WATCH THE VIDEO IN 720 HIGH DEF! WATCH TO THE END FOR A TEST DRIVE!

If you're looking for the perfect truck to take you deep into the woods or to the business meeting, look no further than this '04 Silverado 2500HD LT. It's powered by the legendary 6.6l Duramax diesel engine. With big tires hooked to a bulletproof four wheel drive system, it can get the job done both off road and on. There's even a big Warn(?) winch bumper that's ready for you to add some pulling power to the front or we'll be glad to remove it at no extra charge! The Z82 trailer towing package will let you tow the biggest of campers or trailers without breaking a sweat plus it has the Z85 suspension package to give you the ride stance and ride while doing it. It has 3.73 gears and G80 limited slip differentials front and rear so you can rest assured that it will get the job done as well off road as it does on the highway. Best of all, it runs perfect and has NO RUST.

This truck basically has every option they could put on one from power seats to the auto-dimming rearview mirror with compass & thermometer, AM/FM Stereo CD, and even AUTOMATIC CLIMATE CONTROL. There's a driver information center in the dash that keeps up with everything from the oil changes to the fuel filer to the miles per gallon. The bed has a nice bedliner plus an expensive turnover ball setup. Don't let the 184,000 miles worry you...this truck runs great! It cranks right up hot or cold without smoking or making any weird noises. The engine has NO BLOWBY.

We wouldn't hesitate to get in this truck and drive it ANYWHERE you might need to go. We've had our mechanic go over everything to make sure it's in proper working order. The four wheel drive engages just like it should. There are no warning or service lights lit on the dash. The tires have plenty of tread & the truck stops smoothly at any speed. There are no rips or tears in the seats nor are there any smoke or pet odors. Best of all, we got a great buy on this truck that was just recently traded-in at the local dealer on a new one. We're passing that buy along to you in the form of a LOW RESERVE AUCTION. Bid to win because the high bidder will own this truck even if the final price is THOUSANDS BELOW the book value of nearly $20,000!!!

SILVERADO ROAD TEST

After some serious thoughts and many calculations...

Very few people will be excited to buy a hardcore pickup for work. Indeed, you don't purchase a big heavy-duty truck the same way you do with a Ford Explorer Sport Trac or a Honda Ridgeline, for instance...

(Photo: Philippe Champoux)

Entrepreneurs and fleet owners, who order the majority of these pickup trucks, are mainly interested in the payload capacity, the towing capacity and the weight of the vehicle. The capacities indicate if the truck will struggle to fulfill the required duties and wear out prematurely, while the weight tells how much you will have to pay to register the vehicle. In the province of Quebec, the "truck" replaces the "pickup truck" when the weight exceeds 3,000 kilos; consequently, the registration fees are higher. In addition, with a truck, users will have to perform comprehensive inspections before hitting the road and subsequent check-ups on a regular basis.

As for trucks that weigh over 4,500 kilos, it is mandatory for the owner to have a Class 1 or Class 3 driver's licence. This becomes problematic for businesses, because the industry currently suffers from a lack of truck drivers.

(Photo: Philippe Champoux)

With that in mind, when you're looking to buy a truck or pickup truck for work, like a Chevy 2500 HD, you want to get the strongest vehicle there is under 3,000 kilos. So, when it's time to step on the scale, GM's Sierra/Silverado duo is a smart choice. With winter approaching, many snowplowers, for example, will choose one of these two pickups to install their snowplow on, while using the bed for carrying the calcium spreader. For these reasons, most new owners will register their vehicle before installing any accessories on it. Let's not kid ourselves: in the weight department, there's always a way to cheat... all the more so when you know the folks who operate the scale. Moreover, you can fill up the tank and install the running boards only after the weigh-in.

End of the run

Our test model, a Silverado 2500 HD with diesel engine, is one of those vehicles that we purchase not with our hearts but with our brains. Who would want an end-of-the-run pickup truck that's being fully redesigned and soon released on the market (the 1500s will be

available first)? Perhaps the people who will make long-term calculations and manage to get a sweet deal. Or perhaps those who need to refresh their fleet as soon as possible. Anyhow, a lot of them would be surprised by its accelerations and handling.

The Duramax diesel engine is mated to an Allison 5-speed automatic transmission. Why buy an Allison gearbox? You have to try it to understand: the shifts are smoother, and the top gear allows the engine to rev at 1,550 rpm at a speed of 100 kph -- compared to 1,800 rpm with the old 6-speed manual transmission -- which results in a better fuel economy. Also, a switch mounted on the shifter allows the driver to perform gear changes with his fingertips, especially while towing on steep hills. Working together with the tow mode, the cruise control will even detect an acceleration during a descent and shift down in order to slow down the engine.

As for the upgraded engine, it delivers more power (360 hp) as well as

an

impressive 650 lb-ft of torque. Paradoxically, this engine creates less pollution in the form of NOx and noise emissions. It burns fuel more efficiently while the reduced compression ratio mitigates the various noises and vibrations.

Furthermore, a revised version of the variable geometry turbocharger enhances the driving experience. Aerodynamic modifications to the thrusters have been made to efficiently channel the turbo power and to create an instant response (no turbo lag). This is good for a 0-to-100 sprint in less than 9 seconds. According to GM, the improved turbocharger also helps to reduce toxic emissions.

That's not all. The Duramax 6600 engine is also equipped with an intake air heater that reduces smoke and emissions during cold or light load driving. The engine therefore warms up faster.

Now the fine print...

We understand you are buying online, but with us you are not buying blind! We handwrite every single description. We provide 24+ high resolution pictures & we inspect and photo what you see and what you can't see. We'll also be glad to email you detailed, closeup pictures of any area you'd like to see more of. People ask us all the time what is the catch to our vehicles. They assume that the prices are low because there is something wrong with them. Nothing could be further from the truth! Our secret is simple...LOW OVERHEAD. We are an internet-only dealer. We do not maintain regular office hours or a large sales facility. We simply have a Mississippi bonded dealer's license, a storage lot, and a computer. Since we don't have dozens of mechanics, helpers, salesmen, secretaries, etc. on our payroll; we are able to sell at greatly reduced prices.

You will notice that we sometimes go with private auctions. Our reasons are twofold...the latest scam is to send bogus 2nd chance offers to customers from a fake email address in an attempt to scam them out of money. With a private auction the scammers won't know who our bidders are so if you get a 2nd chance offer from us you will know that it is the real deal! In addition, we set our reserves to sell which upsets other sellers! In fact, sometimes we set our reserve $1,000 or more below what our cost is. This leads other sellers to email our customers and knock our product! We will provide the winning bidder, upon request, with a complete bid history including the usernames & bid amounts of all other bidders. All new or low feedback (under 5 positives) bidders must first email us for no other reason than just to make contact. This way we know we have serious bidders! If you don't make contact we will cancel your bid and black you out from future bidding. We do this to avoid the de@dbe@t bidders, so please respect our policy. If you have a rating of 5 or better you don't have to email us. In the meantime, sit back and enjoy our site and add us to your favorites, because you just never know when your dream vehicle will pop up!!!

We've put this vehicle through our EXTENSIVE inspection process & can report it has a great ride & drive! We do our best to let you know of any/all issues we can find on these vehicles since you're buying sight-unseen. WATCH THE VIDEO. If you have any specific questions then don't hesitate to call us email us. Please understand we do our best to describe, in detail, every vehicle we offer to the Ebay public. However, if you have any hesitation during the bidding period, please obtain a Buyer's Inspection PRIOR TO PLACING YOUR BID to satisfy yourself. After the auction ends, understand you are the legal winning bidder of this auction and agree to all our Terms and Conditions.

Be sure and take a look at the book values on this vehicle (or any other we have for sale) before you bid. We stopped offering a built-in BuyIt Now option due to ebay's policy of letting anyone with an email address register a username. We had half a dozen de@dbe@t bidders in a row hit the BIN with no intention of paying. We do have a BuyIt Now price so give us a call if you're interested. Make sure you call us for more information on this vehicle. As always though, our reserve is THOUSANDS less than NADA value so bid early & bid often so you don't miss out!

Don't be outbid at the last minute! With the eBay proxy bidding system all you have to do is enter the maximum amount you're willing to pay when you get ready to bid. Ebay will then automatically bid against other people for you up to that amount to help make sure you don't miss out.

This saves you from getting sniped in the last few seconds of an auction by someone with a computer program. Don't try and bid in small increments at the last minute...go ahead & bid the full amount you're willing to pay then let eBay do the hard work!

This vehicle is for sale locally so we must reserve the right to end the auction early due to local sale. However, once the reserve is met then we will let the auction run its course & sell to the high bidder. Now for the fine print...

This covers our costs for a notary, Fedex charges, and other paperwork. Lousiana, Canadian and other foreign buyers must pay a $149 Documentation Fee to cover the extra Fedex and other expenses associated with doing international (and Cajun) paperwork. We do have Mississippi temporary tags available if you desire one for an additional $50. However, we've sent hundreds of RVs all over the country without them & nobody has ever had an issue driving home. If you want one, LET US KNOW IN ADVANCE. We do not keep them on hand.

Winning bidder MUST contact us within 24 hours of auction end and make arrangements for payment at that time. Balance due within 5 days of auction end. This is due to the large number of de@dbeat bidders out there. De@dbeat bidders WILL receive negative feedback & be reported to ebay.

However, we sometimes buy vehicles that are dealer trade-ins where there is a payoff involved so the title may be delayed. Feel free to contact us if you need to verify we have the title on hand for a particular vehicle. All Titles Are Held For Up To 14 Working Days For Funds To Clear, Then Will Be Sent via Priority Mail. On Average, Titles Go Out Within a Few Days, But Occasionally There May Be Delays Beyond Our Control. We Cannot Accept Credit Card or Escrow Payments.

We're happy to help ARRANGE shipping however ultimately it is the buyer's responsibility to pick up or ship the vehicle. If you want to have your vehicle shipped we recommend DAS Auto Shippers. We've used them many times in the past with good reults. For the best rate contact them directly. Call 888-817-6203 for the fastest quote. To save money be sure and specify "terminal to terminal" shipping. We'll drop the vehicle off at their local terminal here at no charge to save you money. If you pick up the vehicle at a terminal nearby instead of having it delivered to your doorstep then you'll save even more!

If you prefer to fly in & drive home we'll be glad to pick you up at Jackson Internation Airport ("JAN"), the local Greyhound station, or the Amtrak Depot. Our business hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday (CST). Please arrange your flight times accordingly. We are more than happy to provide free pickup during normal business hours. We no longer will deliver vehicles after-hours or on weekends. Occasionally things pop up like a blown fuse or a headlight going out and after hours a mechanic isn't there to fix it.

We will store your vehicle up to 90 days free, however you must provide full coverage insurance & pay in full. We will not be responsible for damage or theft while in storage here. Our insurance policy will not allow it.

If you are not sure about something, Please ASK. Do not assume anything not listed is included. We reserve the right to cancel bids for excessive negative feedback. We reserve the right to end the listing if the vehicle is no longer available for sale. If you're email bounces back on us then we will block you from further bids until you call us. Occasionally we may call to verify a bidder is legitimate. Please do not bid on this auction unless you are serious about owning this vehicle. We spend approximately $150 per listing. This is how we make our living. All non-paying high bidders will be reported to Ebay, and negative feedback posted. We are not one of those sellers who is afraid to leave bad feedback where it is due even at the risk of receiving it ourselves in return(one of the major flaws in eBay's feedback system). You can look at our "feedback left for others" page for proof.

PLEASE ONLY BID WHAT YOU ARE WILLING TO PAY. IF THE RESERVE IS NOT MET, WE MAY CONTACT THE HIGH BIDDER TO OFFER THE SECOND CHANCE OPTION.

GM recalls Chevy Express, GMC Savana over rollaway concern

Mon, 21 Jan 2013

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall notice for a small number of General Motors fullsize vans due to possible rollaway concerns. On certain 2013 Chevrolet Express and 2013 GMC Savana models, it is possible to remove the key from the ignition without the shifter being in park.
Only 980 total units are being affected by this recall, and GM is fixing the issue by replacing the ignition cylinder and associated keys. Affected Chevy vans were built during most of November and December while its GMC counterpart was only built for a week in November. The recall goes into effect on January 23, and to find out if your vehicle applies to the recall, the GM and NHTSA contact numbers can be found on the official recall notice, which is posted below.

Survey says $25k barrier is a problem for EVs

Sun, 01 Dec 2013

The majority of consumers are more or less priced out of the market.
Electric cars are gaining popularity with the general public, but are they still too expensive? According to a survey 1,084 consumers by Navigant Research, a consulting firm located in Boulder, CO, 71 percent want their next car to cost under $25,000, while 41 percent won't go a cent above $20K. Looks like people are even thriftier than we'd originally thought.

Why the Corvette is Chevrolet's billion-dollar baby

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Edmunds has worked up a piece that tries to figure out just how much the global Chevrolet Corvette economy is worth, a spitballed guesstimate putting the number at more than $2.5 billion with the proviso that the number is probably low. It starts by taking Corvette's new car sales of 14,132 units last year, which would equate to $714,725,900 (including destination) assuming ever car sold was a base coupe with no options. In the final tally, a little extra padding gets that number up to $750,000,000.
But that's not all. Consider this: Many of the almost 1.4 million Corvettes produced over the model's history are still on the road. There are new parts being produced and aftermarket companies like Mid-America Motorworks deaing business, that single Illinois company doing more than $40 million a year in sales. There are the Corvette events large and small, restorers who do nothing but Corvettes, salvage yards that deal only in used Corvette parts and the Corvette magazines where owners find all this stuff.
And then there are the Corvette-themed tchotchkes, every single one of which provides a tiny contribution to the huge licensing royalties that General Motors collects every year. The article admits there's no way to come to an accurate number, but it just goes to show how valuable one specific model can be to a company.
