This will be my last time to list the car, My loss is your
gain, we just had our 4th child and I need to move this. Here are the details: Car has been built from top to
bottom. Has 408 engine (6.7L) with a procharger on it (only have it at 6 psi right now which can easily be
increased by changing the pulley). It has a Lunatic crank and rods. JE forged pistons and rings. Block is a 6.0
truck block. ARP fasteners. A 3” core radiator was put it to help with cooling as well as bigger fans. Heads are
stage 3 Patriot CNC ported. Intake is an early LS6 intake with an egr port. The cam is a Comp LSR 277 centrifugal
blower cam. All of the suspension has been upgraded (bilstein shocks, strut tower brace, control arms, torque arm,
etc.). Hooker long tube headers to a 4" exhaust to muffler then twin 3" exhaust tips. The transmission is a Finish
Line Transmission stage 5 with a deep B&M transmission pan. It has 5 pinion planetarys and a bunch of billet parts
with a vigilante 2800 stall torque convertor. Has new michelon pilot sport tires (335/35/17) in the rear. This
engine was built by a mechanic in Nebraska who can go into more detail if you like. Also has 2 fuel pumps with an
access panel in the trunk so you don't have to drop the tank. The injectors have been upgraded to 80lb. A Detroit
Locker in the rear with 3.23 gears (I use this as a daily driver so wanted decent gas mileage) Has a 3 gauge
pillar pod with boost, trans temp, fuel pressure (autometer cobalt) Was professionally tuned in Lincoln (Dynosport)
and will hit >530 hp and 510 lb at rear wheels but again can easily add a lot more if you change the pulley (dyno
sheets from tuning). Please note the VIN will pull this up as a V6 but as you can tell I have upgraded and changed
everything to match an SS (including badges).

Chevy Sonic shreds like a skateboard

Tue, 19 Mar 2013

Despite the fact that the 2013 Chevy Sonic is a fun, plucky little thing - especially in ever-so-slightly hotter RS guise - it is not, in fact, a skateboard. But don't tell that to rapper Theophilus London.
In General Motors' latest spot for the Chevrolet compact, London needs to make a quick run to the store for some milk. And even though, once again, the Sonic is not a skateboard, it ollies, pops and gets air because, you know, it's just so much fun to throw around.
If this video looks familiar to you, it's because this is the full ad that we first got a preview of in Chevy's longer, full-line spot, where the brand's "Find New Roads" tagline was introduced. Scroll down to see this dedicated Sonic spot, along with the older ad, and remember, the Sonic is still - still - not a skateboard.

Subprime financing on the rise in new car sales, leasing too

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

We all remember the financial crisis that began several years back. At its core was a splurge of subprime lending for housing loans. The housing bubble burst, triggering a collapse of the mortgage-backed securities market. Apparently, those types of loans still exist in the automotive industry, and the market share for these types of "nonprime, subprime, and deep subprime," loans has grown 13.6 percent compared to the third quarter a year ago.
According to an Automotive News report, high-risk lending expanded to 24.8 percent of total loans in Q3, up from 21.9 percent for this time last year. As this level increased, average credit scores of borrowers dropped to 755, down from 763 a year ago. In that time, the average financing amount increased $90 per vehicle, to $25,963.
At 818, Volvo maintains the highest per-owner credit score, while Mitsubishi has the lowest, at 694. The highest rate of borrowers was at Toyota, with 14 percent of the market, followed by Ford with 13.1 percent and Chevrolet at 11.1.

Final C6 Corvette built in Bowling Green

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

With all of the attention given to the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray lately, you could be forgiven for thinking that it's already well along in production, yet tooling up for the new C7 has only just begun. In fact, production of the outgoing C6 generation in Bowling Green, Kentucky just halted on Thursday.
As the C6 has aged, production numbers have predictably ebbed along with demand, but this year, the addition of the 427 and 60th anniversary models resulted in an uptick in vehicles built - this, despite a model year shortened by around 25 percent to accomodate the new model changeover. The final C6 Corvette ever, No. 13,466 built this year, was a white 427 Convertible destined for the General Motors Heritage Center museum. The car's 7.0-liter V8 heart was assembled by Corvette chief engineer Tadge Juechter himself.
In total, Bowling Green pushed out 215,100 C6 Corvettes over nine years. If you're still a C6 fan at heart and are hoping to get a good deal on a phase-out model, step lively - Chevrolet reportedly had about 6,100 unsold units, which Autoweek suggests is good for around five and a half months of supply at the model's current sales rates. Given that demand will likely slacken even further as the C7 draws closer, that should be a big enough stockpile to keep dealers satisfied until 2014 Stingrays begin showing up on their forecourts in December.
