One Owner Estate Car All Books & Records Rare Hard/fixed Top Ferrari 348tb Red on 2040-cars

I bought this car from the original (deceased) owner's estate (he passed in 2006) in Augusta, Georgia -
I bought it as part of a four car package (the other cars being early Ford Mustangs which is my forte) - The car was bought, brand new, in 1989 at FAF Motorcars (Ferrari of Atlanta) a factory-authorized Ferrari dealership- It is a US model car (see pix of window sticker). MSRP was $ 95,850.00 but because of the wait times on these (then) brand new introduced cars I have an original bill of sale that shows the original owner paying FAF Motorcars $ 160,000.00 PLUS SALES TAX for this car - The car comes with every book, record, receipt, leather books, leather tool kit, original factory brochures & posters & more. The original owners son-in-law (estate executor) had the 40,000 major service done about 6 years ago and when that was done he also had the upgrades done to the factory A/C (blows ice cold) and the Bosch computers (got the bugs out) - The car runs and drives fantastic - It has the original paint that is a solid 8 on a scale of 1 to 10 - The original Connolly leather interior still smells new - Non-smoking owner - The car was custom-ordered for the original owner so every factory letter, dealer & factory correspondence etc. is in this cars very thick file - Really great stuff that you just do not see with a 26-year-old-car, let alone a one owner Ferrari Fly in and drive home - Original owner ordered the car factory-radio DELETE because he said that the only music allowed in a Ferrari is the one V8 going on behind his head - He also ordered a fix-top/roof because he did not want the targa top to leak on him and he did not want the body flex of a targa top while driving the car - I have ordered a set of 4 brand new high dollar Goodyear Supercar tires, for the car, and they will be installed prior to new owner taking possession of this car - The tires that are on the car are fine (tread-wise) but they are 12 years old and I would not feel comfortable allowing anyone to buy a car from me with 12 year old tires on it - This car is very well sorted out and needs nothing to drive and enjoy - Car has never been out of the state of georgia The tItle is clear and ready to be signed over to the new owner - I have researched price/value on these cars and I have seen them selling for as low as $ 35,000.00 (high mileage, multi owner,- junk) to $ 85,000.00 (one owner, low mileage, trailer queen car) - I have priced the car realistically - It is priced below NADA retail - This car is meant to be driven. Ferrari 250 GTO heading to The Quail with no reserve
Fri, 04 Jul 2014It's not every day that a Ferrari 250 GTO changes hands. It is, after all, one of the most highly coveted cars ever made, and there were only 39 of them built in the first place. So when one goes up for sale, it tends to fetch millions. Tens of millions, actually, and the prices keep escalating.
Throughout most of the 1980s they were trading hands for six figures. In 1989 one sold for $10 million. A few months later, $13 million. Prices fluctuated in the 90s, but by 2012, one sold for a whopping $35 million, eclipsed the following year at $52 million. Nobody knows what the next one will sell for, but we're about to find out.
That's because Bonhams has got one consigned for its upcoming auction at the Quail Lodge during Monterey weekend next month. And it's offering it without reserve, meaning that it could sell for the opening bid (however unlikely), it could break the previous record or it could land anywhere in between or beyond.
Ferrari pays tribute to Niki Lauda with one-off 458
Mon, 25 Nov 2013Though Niki Lauda may today be chairman of the Mercedes F1 team, anyone who's seen Rush will know that he's inexorably tied to Ferrari. And it's that bond that Ferrari has celebrated with this special-edition 458 Italia.
Commissioned by an evidently dedicated fan through Maranello's Tailor Made program, this one-off 458 features a red paintjob with white roof and gold wheels. It's a livery that apes the cars Lauda drove for the Scuderia in the mid-70s, and carries through with tricolore racing stripes over the roof and throughout the red-stitched black leather interior.
Not the most subtle treatment we've seen, but then the Italia is hardly a subtle car to begin with. Lets just hope this particular example manages to steer clear of going up in flames as have so many 458s - and one notable 312 T2. Feel free to read more in the press release below.
$11.55 million 1964 Ferrari 250 LM highlights RM Auctions' first night in Monterey
Sat, 16 Aug 2014Some of the biggest auto auctions of the year are held during the weekend of the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. Millionaires gather in hopes of outbidding their contemporaries for incredibly rare cars. As Bonhams' record sale on Thursday of a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO for $38 million showed, these days the world's most expensive vehicles are found at auctions, often with a prancing horse on the nose.
RM Auctions' Friday sale reinforced this even more when a 1964 Ferrari 250 LM topped the evening by bringing in $11.55 million, after the 10 percent commission. It wasn't the only million-dollar vehicle of the event, though. A 1965 Ford GT40 Roadster Prototype garnered $6.93 million, and a 1966 Shelby Cobra 427 brought $1.705 million. Even a classic 1948 Tucker 48 had a final price of $1.57 million.
Surprisingly, some rather new cars actually brought in quite big money, too. A 2013 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Vitesse Le Ciel Californien sold for $2.42 million, and a 2006 Ford GT with just 13 miles sold for $407,000.
