For sale, a restorable 1958 1/2 ton 3100 apache pickup. The truck has been garaged for the past 25 years. It has rust in all of the usual spots that rot on these trucks. The front fenders have been removed and discarded. The major areas are the rear of the cab corners. The bottoms of both doors. The rocker panels, step insides and kickplate, fronts of rear fenders, sections of the floor pan. The bed had a cap installed for many years so the bed sides and back have no rust. Both doors open and close easily and the hinge areas do not have major rust. All of the sheet metal for the front end was removed, but you can see from the photos that it's all there in the bed. Frame has surface rust but appears that all mounting areas (shock mounts, spring mounts etc.) are in good condition. It is straight and undamaged. There is a 1969 327 small block installed which was running when stored. Has always held antifreeze so block is good. Not shown in photos but are included in sale are the L and R n.o.s. bedsteps., n.o.s. hood emblem and apache fender emblems, (L + R) purchased from golden state pickup ( I don't think their in business anymore) Aftermarket door handles and scratch guards. After market rear view mirrors and brackets. Both steel cab corner replacement panels. replacement rocker steel panels. Both L + R step inside and kick replacement panels (L shaped). Window tracks with felt. Windshield and rear window rubber gaskets. King pin kit. $500 deposit. prefer cash for balance, but paypal OK.

GM recalling 250,000 SUVs over door electronics
Mon, 20 Aug 2012After a door-fire investigation that dates back to February, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially announced a recall today that affects around 250,000 General Motors SUVs for a faulty driver's door module. The recall applies to the Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Isuzu Ascender and Saab 9-7X from the 2006 and 2007 model years, as well as the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT and GMC Envoy XL for vehicles sold and/or registered in the Snow Belt.
Road salt use in these midwestern and northern states can lead to corrosion of the driver's door module on these GMT360 and GMT370 vehicles, which allows water to come in contact with the circuit board. If shorted out, the vehicle's power door locks and power windows will not work, and could possibly lead to overheating and, in some circumstances, a fire. No official word on how many total vehicles caught on fire, but back in June, 28 fires had been reported to the government agency. A fix for the problem is still being worked out, but all affected vehicle owners will be notified by GM.

Tarantino's stolen Chevy Malibu from Pulp Fiction recovered after 19 years [w/video]
Mon, 29 Apr 2013Quentin Tarantino fans will likely remember Vincent Vega's cherry 1964 Chevrolet Malibu Convertible in Pulp Fiction. In a movie drenched in automotive references, the Malibu is very nearly a character in and of itself, and it serves as the subject of Vega's soliloquy about the kind of man who vandalizes another's automobile. It also happened to be Tarantino's personal car when the film was shot, and was apparently stolen shortly after production wrapped. Now police have located the car some 19 years later.
As it turns out, the thieves cloned the vehicle identification number from another '64 Malibu and had the car registered under the new digits. It was then sold to an unsuspecting buyer. Police happened upon the duplicate VINs while investigating another potential theft. Right now, it's unclear whether Tarantino has taken possession of the Chevrolet, if it has remained in the possession of the fraud victim, or whether it's caught somewhere in the gears of justice. Either way, you can catch Vega's memorable thoughts on the car keying in the Pulp Fiction clip below. But consider yourself warned: the video contains explicit language as Not Safe For Work as it comes.
Chevy Corvette Stingray "colorizer" lets you chase the rainbow

While Chevrolet has yet to release the official configurator for the 2014 Corvette Stingray, it did give us something else to kill some time playing around with.
The C7 Corvette "colorizer" recently went online, and it lets you look at the car in all of its available colors and wheel options from four different angles so that when this car does go on sale, you know exactly which one you want.
