This 1979 Red Z28 Camaro is in great condition. I purchased it on 12/6/12 in Kansas City at the Mecum Auto Auctions. I fixed an oil leak, replaced the belts, changed the oil and filters. I have also replaced the windshield caulking preventing any leaks and replaced the starter. Tires in great condition. I have records of all maintenance done to this vehicle including the bill of sale and Block Sheet from the Mecum Auction. It is a 4 speed 350 small block that runs great. It has been my primary car since december and hasn't given me any problems. The interior is original black leather with all black trim. I installed a new stereo with usb and Aux ports. The car has working seat belts and a great heater but no air conditioner. The glove box cover is missing but looks normal. On the outside of the car on the front passenger fender the paint is chipping slightly, it is very discreet and easily fixable. The odometer was not working when i purchased the vehicle and on my title it is Odometer exempt. It is definitely a head turner. Everyday i have driven it people ask me about it and love to see it being driven. I have just recently moved away to college and need a more practical commuter car. It hurts to see it go but I am excited for it to go to a good home. The car will need to be picked up by the buyer but can be picked up in either Stillwater, OK or Van Buren, AR. Chevy Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept blends the past and the future
Wed, 19 Nov 2014The Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo is the rare concept car that salutes a seminal moment in history, yet also borders on science fiction.
Revealed Wednesday at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the concept uses the name of one of Chevy's historic racing partnerships, with Chaparral Racing, which dates to the 1960s. Chaparrals raced successfully at a range of levels, including IndyCar, Trans-Am and SCCA competition.
But the history ends there, as the concept's main purpose is as a racecar in a downloadable update for the PlayStation 3 game Gran Turismo 6.
NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.
GM throttles back Chevy Malibu, Buick LaCrosse production over swollen inventories
Wed, 06 Feb 2013As inventory of the Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse continues to pile up, General Motors will be idling its Fairfax Assembly Plant for two weeks, according to Automotive News. This move comes about a month after the plant was shut down for three weeks in late December and early January for the same reason. As of January 31, the GM had a 94-day supply of Malibu stock while the LaCrosse was a little worse with a 117-day supply.
Just last week, GM announced that it would be investing $600 million in upgrading this plant, but it's unclear what future plans the company has in store for Fairfax considering slow sales of both the plant's models. We do expect a refreshed and more luxurious LaCrosse shortly and an early design update for the Malibu to be announced at some point this year, although we have had no official word as to when either will happen.
