1946 Dodge Power Wagon on 2040-cars

Dodge Power Wagon....this is not a stock vehicle, but original Dodge and Power Wagon parts were used.  Someone long ago has mounted a civilian pickup cab to the chassis of a 1/2 ton 4 x 4 military truck.  It has a very short wheel base (96 inches I think).   I'm selling this truck for a friend of mine who used it to work around his ranch for years.  The winch is currently apart but had some machining done to the shaft and gears.  The engine ran good, but life got busy and it was parked.  Rust is very minimal.  Mostly it is just the windshield frame that needs replacing.  I looked around and they are available, but sometimes can be expensive.  Most parts are available through vintagepowerwagons website.  The seats are there but the vinyl is crackly.

In terms of the modifications:  someone did a very clean job of mounting a utility flat bed and roll bar.  Maybe it was all fabricated, I can't really tell...it's pretty well done.  He then made flares for the front fenders.  Currently they are a little dinged, but make a nice touch and keep the proportions nice.

I have what I think is a fair reserve...it leaves meat on the bone for the next guy to put some time and money into it.  Because of it's recent history, it would be nice if this old truck finds a good home with happy tinkering hands to bring it back to life.  Feel free to call if you have any questions or want more photos.  Thanks, Erik (707) 357-0880.  I'm reserving the right to end auction early.

These cars are headed to the Great Crusher In The Sky

Fri, 24 Aug 2012

It happens every year. We bid adieu to some cars and trucks that will be missed, and say good riddance to others wondering how they stayed around so long. Whether they're being killed off for slow sales or due to a new product coming along to replace them, the list of vehicles being discontinued after 2012 is surprisingly long and diverse.
CNN Money has compiled a list of departing vehicles, to which we've added a few more of our own. In the slow sales column, cars like the Lexus HS 250h, Mercedes-Benz R-Class and the full Maybach lineup appear, while the Ford Escape Hybrid, Mazda CX-7 and Hyundai Veracruz are all having their gaps filled with more modern and more fuel-efficient alternatives. Obvious exceptions to the rule include models that still sell in decent numbers like the Jeep Liberty and the Chrysler Town & Country (which will eventually be replaced by a crossover-like vehicle).

2015 Dodge Challenger gets 6.4L 485-HP V8 Scat Pack

Thu, 17 Apr 2014

While it's not seeing the drastic facelift of its brother, the Charger, at the 2014 New York Auto Show, the 2015 Challenger is packing some upgrades of its own. It wears even more retro-inspired styling cues, and there are new 6.4-liter Scat Pack and Shaker trims.
If you thought the Challenger looked retro before, Dodge is taking things even farther with inspiration for the refresh coming from the iconic 1971 model. Up front, it has a new split grille, a larger power bulge in the hood and projector fog lights. At the rear, the classic inspiration continues with split LED taillights with Gloss Black trim, and a rear valance panel redesigned to make the 2015 model look wider and lower.
The '71 motif is carried inside as well with a high-sill center console and aluminum gauge bezels. There's still more than a touch of modernity, with an available 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment system and 7-inch customizable display between the retro-inspired speedometer and tachometer. For better safety, the Challenger is also now available with forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross path detection. Stability control and electric power steering are standard across all models too.

2015 Dodge Viper price drops $15k for 2015

Mon, 08 Sep 2014

We recently saw updated specs and new trims of the 2015 Viper, but it looks like the folks at Dodge were saving the biggest surprise for last. Prices on all levels of the American sports car are seeing an immediate, across-the-board price cut of $15,000; even 2014 models still remaining on dealer lots.
The new MSRP for the 2015 Viper in its base SRT trim now starts at $84,995, and when the TA and GTS come to the lineup later next year, they start at $100,995 and $107,995, respectively. The move seems like a swing for the fences that might help to quell slow sales.
Obviously, current Viper owners might be somewhat peeved that their investment was just re-priced by the company. However, to assuage some of their concerns, Dodge is giving all fifth-gen owners a certificate worth $15,000 towards the purchase of a new one, which comes in addition to the price reduction.
