1947 Dodge 4x4 One Ton Diesel Rat Rod Late Model Chassis No Reserve on 2040-cars
Cleveland, Tennessee, United States
project rat rod 4x4 diesel. The truck is a 47 dodge one ton. The first three pics are when I got it. I have tags and a clear title in my name for it. The next few pics show the body being mounted on a 1976 F-350 4x4 chassis. It has divorced mount NP 205 and power steering and power brakes.High pinion front end.It has 19.5 wheels from a railroad truck on it. I sold the cab and front clip but I have the title for this truck also for the chassis. The drivetrain is Mercedes benz 3.0 turbo diesel. It is six cylinder not 5. I have every receipt for every oil change, belt, seal, tires, fuses, muffler and everything done to this car since new. It was 1987 (non electronic) 300 SDL. It was in a wreck(body and suspension) I drove it on trailer and put the drivetrain in this truck, I have the title for this also.I wanted a tough 4X4 dually rat rod that got good fuel mileage. Time children and now grandchildren have taken up my time. I am selling to help fund the purchase of a church bus. I have a tilt column for it. The under dash air for it. the driveshafts for it. A third row seat from an astro van that fits good. The plastic diesel tank from the MB.i have a bed for it in the pics. I still have the original chassis and flathead stuff. Ther is a ton of time and money to get to this point and I have most parts to finish. The motor mounts and tranny mounts are new .(trying to do it right as I went.)A good project for someone with a shop and time. I have neither now. Ask any questions. Might take an interest in a shuttle bus with H-cap lift. Can be hauled on one trailer if you don't want the original chassis. Thanks,Tom

Watch 1,414-hp worth of Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat do stereo burnouts
Tue, 08 Jul 2014When Dodge announced that the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat would produce 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque from its supercharged 6.2-liter V8, automotive enthusiasts were shocked. The company had promised us that it would be powerful, but no one expected for the muscle car to post even larger numbers than the range-topping Viper.
Car and Driver recently got ahold of two new SRTs and decided that the only proper way to show them off was by lighting up the rears in stereo. With a combined 1,414 horsepower, the pair of them make burnouts from the Hellcat V8 look as easy as breathing. The tires start spinning at the slightest provocation and just don't stop. If you buy one of these, it looks like you and the employees at the local tire store are going to be on a first name basis.
Scroll down to watch these two Hellcats to lay down enough smoke to alert the local hook and ladder trucks.
Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you
Thu, 21 Feb 2013As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
2013 Dodge Charger AWD Sport
Tue, 29 Jan 2013We won't beat around the bush: The all-wheel-drive Dodge Charger is not a brand new car. This generation launched in 2011, AWD models and all. But for 2013, Chrysler has added an optional sport package to the AWD model, available with both the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 or the sweet, sweet 5.7-liter Hemi V8. The upgrades for this new sport pack are mainly cosmetic; a gloss black grille, new 19-inch alloy wheels and body-colored rear spoiler make up the list of exterior changes. Inside, there are new sport seats and paddle shifters, and the eight-speed automatic transmission has been reflashed for better performance.
But because vehicles like the Dodge Charger mainly stick out in our minds as being rear-drive bruisers, Chrysler wanted to give us the opportunity to test out the LX platform's foul-weather prowess. And perhaps no place more appropriate to test such a system was way up in Michigan's Upper Peninsula in the dead of winter.
