1946 Chevrolet 3/4 Ton Pickup on 2040-cars
Warner Robins, Georgia, United States
1946 3/4 ton Chevrolet in above average condition. Engine can be started. Hydraulic system still attached for dump bed. Eight lug nuts on front an rear. Minor dents on body and minor damage to chrome. Passenger window is broken. Lights and horn works. Mileage is unknown. I have many more pictures if interested. Brake master cylinder, located under floor board, will need to be replaced or rebuilt.
On May-09-14 at 18:30:33 PDT, seller added the following information: Truck is still configured on a 6 volt battery system. Extra hood, electrical parts, handles, & chrome pieces included. The back, front, & passenger windows are all original and not damaged. Driver window is broken/cracked (disregard that it stated passenger window damaged in original posting). On May-11-14 at 08:28:43 PDT, seller added the following information. I have a signed, original title, along with a bill of sale to me. It is registered in GA in my name, but they will not issue a title due to the age of the truck. They stated that they did not begin issuing titles until 1954. I have been to tag office and verified this. I hear that northern states like KS and WI will issue a new title. It originally came from KS. On May-13-14 at 15:10:40 PDT, seller added the following information: Two front tires are being replaced with new tires on original rim. I do have door panels, but they are not in the photos showing the interior. They are in a photo alone. The Master brake cylinder has started leaking, so I have Taken it Off to be rebuilt. Just waiting for the parts to come in. |

The story of the 2014 Chevrolet SS: "Luxury, power, refinement, handling"
Thu, 07 Mar 2013Not including the women and men who built it, the 2014 Chevrolet SS has only been seen in person by a piddling number of people - fewer humans than would fill the gymnasium at a high school volleyball game. Not including the men and women who built it, no one has driven it. Even so, it is already saddled with two controversies: the way it looks and the way it shifts.
First to that shifting. Did we love the last Americanized Holden, the awesomely sportsome Pontiac G8 GXP, and its six-speed manual? Of course. Do we wish the SS came with a six-speed manual? Of course. But we'd like a toboggan to come with a manual transmission. We'd put a manual transmission on a weasel if we could because we're just wired that way; if it moves, it should come with a stick and a clutch. Or at least the option.
Let's climb down off the ledge, though. We haven't driven the SS and we have no idea how good (or not) the automatic is. And the Hobson's Choice in transmissions when it comes to sport sedans like the BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and Jaguar XFR-S and, oh yeah, cars-that-really-should-have-manuals like the Audi R8 and Nissan GT-R and Porsche 918 and every single Lamborghini and Ferrari, for instance, hasn't stopped us from enjoying what is clearly the gruesome, dual-clutched demise of Western automotive civilization. Because in spite of our ululations at the dying of the six-speed light, we understand.
2014 Chevrolet C7 Corvette wastes no time zooming into Jay Leno's Garage
Thu, 24 Jan 2013Where else would you expect the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray to show up first? Although this time it isn't exactly in Jay Leno's Garage, Leno instead playing an away game at Brown's Classic Auto in Scottsdale, Arizona. Nor does Leno drive the car, instead taking an 11-minute walkaround of the new American sports car with General Motors design head Ed Welburn, the same man who recently brought by a string of classic Corvettes to the talk show host's California compound.
It is, admittedly, a love-fest for the American sports car now featuring 450 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque, but one that also features admissions about previous Corvette seats like "they were kinda rough," and the explanation that labeling the coupe "Stingray" means not having to call it "the base Corvette." On top of that, Welburn also explains the proper application of the term "dashboard." You can watch it all in the video below.
Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit
Mon, 20 Jun 2011Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
