claims it managed 505 horsepower and 885 pound-feet of torque on the dyno. To harness all that power, this hot rod has a ZF five-speed manual gearbox with a ceramic clutch and short-throw shifter. Plus, it has cool little features like a doorbell on the tailgate that operates an air horn.
You might not expect a truck like this to actually be useful, but it has a fifth wheel coupling to haul an RV around drag races and car shows. The air suspension also probably keeps the ride fairly comfy when Gubser wants it to be. Scroll down to check out this beastly rat rod pickup and watch it engage in some diesel drag racing. Warning, there is some NSFW language.

The history and future of the Ford Bronco

Tue, 17 Jun 2014

Some have suggested that the Bronco's demise was hastened by the fallout from the O.J. trial.
Twenty years ago today, ex-NFL linebacker Al "A.C." Cowlings drove his friend and onetime running back Orenthal James "O.J." Simpson on a parade lap of the Los Angeles highway system and onto an ignoble page of the history books. If you're in your late 20s or older, or a fastidious young student of 1990s American history, you're absolutely aware that Al and O.J.'s steed for the 'chase' was a white Ford Bronco. The white Ford Bronco, even.
