What we have here is my father's 1950 Chevy 3100 short box pick-up (the box is off a year or so newer truck). It has a 235 in-line 6 that has been rebuilt with less than 800 miles on it! This truck was once a farm truck. So not intended for highway use, as it has 4:11 gears in the rear end. You'll get there, just not in a hurry! The truck has new front disc brakes (5 lug) and rear drum brakes (original 6 lug). Original transmission and rear end. The speedometer and factory gas gauge don't work but there is an aftermarket gas gauge that does work. Decent matching red chevy rally wheels and tires. Comes with an extra hood (GMC hood), 2 doors and seat. Oh and wait for it...a brand new cedar bed (strip kit from LMC)!

New parts:
One wire alternator with working volt meter.
Electric wiper motor.
Heater motor.
After market gas gauge and new sending unit.
Carburetor.
Front disc brakes (5 lug).
Cedar Bed Kit.

The truck runs and drives great! It has a clean original title. The truck has an older paint job on it and plenty of patina. I like to call it character. It has some dents and scuffs and even some scratches on it but its a cool driver. Get in it and go!

Feel free to contact me with any questions.

I will not ship this truck so please don's ask. I will meet the shipping company or yourself at the time of pick up and assist in loading at my house but thats as far I can go.

Sorry about the date on the pictures, my parents have had the camera for a while and don't know how to set the date on it, they were just taken last weekend.

Thanks and good luck!

GM recalling 118K Colorado, Canyon pickups over missing hood latches

Thu, 20 Dec 2012

General Motors has announced a recall of 118,800 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickup trucks due to the possibility of secondary hood latches not being installed at the time of manufacture. The affected vehicles are from the 2010, 2011 and 2012 model years, all of which were built between November 9, 2009 and August 28, 2012.
According to the official National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report, these trucks fail to "comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 113, 'Hood Latch System.' The hood may be missing the secondary hood latch." In other words, owners of these trucks could find their vehicles' hoods opening unexpectedly while driving.
The official recall campaign is expected to begin on January 17, 2013. Dealers will inspect the affected pickups and if a secondary hood latch is not present, one will be installed free of charge. Scroll down to read the official NHTSA report.

UAW to vote on strike at Kentucky Corvette plant

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

The current wait time for a new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is well, not short. With word of a strike at the Bowling Green, KY factory responsible for seventh-generation sports car, though, that wait time could end up growing substantially.
Now, a strike is still a ways off. UAW Local 2164, which represents the 800 workers responsible for screwing the Corvette together, is set to vote on authorizing a strike today, but even if the employees give the action a go, it's far from a sure thing. According to The Tennessean, both regional and national union officials would need to put their stamp of approval on strike action.
"The membership has to vote to strike, but it's just a step in the process," said Gary Casteel, the UAW's Region 8 director and one of the people that would need to authorize a strike action. Casteel told The Tennessean, "It's purely a local situation, though. They are having some issues with the local management."

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible gives us a couple of looks

Sat, 02 Mar 2013

Put away your pixel paintbrushes, kids. Pack up your Photoshop. This is the real-deal 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible in its first official images. The droptop Chevrolet will roll into the bright lights of the Palexpo exhibition at next week's Geneva Motor Show, a four-wheeled statement of intent that General Motors is serious about taking its Corvette franchise global.
Chevy isn't providing anything in the way of further details with these two shots, but we've learned at least a couple of things about the car shown here. First off, the example seen in these images is fitted with the optional Z51 Performance Package - something that isn't immediately evident because there's no sign of the coupe model's prominent ductwork on its rear haunches. In order to accommodate the power folding hard tonneau cover, the vents that feed the transmission and differential coolers have been relocated to the underside of the car. The dark paint color on this example also does a good job of muting the contrasting black front fender vents and hood opening - Z51-spec design details that have proven to be somewhat controversial.
One other thing to note: These two shots also display the Stingray wearing different alloy wheels than the split five-spoke design shown at the hardtop's Detroit Auto Show unveiling in January. The simpler, thin five-spoke wheels should do a good job of showing off the Z51's upgraded brakes, and they'll be optional on the coupe as well.
