This car is truly original and truly has <17,700 miles on it, no joke.  '92 Z28 Hardtop Heritage Edition I bought from an owner in Southern Illinois who had it stored for several years.  I changed all the fluids, replaced the heater core (preventative maintenance), greased the caliper's slide pins, replaced hood and rear decklid struts and polished the paint.  Interior looks brand new.  Exterior paint is a 9.5 out of 10.

This car has all the correct parts, no holes drilled in front grill for license plate.  Correct AC Delco battery, correct tires, original spare tire and tools, wheel locks and socket, owner's manual, etc.  Has a very rare 8 speaker Bose Gold Series stereo.  The 4 extra speakers included 2 front kick panels and rear decklid w/ matching lock (matches door locks).  I have yet to see another camaro with this rare stereo fro the factory.  Everything works in this car except the rear speakers are intermittent.  I haven't been able to chase down this issue.  Everything else works perfectly: AC, Heater, Defrost, Windows, Rear Hatch, Engine Light, Door Locks, all Lights, Cruise Control, Power seats, the list goes on.  I won't BS you on this car.

This car was one of the last third generation camaros built.  It was built in June of '92 and the last 3rd gen camaro was built in August of '92.  And not many '92 5.7L (L98) cars w/ Heritage Edition were made.  This is one of a few that is original and well taken care of.  I thought I'd buy this and start modifying it, but realized it shouldn't be done!  Hopefully you can buy it and keep it original as well.

From Thirdgen.org regarding 1992 Z28s:
`Tuned Port Injection' disappeared from the TPI throttle body cover. Mid-year, valve covers on TPI motors changed from silver to black (like LO3 V8). Also, at some point near the end of the production year, the traditional smooth-appearance Camaro TPI runners were replaced with rough, cast-appearance TPI runners (like on the Corvette L98). These runners were possibly old Corvette stock being used up on the Z28s since the Corvette's L98 was replaced by the LT1 in 1992.

I'm willing to ship this car anywhere in the world as long as you pay for the shipping.  Clean title in hand.  $1000 down 48 hours from auction end, then the remaining balance w/in 7 days is due.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Convertible offers a few more views before reveal

Mon, 04 Mar 2013

Over the weekend, Chevrolet released its first images of the new 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible. Now, ahead of the droptop's official introduction tomorrow at the Geneva Motor Show, the automaker has given us a few more shots of the softop C7 showing off the car's rump albeit from a high, strategically positioned angle.
From this angle, it's hard to get a sense for how long and flat the decklid really is, but we can easily see that, like the rest of the C7's design, the new convertible's decklid and tonneau cover are far more detailed than the current car. We also get a better look at the rear haunches sans brake vents, which have apparently been moved to underneath the car in order to accommodate the top's hard cover.
As for the overall styling of the C7 convertible, with the top erected, we get some idea of what a coupe design (as opposed to the Stingray's fastback shape) would look like on this car. The C5 Corvette most recently had a coupe model that did away with the large glass hatchback, and we recently reported on a low-cost "coupe" model potentially being added to the C7's repertoire.

Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]

Mon, 18 Mar 2013

Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. You can check out the brief press release below for more information, or head over to the Callaway site to plunk down a deposit - but before you do, we want to know... do you find this C7 wagon interesting? Vote in our poll below, then feel free to leave a few lines in Comments.

Subprime financing on the rise in new car sales, leasing too

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

We all remember the financial crisis that began several years back. At its core was a splurge of subprime lending for housing loans. The housing bubble burst, triggering a collapse of the mortgage-backed securities market. Apparently, those types of loans still exist in the automotive industry, and the market share for these types of "nonprime, subprime, and deep subprime," loans has grown 13.6 percent compared to the third quarter a year ago.
According to an Automotive News report, high-risk lending expanded to 24.8 percent of total loans in Q3, up from 21.9 percent for this time last year. As this level increased, average credit scores of borrowers dropped to 755, down from 763 a year ago. In that time, the average financing amount increased $90 per vehicle, to $25,963.
At 818, Volvo maintains the highest per-owner credit score, while Mitsubishi has the lowest, at 694. The highest rate of borrowers was at Toyota, with 14 percent of the market, followed by Ford with 13.1 percent and Chevrolet at 11.1.
