This auction is for a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt Sport sedan that my wife used for her daily commute to work for the past five and a half years. This is a great  low-mileage, well-maintained, safe, and fuel-efficient car that is no longer needed since her job situation has changed. She averaged 32 MPG on the highway.

This car was purchased new and is fully loaded featuring a 2.4L DOHC VVT engine, 5-speed manual transmission, sport suspension, electric power steering, 4-wheel disc brakes, front airbags and front/rear side airbags, OnStar, SiriusXM radio, 17" polished aluminum wheels, power mirrors, fog lamps, rear spoiler, Pioneer premium audio system, leather seats, cargo net, and power sunroof.

Redline D4 synthetic ATF used in manual transaxle.

KYB Excel-G shocks and struts installed at 46,000 miles.

New battery installed 11/18/2012.

New BF Goodrich G-Force Super Sport All Season H/V tires installed by Costco at 42,000 miles.

EBC Greenstuff brake pads and EBC Sport slotted rotors installed at 32,000 miles.

This auction also includes the original carpeted floor mats and the original air intake system with filter.

The interior is in like-new condition. The car drives and handles excellent in the snow and rain.

The car was hit once on the driver side front door when it was parked in a parking lot and repaired. It was also hit once in the rear bumper at a stop light. The rear bumper was replaced.

The electric power steering was replaced by Oasis Chevrolet under a recall.

This vehicle is being sold as-is by a private seller with no warranty. Please contact me to make arrangements to see the car in person. Please ask any questions before bidding.

A $500 deposit is required upon winning bid via PayPal. Remaining balance is due within one week of end of auction via cash or certified bank check. Vehicle and title will not be released to buyer until check funds have cleared.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray priced from $51,995*

Fri, 26 Apr 2013

After months of speculation, Chevrolet has finally revealed the official starting price of the 2014 Corvette Stingray. The base MSRP for the 450-horsepower Stingray Coupe will be $51,995, while the Stingray Convertible will go for $56,995 (*both prices include a $995 destination fee). This means that the price increase from 2013 to 2014 is just $1,400 for the coupe and $2,395 for the convertible - pretty modest increases considering the upgrade in specifications. Of course, neither price accounts for the sort of dealer markup that might grace early C7 window stickers, especially since less than a third of all Chevrolet dealers will be allocated Corvette models to sell at the car's launch.
Now, these prices are for the base car, so if you're wondering how much a fully loaded Stingray will run, Chevy has given us a good indication of that as well. The coupe we saw on display at the Detroit Auto Show (shown above), for example, would run $73,360 including options such as the $2,800 Z51 Performance Package, $2,495 competition sport seats and the $1,795 Magnetic Ride Control option - just to name a few. Stepping up to the 3LT trim level that brings a full leather interior will run an extra $8,005 over the base price.
While $20,000 in options may seem like a lot, this "as-tested" price still has the C7 competitively priced against rival coupes like the Porsche 911 and Nissan GT-R. Speaking of price comparisons, Chevrolet also points out that the C7 Stingray Z51 costs $2,200 less than the C6 Grand Sport while delivering better acceleration (0-60 mph in less than four seconds) and improved track performance (including more than 1 g in cornering).

GM to make most cars LTE hotspots for 2015

Mon, 25 Feb 2013

General Motors isn't the first automaker to deliver in-car Internet access, but a proposed plan announced today could make the technology more widespread than any of its competitors have offered. By the 2015 model year, most Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac and GMC products in the US and Canada will offer 4G LTE mobile broadband access. Initially, GM will just be pairing with AT&T to deliver this service, but additional carriers will be revealed in the future.
Current in-car Wi-Fi hot spots are limited to 3G, but GM says that 4G LTE is 10 times faster than 3G service and will allow for full Internet access, including streaming video for entertainment as well as services like real-time traffic updates and navigation driving directions. There is also no need for a paired smartphone with this new system, which should make it easier to use, and GM and AT&T will also be working together to develop new apps for customers.
Buyers can expect to start seeing 4G LTE in their cars starting next year, and GM is already planning to expand the service to other global markets as well. All of the information from GM's announcement is posted in a press release below.

Read This: Auto Extremist advocates for Corvette as brand with multiple models [w/poll]

Fri, 25 Jan 2013

The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette really grinds Peter De Lorenzo's gears. Or, more accurately, the self-anointed Auto Extremist has an issue with what he sees as mismanagement of the legendary sports car by General Motors executives. In a new editorial on his website, De Lorenzo argues it's time to split Corvette off from Chevrolet to create an all-new brand, complete with a model range with at least three new takes on the sports car. Capable of fully leveraging the successes of the Corvette Racing program and brandishing the full might of GM's technical prowess, the Corvette brand would theoretically give Porsche something to sweat over.
Sure, that sounds like a party, but given GM's troubled track record when it comes to launching (let alone managing) brands, we say that's slippery slope that could just as easily end with the whole Corvette franchise in the scrap bin. Either way, the notion is certainly an interesting one. Head over to Auto Extremist to take in the full editorial, and then let us know what you think in Comments. Should GM split off its most storied nameplate?
