Very sharp and difficult to find!

Beautiful Red 1964 Chevelle Malibu Convertible.  This car is the best of both worlds....very,very nice driver, but not
a trailer queen your afraid to drive!

Specifications:

230 cu in. 6cylinder. This is the larger 155hp. Turbo-Thrift 6cylinder engine offered by Chevrolet.
Plenty of power...runs very well.  I just had a complete tune-up performed by a master mechanic.
(photo's do not reflect). NEW AS FOLLOWS: Belts, hoses, fluids, filters, plugs, plug wires, rebuilt distributor,
points and rotor. Radiator also flushed and fresh coolant installed. Freshened engine bay with proper Chevy
                           paint colors and decals.

Transmission.  Powerglide automatic transmission. Recently rebuilt. Shifts like brand new. Flawless.

Options.  Power operated convertible top, power steering, 2-tone deluxe sport steering wheel, simulated wire wheels covers,
2 speed windshield wiper motor and Delco AM radio.

Suspension, steering and brakes. All suspension including A-arms are excellent. Steering is tight. Brakes work very well.
Tires are in good shape, and the whitewalls really accent the rest of the red/white color combination well.

Interior.  General Motors described the fabric as leather-grain vinyl.  I would describe it as white vinyl in really good condition.
The carpet is BRAND NEW 80/20 loop. Door panels also are very nice. All glass is good and windows roll up and down
freely. All gauges work well, (except clock) and the GM Delco AM radio works well.

Convertible Top.  Newer, factory correct and in like brand new condition. Also includes new boot that's also in brand new condition.

Body. Really straight, no dents or dings, paint shows really well. I found 1 or 2 "pin-head" size chips that need touched up. Trunk
is rust free and solid. Correct Jack, wrench, spare and mat.

About me, the seller.  I am an active member of the Antique Auto Club of America of Kansas City, and a collector myself.
I am not a dealer. This is a wonderful car that was very good to begin with...all original and well cared for.
It just needed to be cleaned and refreshed, tuned up, and have some new factory correct items like carpet, rest supports
and a proper engine tune-up replacing all belts hoses and plugs. My wife and I would really like to keep the car, but we have
no place to store it inside.

I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH WHAT A JOY THIS CAR IS TO DRIVE.

STARTS EVERY TIME.....DRIVES BEAUTIFULLY....VERY DEPENDABLE AND LOTS OF FUN!!

Clear Missouri Title.    I encourage serious buyers to come see it in person......you'll be hooked!... or send your profesional inspector.

TERMS: Cash or wire transfer please.   Priced very fair...Serious buyers may contact Jim at 816-729-8513

The story of the 2014 Chevrolet SS: "Luxury, power, refinement, handling"

Thu, 07 Mar 2013

Not including the women and men who built it, the 2014 Chevrolet SS has only been seen in person by a piddling number of people - fewer humans than would fill the gymnasium at a high school volleyball game. Not including the men and women who built it, no one has driven it. Even so, it is already saddled with two controversies: the way it looks and the way it shifts.
First to that shifting. Did we love the last Americanized Holden, the awesomely sportsome Pontiac G8 GXP, and its six-speed manual? Of course. Do we wish the SS came with a six-speed manual? Of course. But we'd like a toboggan to come with a manual transmission. We'd put a manual transmission on a weasel if we could because we're just wired that way; if it moves, it should come with a stick and a clutch. Or at least the option.
Let's climb down off the ledge, though. We haven't driven the SS and we have no idea how good (or not) the automatic is. And the Hobson's Choice in transmissions when it comes to sport sedans like the BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and Jaguar XFR-S and, oh yeah, cars-that-really-should-have-manuals like the Audi R8 and Nissan GT-R and Porsche 918 and every single Lamborghini and Ferrari, for instance, hasn't stopped us from enjoying what is clearly the gruesome, dual-clutched demise of Western automotive civilization. Because in spite of our ululations at the dying of the six-speed light, we understand.

Chevy SS prototype spotted wearing Pontiac G8 clothes

Tue, 28 Aug 2012

Do not adjust your computer screen, you are not seeing the rebirth of the Pontiac brand. General Motors has chosen to use a G8 to disguise a test mule for the latest prototype of the forthcoming Chevrolet SS. The G8 was closely related to the Holden Commodore and Vauxhall VXR, the platform upon which the new Chevrolet performance model will be based. It should come as little surprise, then, that GM has opted to use the cladding from the former G8.
Thought the front clip of this mule is pure Pontiac, note the vents immediately behind the front wheel. That is a distinctive design hallmark of the Vauxhall VXR. Also note that this vehicle is right-hand drive, as the Holden and its Chevy counterpart will be very closely related. That likely includes potential drivetrains. The spy photos of this mule also reveal very wide rear tires, and rear wheels that do not match the fronts.

Chevy Camaro is a good sport, wishes Ford Mustang Happy 50th

Tue, 15 Apr 2014

It was 1966 when Chevrolet launched its challenger to the wildly successful Ford Mustang, the Camaro. While the competition between the two brands was already healthy, the arrival of the Camaro set off one of the most intense, model-to-model rivalries in the industry.
That competitive spirit hasn't stopped Chevy and the Camaro from wishing Ford's iconic muscle car a Happy 50th Birthday as the Ford's April 17 anniversary rolls around. These two cars have been linked over the years, and while the rivalry took a break for a few years in the 2000s, today's competition between the Camaro and Mustang is as fierce as it's ever been.
You might recall that this friendliness when it comes to major milestones isn't too rare. Ford put on quite a display for General Motors' hundredth anniversary back in 2008. As the Camaro's fiftieth birthday approaches in 2016, we wouldn't be surprised to see the Mustang sending its best wishes to its Bowtie rival.
