1968 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu 2 door Hardtop
Runs strong and drives straight, dependable, fun to drive Rebuilt 350 engine; Performance cam, Edelbrock performer manifold, Edelbrock carb. HEI ignition, headers with Flowmaster mufflers, 350 Turbo transmission, street/strip torque converter, trans cooler Power steering, heavy duty 4 row radiator 3.08 rear axle, Corvette ralley wheels Console with factory horseshoe shifter Factory tinted Soft-Ray glass Never wrecked, very solid body, factory 327 car Clear title in hand I have owned this Chevelle for over 10 years. It is fun to drive and I have always kept it in the garage. I seldom drive it anymore and it is time to sell. It is very solid car, with the exception of some rust bubbles above the drivers rear wheel and some in the front pass. fender (as shown in pics). The floors, trunk, and everything else appear solid. This is a great car ready to enjoy as is or take it to the next level. The doors open and close nice and solid, all of the electrical is is good, the lights, heater and wipers all work. The windows roll up and down nice. All of the glass is good. I have all of the trim not seen on the car and also the chrome rings for the wheels. The car needs carpet and also the headliner was removed to install a new one. The paint looks good as is, but it is showing it's age especially on the trunk lid as shown in the pics. It starts right up and I have some video of it starting and driving on the highway. Please feel free to ask any questions or if I can provide any more information. |

GM claims it's first to sell million 30+ mpg vehicles
Fri, 04 Jan 2013As we continue to put together all the data for the year-end edition of By The Numbers, General Motors has announced that it sold more than a million vehicles in the US last year that achieved at least 30 miles per gallon on the highway. More impressively, GM managed this feat using multiple strategies including small vehicle size, turbocharged engines and hybrid or plug-in technologies across four brands (Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC) accounting for 13 separate models. This number will grow even more in 2013 thanks to cars like the all-electric Spark, the diesel Cruze, the range-extended Cadillac ELR and the Buick Encore compact CUV.
GM's small car sales were up 39 percent last year helping to attain this million-sales mark for 30-mpg models, and almost 40 percent of all GM sales consisted of cars with fuel-efficient I4 engines. In regards to more advanced means of improving fuel economy, GM says that it plans on having 500,000 vehicles with "some form of electrification" on the road by 2017.

Why the Corvette is Chevrolet's billion-dollar baby
Thu, 28 Feb 2013Edmunds has worked up a piece that tries to figure out just how much the global Chevrolet Corvette economy is worth, a spitballed guesstimate putting the number at more than $2.5 billion with the proviso that the number is probably low. It starts by taking Corvette's new car sales of 14,132 units last year, which would equate to $714,725,900 (including destination) assuming ever car sold was a base coupe with no options. In the final tally, a little extra padding gets that number up to $750,000,000.
But that's not all. Consider this: Many of the almost 1.4 million Corvettes produced over the model's history are still on the road. There are new parts being produced and aftermarket companies like Mid-America Motorworks deaing business, that single Illinois company doing more than $40 million a year in sales. There are the Corvette events large and small, restorers who do nothing but Corvettes, salvage yards that deal only in used Corvette parts and the Corvette magazines where owners find all this stuff.
And then there are the Corvette-themed tchotchkes, every single one of which provides a tiny contribution to the huge licensing royalties that General Motors collects every year. The article admits there's no way to come to an accurate number, but it just goes to show how valuable one specific model can be to a company.
GM recalling 250,000 SUVs over door electronics
Mon, 20 Aug 2012After a door-fire investigation that dates back to February, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially announced a recall today that affects around 250,000 General Motors SUVs for a faulty driver's door module. The recall applies to the Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Isuzu Ascender and Saab 9-7X from the 2006 and 2007 model years, as well as the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT and GMC Envoy XL for vehicles sold and/or registered in the Snow Belt.
Road salt use in these midwestern and northern states can lead to corrosion of the driver's door module on these GMT360 and GMT370 vehicles, which allows water to come in contact with the circuit board. If shorted out, the vehicle's power door locks and power windows will not work, and could possibly lead to overheating and, in some circumstances, a fire. No official word on how many total vehicles caught on fire, but back in June, 28 fires had been reported to the government agency. A fix for the problem is still being worked out, but all affected vehicle owners will be notified by GM.
