1973 Z28 camaro with a fresh 427 big block.  Car is estimated at 500 hp.  But is set up for street not a drag car.  This is a true z28 car not a clone.  This has been my project for the last year.  It is a running driving car but is not totally finished.  Paint is less then 6 months old.  It is a power steering power brake car.  I was soothing for a pro street look.  Another project has come up.  That is the only reason for this sale.  I have spent tons of hours already on this car.  (And money too!)

Pros
427 big block with fresh comp k cam kit (have all specs)
Shaved heads
Roller rockers
Four wheel disc brakes. (Converted rear drum to disc)
Lowered two inches
Rebuilt turbo 400 trans
New rear gears. 3,73 posi
3 row high flow aluminum
Electric fan to keep it cool
Electric fuel pump with adjustable regulator Holley blue
850 carb
Paint is new. (Gm kinetic blue like 2013 hot wheels camaro) white stripes
New rear bumper
Have split bumpers and a full new bumper for front
New dash pad
Custom bent exhaust. Flow masters. (Sounds awesome)
Have extra set of seats highback front and rear from 80 camaro (need to be recovered)
Leather Race seats in it now
Three different dash plates
Multiple misc.  parts laying around that go with car
New carpet in the box

Cons
Windshield needs to be replaced
Interior needs just a little bit of finishing touches.  Not much though
Needs a better set of rims and tires to complete it. It is set up for 18 inch wheels
Currently sitting on 15 inch 80s iroc rims.

Will sell to USA only.  Vehicle will not leave my possession until
Money clears the bank.  Title is in hand.  Please email for more questions or pictures.

Hot Wheels' Twitter-enabled vending machine coughs up free Camaro diecasts

Wed, 27 Feb 2013

There are still plenty of companies that haven't gotten the whole social media thing down pat yet, but Hot Wheels isn't one of them. During the recent Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, Hot Wheels created a lot of buzz for itself by using a vending machine filled with Chevrolet Camaro models, but instead of money to get the cars, show attendees just had to use Twitter.
To get the free car, people were asked to send a tweet to Hot Wheels Canada saying what they liked about the new Hot Wheels Edition Camaro, and including the #ChevyCIAS hashtag. This seemed to be a popular marketing tool, too, as AdWeek reports that the @HotWheelsCanada account more than tripled in followers during the course of the 10-day show. Looking ahead, this could open up even more innovative marketing possibilities using social media.
Check out the video posted below to watch how it works, and while the auto show has ended and the free-car giveaway has too, we're almost certain that some of the 1,500 freebies will make their way onto eBay.

Chevrolet Captiva looks mildly refreshed and ready for family duty

Tue, 05 Mar 2013

We showed you Chevrolet's major debut yesterday, the 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible, but General Motors is making a big push for Bowtie consideration in Europe, so it's also introducing the updated Captiva crossover here at the Geneva Motor Show.
While still based on the same platform as North America's fleet-only Captiva Sport (which is effectively a rebadged Saturn Vue), the Captiva is available in both five- and seven-seat iterations, and it looks far more modern. That's particularly the case with this updated model, which features revamped front- and rear ends that include restyled bumpers, grilles and LED taillamps, among other changes.
As before, the midsize Theta-platform CUV will be available in both front- and all-wheel drive, and is expected to carry a range of four- and six-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines. Important US programming note: Chevrolet sources tell us that America's Captiva Sport will not receive these updates.

Read This: Auto Extremist advocates for Corvette as brand with multiple models [w/poll]

Fri, 25 Jan 2013

The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette really grinds Peter De Lorenzo's gears. Or, more accurately, the self-anointed Auto Extremist has an issue with what he sees as mismanagement of the legendary sports car by General Motors executives. In a new editorial on his website, De Lorenzo argues it's time to split Corvette off from Chevrolet to create an all-new brand, complete with a model range with at least three new takes on the sports car. Capable of fully leveraging the successes of the Corvette Racing program and brandishing the full might of GM's technical prowess, the Corvette brand would theoretically give Porsche something to sweat over.
Sure, that sounds like a party, but given GM's troubled track record when it comes to launching (let alone managing) brands, we say that's slippery slope that could just as easily end with the whole Corvette franchise in the scrap bin. Either way, the notion is certainly an interesting one. Head over to Auto Extremist to take in the full editorial, and then let us know what you think in Comments. Should GM split off its most storied nameplate?
