You are looking at a 1952 Dodge B3C 116 pickup truck with the classic "Pilothouse" cab.  This truck was manufactured in San Leandro, California and originally purchased on July 1st, 1952 in San Bruno, California and spent most of its short working life in the San Francisco Bay area as a grocery delivery truck.  It was retired in the early 1970's and with very low mileage purchased by a gentleman who over the next 30+ years babied the truck and restored it to its current condition.  When he passed away, his widow sold the truck to an Idaho dealer and I purchased the truck from him in March of 2012 with my 87 year old father.  He is no longer able to drive the truck and so we are sadly putting it on the market.

The B3C model is defined as follows:  B designates the series of trucks which were produced from 1948-1954.  The "3" indicates models produced in 1951 and 1952.  The C indicates the 3/4 ton "express" model and the 116 refers to the wheelbase length in inches.  Includes the 218 flathead 6 original engine and four speed (w/granny) on the floor.
The "Pilothouse" cab was considered revolutionary for pickup trucks at the time and it features the wraparound rear window panels.
Condition of this truck is beautiful.  No rust, beautiful correct color paint for 1952, tires like new, brand new interior upholstery and headliner, gorgeous oak bed planks.  Shows really well.  We were invited to show the truck at prestigious The Art of the Car Concourse in Kansas City in June of 2012 and it was very well received there.
The flathead 6 purrs like a kitten.
I could go on and on about the great things about this truck, but the pictures show it off pretty well.
I will list the few things that are lacking to make this a perfect restoration.
The front parking lights do not work.  I have installed new bulbs and replaced the sockets, but that did not solve the problem.  I have not gone through the wiring to find the problem.  If I was going to keep the truck I would probably rewire the whole thing.
The speedometer, odometer, and amp meter all work, but the fuel gauge does not.
This spring the rear brake cylinders started to leak so I replaced them and installed new brake shoes and new brake lines on the rear.  Brakes are solid so I haven't done anything with the front end.
The original choke knob is missing, but a replacement has been installed.  I have not been able as yet to find the proper knob.
There is no radio and no turn signals.
I don't have anyway to verify the true mileage, but I from my inspection of all areas of the vehicle and its condition, I believe the mileage shown to be accurate.
If you have any questions please feel free to submit a question and I will answer as best I can.
Check my feedback and bid with confidence.

2015 Dodge Challenger Drag Pak previewed

Fri, 29 Aug 2014

Dodge and Mopar have never strayed far from success in drag racing, be it on run-what-you-brung nights at the local strip or at the highest levels of the sport. Hoping to both add to that heritage and capitalize on some of the media spotlight that's shown so brightly on the brand of late, Dodge has given us our first look at the 2015 Mopar Challenger Drag Pak test car.
Though this first iteration doesn't make use of the 707-horsepower Hellcat engine, it seems to be a pretty formidable racing package. Starting with a stock '15 Challenger, Mopar adds a full roll cage built to National Hot Rod Association specs. Rubber front and back is drag racing-ready as well, with 28x4.5-inch tires in the front, and fat 30x9-inch tires out back - all from Hoosier.
Powering the beast is a massive 426-cubic-inch (7.0-liter) Hemi Race V8, with output levels that are still unspecified. A Chrysler 727 automatic transmission connects up to a racing style shift lever, with integral line lock.

Dodge Journey gets more SUV-like look with new Crossroad model

Fri, 31 Jan 2014

Looking to play up its aging three-row crossover, Dodge will introduce a new model for its Journey franchise at next week's Chicago Auto Show. The 2014 Dodge Journey Crossroad will be a new trim level positioned between the SXT and Limited, and it will be distinguished from other Journey models thanks to a handful of styling add-ons.
Plucking a page right out of the appearance playbook of the Ford Explorer Sport, the Journey Crossroad gets a meaner, more SUV-like demeanor. The Journey has often straddled the line between tall wagon and crossover, but this new trim goes a long way toward skewing its visuals toward the utility vehicle end of the spectrum. That's thanks largely to the Platinum chrome exterior trim on its roof rails and side sills, unique fascias, smoked headlights and taillights and, of course, those black 19-inch wheels. Inside, the Journey Crossroad will get a similar treatment, with darker, Liquid Graphite accents throughout the cabin, and the model will also come standard with leather seats (which Dodge says are a new design), and Chrysler's giant 8.4-inch Uconnect screen.
The 2014 Journey Crossroad goes on sale this spring with a starting price of $24,995 (*not including $995 for destination) for the four-cylinder, front-wheel-drive model, but Dodge says that the model will also be offered with more power and capability from the optional 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and all-wheel-drive. Scroll down for the full press release, and check back next week for our live coverage from Chicago.

Brits recreate iconic Bullitt chase scene

Tue, 13 May 2014

Recreating the famous chase scene from Bullitt has become almost an art form in its own right. We've seen it done in a music video, with scale models and even in commercials. There are few films that are as defined by a single scene as the 1968 classic. Even if you don't know a single beat of the plot, the Highland Green Ford Mustang racing a Dodge Charger through the hilly streets of San Francisco is famous. It's so well known that the Silverstone Classic has created a homage to promote its celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Mustang at this year's event in July.
Filmed around the famous UK circuit, the short film generally gets the key points of the scene right. It even has a green Volkswagen Beetle that keeps reappearing, as in the movie. Unfortunately, its Steve McQueen stand-in looks a little too old for the role. While the video shortens the chase considerably, it's still great to see these '60s behemoths leaning and sliding around the track. Scroll down for a touch of nostalgia thanks to one of the greatest scenes ever in cinema - we've got both the recreation and the original chase seen from the movie waiting for you.
