My 59 chevy is my absolute everyday car. Its a reliable fun car to drive everyday. living in Texas the temp easily gets in the 100's all the time. This car doesnt over heat and runs great all the time. This is the Biscayne model of the 59. It came with vinyl floors and manuel windows. This was an upgraded model that originally had the 235L6 with 3 on the tree and the rare Overdrive. I drove it this way for a while, then one buddy drives it and poof.... Motor was cooked. So now it has a SBC 350 V8 and a 700R4 as its powerhouse. This is a perfect set up for daily highway use. I live on a toll road and cruise 80mph to and from work every day. Shifter was moved to the floor with a nice B&M shifter.  I wanted this car so my family and I could all ride together. So i had brackets for my kids car seats installed in the rear bench, so they can just click into place. All floors are solid and rear bench has minor tear from age. front seat is fine. EVERYTHING IS ORIGINAL inside.  Because its a daily i had to have my tunes. I installed a Pioneer CD player with Bluetooth and ipod controls in the glovebox with speakers hidden under the dash and under the rear deck. Original radio still works but speaker is disconnected. I installed an IR repeater under the dash (hidden as well) so the glovebox doesnt have to be open to control the radio.

Installed a basic 2way paging alarm for security purposes. It has a static drop to the whole car. After tons of research about the X frames these cars were built on, most people recommended  not buying the lowering springs, but cutting coils off originals. So coils were cut, with new shocks all the way around. Car floats down the highway. Driveshaft is a 2 piece set up and the carrier bearing is a beefy Billet heavy duty one. new brakes and lines. New Gas tank, All gauges work. Still has drums all the way around but stops great. Gets a whole lot of attention, and tons of remember when stories too. I had the dash striped at a show with colors to best match the paint. Its not really a show car in the condition it is now, but they sure do love it. This car didnt come with A/C but did however come with a strong factory fan and heater/defrost. Wipers work great as well. As a daily ive been in the cold the rain and hot summer days, which surprisingly this thing gets tons of air flow in the car even with the windows rolled up.

Dent on passenger fender when i got it and i never got it fixed. All glass is good except for drivers window has a crack but still solid. I was shocked at how easy it is to find parts for these cars. Not expensive at all.
15" wheels all around and with Yokohama Vulcanized white walls.  Hush flow exhaust gives it that nice V8 rumble but isnt obnoxious for your passengers.

I HAVE TRIED TO EXPLAIN THIS CAR THE BEST THAT I CAN IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS PLEASE MESSAGE ME. I HAVE A VIDEO WALK AROUND AND TONS OF PICTURES AT YOUR REQUEST.

LETS NOT FORGET ABOUT THOSE FINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

C7 Corvette makes inaugural ad appearance in Chevy's first spot with new slogan

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

Chevrolet's "Runs Deep" tagline has finally been run into the ground, replaced with the Bowtie brand's "Find New Roads" slogan that's part of parent General Motors' plan to unify its everyday brand's marketing efforts worldwide. The new Chevrolet campaign was ushered in on prime time last night during the Grammy Awards on CBS, and the first spot, a 90-second full-line ad, also marks the first appearance of the 2014 Corvette Stingray in a commercial.
Being a full-line ad, the commercial is composed of vignettes centered on different vehicles in the brand's lineup. The all-new 2014 Impala also makes its first commercial appearance in dapper fashion, and time is spent on a skateboarding Sonic and a bouquet of brightly colored Spark hatchbacks driven by fashionable women. The ad starts and ends with Chevy's green halo car, the Volt, along with a young girl with her robotic dog (yes, really).
Chevrolet's "Runs Deep" campaign got off to a rocky start in the fall of 2010, but it did last for a couple of years with some tweaks. This new one, "Find New Roads" seems more intent on drawing new customers into the fold than the outgoing tagline, which seemed to play more toward the brand faithful. It admittedly reminds us more than a little the short-lived "Find Your Own Road" Saab motto (which, we note, was conceived while the Swedish brand was under GM's control), but no matter, we still think it's got more long-term potential than "Runs Deep."

Corvette Stingray designer lists five goals of new exterior shape

Fri, 12 Apr 2013

Redesigning an icon is a difficult task, especially when you've got a blank sheet of paper in front of you and the all-new C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is intended to be your final objective.
General Motors has released a new short video featuring Kirk Bennion of the Corvette's exterior design team, talking about the challenges of sculpting Chevrolet's new flagship sports car and the five goals the team had to keep in mind as it worked. In the end, Bennion's team had the pleasure of seeing their hard work take center stage as the Corvette captured the world's eyes at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.

Chevy Sonic shreds like a skateboard

Tue, 19 Mar 2013

Despite the fact that the 2013 Chevy Sonic is a fun, plucky little thing - especially in ever-so-slightly hotter RS guise - it is not, in fact, a skateboard. But don't tell that to rapper Theophilus London.
In General Motors' latest spot for the Chevrolet compact, London needs to make a quick run to the store for some milk. And even though, once again, the Sonic is not a skateboard, it ollies, pops and gets air because, you know, it's just so much fun to throw around.
If this video looks familiar to you, it's because this is the full ad that we first got a preview of in Chevy's longer, full-line spot, where the brand's "Find New Roads" tagline was introduced. Scroll down to see this dedicated Sonic spot, along with the older ad, and remember, the Sonic is still - still - not a skateboard.
