1987 IROC Z-28 Camaro Hard Top Automatic Transmission 75336 original miles West Coast car all it's life prior to me purchasing 1 year ago. This is a very nice example of an all original, except for paint, '87 Camaro Iroc Z-28 hard top 5.0 litre engine. Car was repainted prior to my purchase. Appearance is very nice with a great shine, but is not perfect. Please see pictures. Feel free to contact me an come take a look prior to bidding. I love the car and this generation of camaros, but have decided to move on to other more important things in my life. I have a reserve on the auction, but depending on bidding, may lower to get it sold. So place your bid. You may just end up with it! Please ask any questions prior to bidding. Being sold as is with no warranty expressed or implied. It's a 27 year old car that I have done alot of work to after purchasing. New headliner, steering wheel, new seat covers, floor mats, console lid, wiper blades, hood and hatch struts, windshield washer reservoir, hatch motor assembly repaired, replaced interior door panels with panels from a 3rd generation Trans-Am (I like the looks better with the map pocket), new hood insulation installed, new front seat belt clip assembly (old ones were faded), installed new aftermarket fog lights that look just like OEM. (FYI - OEM foglights are still available, but are over $300 a set) Front spoiler has some cracking in the paint and place where paint flaked off, but I have a bra for the front that is included but not installed. Tires are about 40% rear and 60% on front. I now need to get this car sold and gone to move on with more important priorities. Contact me through EBAY. |

GM warning 800,000 owners that their cars may need oil changes more frequently than they say
Fri, 05 Apr 2013The days of changing your engine oil every 3,000 miles are long gone thanks to most cars having automatic oil monitoring systems, but about 800,000 General Motors vehicles apparently have incorrect monitoring software that is leading to premature engine component wear. According to Autoweek, certain 2010-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Regal, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain models equipped with 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines could be going too long in between oil changes resulting in a higher-than-normal number of warranty claims for the engine's balance chain. The balance chain links the balance shaft to the crankshaft, and a worn one can produce higher noise levels.
As a fix, GM dealers will be reprogramming the software for the monitors in an effort to reduce the interval between oil changes, which varies based on driving habits and conditions. Through February 2015, the software update will be done at no cost to vehicle owners, but since this is not a recall, after that point, it will be up to the discretion of dealers as to whether or not they will charge for the service. What isn't immediately clear is whether GM plans on giving assistance to out-of-warranty customers who are experiencing engine issues from the worn chain.
Callaway debuts its new C7 Stingray at National Corvette Museum
Fri, 02 May 2014Callaway showed off its first tuned version of the 2014 Corvette Stingray at the National Corvette Museum last week, giving the rampant enthusiasts of America's sports car a look at the roughly 620-horsepower, supercharged rocket.
Unlike the Corvette SC610 we showed you back in January, this Stingray packs a fair bit more oomph. Horsepower is only up ten ponies, but torque has jumped from 556 pound-feet to "at least" 600 pound-feet. Neither horsepower nor torque is official quite yet, although Callaway is expecting to know just what its creation can do once testing and validation is completed later this month.
The 6.2-liter, supercharged V8 now boasts a new, three-element intercooler, which Callaway claims only allowed the inlet air temperature to increase by ten degrees Fahrenheit during dyno runs. Previous designs saw a 35-degree-Fahrenheit jump. The exhaust system has also been fettled with, and now is even less restrictive.
More Corvette Stingray Factoids: Vanishing panel gaps and 26-mpg LT1
Thu, 28 Feb 2013During January's Detroit Auto Show, we managed a longer than expected wandering tag-team interview with C7 Corvette chief engineering exec Tadge Juechter (pictured above), and LT1 engine boss Jordan Lee (pictured below). They are, quite honestly, two of the very nicest bigshot lads to ever walk the engineering corridors of an American manufacturer. Both are enthralled by what they're doing for a day job. So are we.
We've followed the pre-sale anticipation for the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray like an Oreck vacuum yanking every speck of dirt from a well-trampled carpet. Everything is reportable and contains a grain of further knowledge about this dramatically important and cheered-for car, as it continues to be pressured into representing all that is superior about the American dream. The Corvette wears one heavy cloak.
So, most of what was talked about has been expertly reported already right here on Autoblog. But, looking through our notes again, both Jeuchter and Lee added facts to the buzzing mix.
