2009 Chevrolet Cobalt Ss Coupe 2-door 2.0l on 2040-cars
Jordan, Minnesota, United States
The 2009 Cobalt SS at hand is fun to drive and has the means of embarrassing a lot of other cars that are thought of as more capable. With it's Turbocharged engine and manual transmission it is a brilliant medium between fuel efficiency and sport power, averaging about 26 mpg combined highway and city driving in my own experience. The exterior is a shy blue only seen in true sunlight, whereas in the low light it almost looks black. The whole car consists of all but two factory installations. The two aftermarket purchases were of the exhaust system and the 18" Enkei rims. The rims add a nice touch of color with a red pinstripe around the outside wall. Likewise, the exhaust upgrade adds its own color with a distinctive exhaust note that is not overbearing but still roars when you want it to. There are only two true flaws with the vehicle. One is a scuff on the rear passenger rim from the previous owner which is pretty hard to notice and could probably be touched up. The second is the tire pressure sensor is not working on one of the tires which I found to be a common problem with some GM vehicles of this year. Other than those two problems the car is in superb condition. Another item for your consideration is the relatively low mileage on the vehicle. It sits at around 61,000 miles. However I switch between the cobalt and another vehicle as my daily driver so it is subject to change. I originally got the car from another private seller who had bought it used. I am the third owner and as far as I know it has never been smoked in. That's all for now. If you have any questions, ask away. Thanks for your time.

Camaro spy shots show subtly different grille, front fascia
Sun, 03 Feb 2013It looks like there some changes in store for the Chevrolet Camaro - the only thing is that we just don't know what Chevy has up its sleeve. Looking at these spy shots, we'd initially be inclined to think that there is just a minor facelift or a new special edition, but upon closer inspection, there are a few oddities about this car that definitely have us intrigued.
The most obvious difference on this prototype is the slightly restyled front fascia with a smaller lower air inlet and the two-bar grille. Then we get to some of the car's mysterious details. For starters, this fascia has the SS vent above the grille, but it looks to be blocked off. Granted this could just be a one-off piece used for testing. What really piqued our interest was at the rear of the car where it has quad exhaust outlets that are used on the ZL1. Could this be the LS7-powered Camaro that we reported on back in December?
At this point, your guess is as good as ours as to what we're looking at here, so let us know in the comments what you think this could be.
Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine
Fri, 08 Mar 2013Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.
